This actually worked for me over 10 days in a row and still is working. Here's list of materials:

Polytheistic thermal compound (silver) (always in radio shack)

1/8 torkwinch

1/16 torkwinch

(The washers aren't necessary in his other vids)

and a flat head screwdriver.

The Playstation 1 had the "personified terror" where the screen goes suddenly fades black, the Atari Jaguar had the red screen of death. and those are the two I can think of off the top of my head.

Black Elite 360 hardly ever used.. got the same red ring thing, went through all these steps, turned it back on and everything fired up like new...put a game in and about 20 seconds the screen froze, same fucking 3 red blinking ass mother fuckers. @mannequinwizard Xbox 360 Slims (4gb/250gb) do not have this problem. They also don't scratch discs. As well as they are Kinect-Ready, with a built in Wi-Fi and very quiet. Xbox 360 S is the definitive version of Xbox 360.

But... I prefer the older models because I like my consoles bulky, primitive and changing the plates is also a plus.

Just a little tip - buy RROD'ed consoles on ebay for about $20 (make sure they've not banned from live by asking the seller) and then use the 3 vides from Milko in order to fix them. You'll gain anywhere from a 25 to 50 dollar profit on each one you sell after shipping/taxes :) Not to mention it takes a very small amount of time to fix them once you get the hang of it.

Excellent explanation on how to fix. Worked great for me. Had to re-do it because my washers were too thick and prevented the heat sinks from touching the chips. Gotta only use a very thin layer of thermal compound (got mine at Radio Shack), and keept the washers thin enough to allow full contact. Thanks!
