Much prefer the Alembic's sound, but for most people they are just way too expensive! Go to Alembic's website and mark up a quote for a Series II with led's, book matched triple a maple etc! It's ridiculous!
In my currency, 3 to 4 of those basses for one fully trained showjumping horse price- ha ha. Cash not trade. In all seriousness that bass is like the Stradivarius of basses, amazing.
THey are like the Strad of basses .They are finest made of all my basses. ken Smith is very good as well so is Ken Lawerance but Alembic is like a Rolls Royce .
@76alembic I think his bass sound is very hidden in this... The click of his pulls is punchy but not the notes.. Maybe just he E.Q. though i guess.. Sounds muffled.. Dream crazy on this show he might as well not have been playin bass... Hidden in the backing synth bass.. Just my opinion...
@Scythe0001 Right on the nails head. But i think Mark is not to blame. Bad sound engineering. You can hear the more metallic sound shining through. wich suits him better . At least i think. To defend the soundguy, one could say that it must be diffiult to find some golden way with a man like Mark who plays EVERY instrument within his bassperformance. He could make it without a band. ... Just MY opinion.. :O)

that is the most beautiful bass i have seen him play. i wonder how long it takes to be built- i know it is hand made. It is a work of art at any rate
