4 speeds were on the 8n's and 3 speeds were on the 2n and 9n its not completely stock if it's been switched over to 12v system. Also the 2n has a pressurized radiator, fan shroud and larger fan. Also I think sealed beam head lamps. But if it was converted over to 12v headlamps would have been replaced anyways.
It has a lot of potential not alot of rust mostly all there. Nice tractor.
@ChadLand011 Silly, I was being facetious. I wouldn't do that either... unless I found it completed destroyed. Never cut an intact classic! Same for cars or bikes!
Also where someone added that coil is where your serial on the engine is. The rusty area just to the right of the oil filter where the block and head meet. My best guess would be a 41 9N
@backwoodsminuteman thanks, i'll have a look, the coil was added when it was converted to 12V in the 80's. I'll have a good look tomorrow. Any other info is much appreciated.
That spraypainted plate under yer steering wheel will tell you the info you need to know about your tractor. Get that info from under the paint and youll have everything you need to ID it. Also they have letters cast into the block i think on the front left somewhere. Check for that.
Man, I wish I could help ya bud, but I'm just not all too familiar with the Ford tractors. I'm not really all that familiar with any tractors, but I'm more familiar with the FarmAll tractors.
Nice tractor though bud! I like the style of that tractor a little better.
@Chadland Whats up brother I'm still alive just got the Mac back and it just went down as I was uploading a vid fuck I'm pissed off now I've bin without it for a week and now again !!! Great tractor but I have no knowledge of them !!!!
@SauerTongues4 you know what the prob is ? Its a MAC !!!! Kidding, id love a Mac, im missin my weekly dose of Lena so get off the wallet and get it fixed right, cheers.
@Isheetmadrawers It could have been a globemaster, theyre huge and now looking at it the C-130 is usually alot louder. I love the globemaster, so big they shouldnt be able to fly. Maybe i'll go down and get a beter vid of them taking off. When your close the ground shakes and you feel the wind from the engines.
@Isheetmadrawers id say your right, so many planes fly outta here im not sure alot of the time. The globemaster is huge but very quiet, its freaky somethin that big can fly so quiet. I love the Airforce planes and should know more living so close to the base but they become common when you see them everyday you dont pay alot of attention to them. Im gonna go to the base and get some vid, its cool when they take off.
@truckguy1966 I dont want to sell it but it doesnt get the use it should so I think it needs to find a new home. Could use the extra cash right now as well, its still gonna hurt to see it go.
That looks like a 9N, but the 9N and 2N are basically the same tractor. 9N is older 1939 - 1941. The 2N was made from 1942 - 1947 when the 8N came out with a 4 speed and draft control. The coil is defiantly not stock and has been added. The coil normally sits on top of the distributor. Try this link for more info ytmag (dot) com / fordnclub / hist (dot) htm
@mongo5888 i wont let it go for less than what i want, its got too many memories to give it away for anythin less. I'll keep it and enjoy it for as long as it takes to get the right price and owner.

Looks like a 9n to me - what year I can not tell you. 1940 - 1942 Some where in there... You would have to run the numbers off the block to tell...
AxeMoose 1 year ago
well seeing it has i beam radius rods on it its ether a 1939 to a 1942 so its a 9n the 2n had oval radius rods
