@Pommit Anyone had a opinions whether to go in or not. I think we should have not gone in there without a major post invasion plan. Bush went into Iraq without it and it screwed up the war in the 1st place. As for regime change, it was one of the reasons for the invasion. Remember the Iraq Liberation act signed by President Bill Clinton? It was a purpose to remove him so they could installed a Democratic leaders to make sure they comply with the U.N. mandates that Saddam violated for a decade.
Noel gallager is right, all british prime ministers are pro-usa,pro-war,tony should have liberated saudi arabia too, they have no freedom either...........
@ailingequation That's why i don't considered Britain European. They are more like British than European. Why do British considered themselves European?
Funny. You can always tell a liberal by his lack of a reasoned argument. Just wild assertions, bitter angry rants, and childish over-the-top name calling (Blair is a murderer; Bush is Hitler; Americans are Nazis). Boring and sad.
HES A TRAITOR AND A MURDERER AND ITS THE DUTY OF ALL GOOD BRITISH SUBJECTS TO DO HIM HARM OR KILL HIM IF WE ARE ABLE! HES AND AMERICAN DOG WHO HAS RUINED BRITAIN AND SHOULD BE PUT ON TRIAL FOR TREASON.
@presidentjamie He is a traitor. He lied to the BRITISH PEOPLE. He betrayed our trust and the oathes of British service and security personnel. He got men killed in order to satisfy his American masters. He is a murderer, a war criminal, a thief and worst of all a liar. And you are a traitors apologist. Lower your head you worthless dog.
@grimblebrumble17889 Your childish ranting isn't going to do any good. The problem is that people like you want to assign to blame to one person thus the real reasons that bad things happen. It's like blaming the quarterback for a loss when the defense team let the other score all the points. No matter what of how Iraq war justified or not, both Bush and Blair relied on international intel from Germany, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and many others ALL OF THEM said Saddam had active WMDs program.
And so John / Shahid, let’s not pretend that popularity counts for anything or that people generally make intelligent decisions in elections. They make decisions that FEEL good and ask little of them. Except in the Middle East, where people have historically not made any political decisions at all, and have abdicated their natural rights to tyrants. As Alexis de Tocqueville said, “The people get the government they deserve.”
Once Winston Churchill had successfully ensured Great Britain’s survival and the winning of the second world war, the British population had no further need for him and replaced with whom? The Keynesian, Clement Atlee, a man who orchestrated Great Britain’s steep economic decline, and who is barely remembered.
In the U.S., the electorate grew tired of being asked to fight and die for its security and for the freedom of people who neither wanted it nor deserved it, so what did they do? Replaced Bush, a politically guileless man of immense courage, with his antithesis – a man of no character or substance who will prove to be a political footnote in history.
No John / Shahid, I don’t live in the UK, though I have a British wife and am over there once or twice a year. But I don’t need to live in the UK to know that the Brits are about as stupid as the Americans when it comes to judging leadership. The courageous and, as history will judge, consequential Tony Blair became so unpopular that the British electorate, seeking someone who expected less of them, replaced him with the completely feckless Gordon Brown.
@shahideurope: Hated? Such a strong word. Popularity is the silliest, most myopic of all ways to judge leadership. Only history can judge the contexts and sub-currents in which actions were taken and the long term impacts of those actions. People generally are happy with leaders who promise them something for nothing (Nanny State) and don’t ask any sacrifices of them. Tell the citizenry to sacrifice, fight, and die for a cause greater than themselves, and you have revolt on your hands.
@broonpie: I'm sorry that your lives have turned out so badly for you that you hate yourself, your country, and its closest friends. And I'm sorry that your self-loathing leads you to delusional conspiracy theories. You need a fresh perspective on life. My advice to you? Put down the bong, move out of your parent's basement, and lose your virginity. You'll find these will clear your head and do wonders for your self esteem.
