@Soulmie1 If you still have your Mormor and Morfar around, you are the luckiest person ever! November and December are so depressing without mine. Nov 2 = Morfar's birthday, Nov 16 = their anniversary, Nov 24 = Mormor's birthday. I am lucky I still have my mother (Nov 17) but her birthday's rather bittersweet too, without Mormor and Morfar around. I sure wish there was a nice Danish family around here that could adopt my family during November-December. :) That would be Heaven on Earth!

Danishcanadian - My cousin lives in Canada, im not sure if he remember the danish version of silent night, but somewhere i have the hope he has tought his children some of the danish language, I hope some day it would be possible to spent christmas with Mike and Jenifer, Ray and Sally here in Denmark

As a VERY VERY proud Dane, these carols bring tears to my eyes as well. My mom's family still have all of the Danish Christmas traditions, and this song is always sung around the tree. My Mormor and Morfar have passed, but their eyes lit up when we sang the Danish songs. I miss them terribly, and this made me feel like they are a little closer :)

LOVE THIS!!! Mormor and Morfar used to sing this to my sister and I at Christmas. Now they're both in Heaven. Silent Night in English just doesn't work. It's like someone saying "THEY'RE GONE!" I cry my eyes out. I can ONLY listen to this song in Danish, or a language close to it. Thanks so much for posting this. I was looking for a Danish version.
