@Owdfolkie I do believe it was originally a Blackpool thing added when the organ was refurbished after the fire in the 50s. It was also subsequently added to the Thursford Wurlitzer and (I think) its twin latterly at Turners in Northampton. The Ossett Town Hall Compton/Christie/Wurlitzer has it too.
In reality its a foxtrot but used to wonderful effect as a waltz. One of the joys of Theatre Organ playing...........taking tunes as they are, then making them something different. Well done Mark and to Phil too for following his lead.
Hi Kieran, at one time,'Fly Me To The Moon' was regularly used as the band to organ changeover. It was used in this clip as it happens to be a particular favourite of mine !
i have been to the tower ballroom on numerous occasions but have never heard this played as the changeover tune its usually around the world or fascination
we are off to blackpool in april and phil is on that day.....gonna be sat for hours....lol

Aah! The famous 'Blackpool Growl' came in briefly at 3m00s and again at 3m50s.
I was once told that particular mutation stop is unique to the Blackpool Wurlitzer...

I think a curtain should come down in between the two organs as the changeover happens.......would be more theatrical........