Thank God for men of courage like Mr. Blair. He has no more blood on his hands than Churchill or Thatcher. Some men can see beyond today, refuse to appease evil, and have the courage to do what needs to be done to save tomorrow. Mr. Blair is such a MAN. As are the British soldiers who served - volunteers all. Thank you Britain.
@LittleMikey2008 Americans love Tony Blair because Tony Blair loves War.
He set up Gaddafi in Libya so the American heroes can save the day. Let's put a lunatic dictator in charge of a country so 10 years later we can go bomb them.
Hitler and Gaddafi sitting in a tree, scapegoats made World Wars of three!
@LittleMikey2008 do you live in UK? If you did, you would know he is one of the most hated politician in the UK, his own party despised him and forced him out of power. In the 2005 election, his majority was more than halved from 160 to 60 because he insisted on giving Bush a blow job.
@LittleMikey2008 I am a member of the UK Labour party, as is Tony Blair, I was one of the people who put leaflets through doors trying to get people to vote for him. But now, even the Labour Party, my party has said that the war was wrong, his own party! I am grateful for the comments you make about the British militery, and I return them to those in the American armed services; it is not their fault that they were in 5000 cases sent to die in battle in Iraq, and for what? Nothing.
@TheRedflagflyer I disagree. I think servicemen and women died for a very good reason. If Saddam hadn't been dealt with in 2003, we'd have to deal with him at some time in the future again and again. The Iraq war was absolutely justified as was Afghanistan. And i'm about as Marxist as one can be.
@LittleMikey2008 Hes a murderer and a traitor who only ever served the interests of his dirty thieving American masters and dragged us into wars that were no concern of ours.
@LittleMikey2008 - Enough to make your skin crawl. Churchill does have blood on his hands - a good deal when consider such matters as the bombing of Dresden and the debacle of Gallipoli in WW1. Read your history. And men don't have to appease evil, but that's doesn't offer a free hand to invade countries and kill innocents for the people of removing a dictator. Besides, when evil Saddam was in power in the 80s, the US and UK were friendly. And the US and UK have aligned themselves with...

I'm not a Labour supporter and am very critical of them at times - but Tony Blair is without doubt in my opinion the best orator I have ever seen. And yes he is better than Obama.
@Pommit That is the good point, occupation of sovereign country is absolutely illegal defined by international law,and without mandate of UN,but invaders are on the run now,my question is, who is going to pay enormous destruction of the Iraq with casualty and anguish of this people.
@Lamondism LOL, never noticed that before, they are drak. Thats the funniest thing a liberal has commented lately, later they have some funny comments. I'm sure that Imamobama's eyes are much darker though...
Same way you Brits drew US into all the wars since the Revolution (which we are still fighting): WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War I, Gulf War II -- I hope you get the picture. We need to be in Britain, not Iraq. We need to Whip the Red Coats at last and once and for all. We don't need to be contributing to the whole world's problem in perpetuity, as we are now and always have been to some degree. To Hell with the British Empire! Let the Brits be our horses and let their horses feed our men.
@draphaelc Red Coats? Horses? What the fuck are you talking about? Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf Wars were all American lead, and Britain refused to fight in Vietnam. Get your facts straight
In the 1st WW the germans kept destroying american shipping so the american public became outraged and demanded war, the 2nd the Axis forces declared war on america. Korea and Vietnam was american paranoia over communism and Britain had no interests in either of those countries, and Iraq is as much Americas fault as it is Britains. We divided the middle east, you armed them and let them loose on one another, what did anybody think would happen?
Fox news is shockingly bad. It has its own imperial agenda and is guilty of considerable lies and manipulation. Nothing on this channel can be treated seriously. Fuck Rubert Murdoch, Tony Blair, Dick Cheyney, Donald Rumsfeld,John Reid.
daaammn fox news really sucked blairs cock...just incase you dont no, Tony blair was highly unpopular in britain when he was prime minster.Nobody really liked him
@Pommit From UN Security Res, 1483 "Noting the letter of 8 May 2003 from the Representatives of the
United States and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern
Ireland to the President of the Security Council (S/2003/538) and recognizing the
specific authorities, responsibilities, and obligations under applicable international
law of these states as occupying powers under unified command (the Authority), Recognizing US and UK as the authority. Doesnt really sound illegeal does it?
@ConservativeTimes - May! Almost two months after the beginning of the war when the UN was forced into accepting the fait accompli that the US and UK had presented to the world. The UN had to recognised that the US and UK were invading/occupying powers which gave the UN the ability to get involved to sort out the mess that was caused by very poor US planning. As the American govt/military had not planned for what would happen after invasion.
Wow, you did not pay attention in school. The resolution 1483 has not legitimized the invasion, that clearly violated Art2 of the UN-Charta. Just read it again.
1.) no selfdefense
2.) no humanitarian mission by the UN
The US/UK has violated UN law and the international community even had a right to defend Iraq.
@ConservativeTimes - No, not proper Al Qaeda units were training in Iraq. You had one main affiliate organisation in the north which was not suppressed, this is aside from the fact that America is a terrorist supporter itself. No WMD were found - so no proof of ownership. And what if Iraq had uranium, they certainly were not making strides to developing nuclear weapons, rather there was an inchoate attempts some biological strains. But then, why should Iraq abide by any imposed agreement?
@Pommit RU kidding? Why did they have to abide by imposed agreements? Iraq was in the unfornutate position of losing a war, and the price for ending it and Saddam staying in power was the signing of the cease fire agreements, which he never lived up to. I'm not sure why you want to continue to defend a brutal dictator and mass murderer, but the U.S. really isn't the bad guy here.
@ConservativeTimes - He never lived up to his agreements to continue allowing inspections, ok. Well more and more pressure should have been brought ot bear on the regime and alternatives found. Not the use of violence which left thousands dead in the wanton violence carried out by the US in cities such as Fallujah. But you seem to have a funny view of things. The war aim was not initially about removing Saddam, although the US govt. would have liked Saddam to go...
@ConservativeTimes - the initial war aim was to eliminate the supposed stocks of WMD which the US and British had no evidence of. This isn't about defending Saddam Hussein. He was awful. But it is about placing the burden of proof on the US and UK on their supposed need to invade and occupy. Besides the US and Iraq were on excellent terms whilst Saddam was killing Kurds. This isn't some war fought for humanitarian purposes.
@ConservativeTimes - You're a fool. Iraq and 9/11 are not related in terms of cause and effect. Saddam didn't have anything to do with 9/11. He didn't particularly like Al Qaeda. (He was still evil, but this isn't good enough reason to invade and isn't reason for the US to invade). But if the US was ever going to attack a country because it feared terrorists then Iran would have been the logical result. Iraq is just simply the result of a vendetta from the Gulf War and control of oil.
@ConservativeTimes your forgetting that saddam at 1 point was funded by the CIA ,, the the whole 9/11 thing was a false flag to support americas agenda and theres alot of proof 2 bak this up ,, send me a link that shows any part of the plane that crashed in pennsylvania or the pentagon ,, ie wing or chairs
@broonpie We did support Saddam at one point in order to stabllize the region. How you go from that to 911 was an inside job is beyond me. If you really believe what you are saying, then what do you base your reality on? You simply can't believe anything you see or read. How do I know youre not a government agent spewing disinformation?
@ConservativeTimes as 4 saying you cant believe every thing you read thisis true ,, dont believe me but do ur own research ,, b4 9/11 a army intelligence operation called (able danger) gave intelligence too the CIA of an attack but they ignored ? the CIA is corrupt fact,, show me independent proof that points to 9/11 not being a inside job,, its all about money ,, government spending ,, war budgets ,, controlling the oil market and central banking ,, its not about saving the kurds ha
@squibmalik It's refreshing to hear someone from the U.K. actually standing up for what's right. Balir was on the right side here. Most in the U/K. dont have the nads for this kind if thing anymore. What happened to the men who built the British Empire? Are the Hooligans the only men left in Britain?
@ConservativeTimes - But what YOU think is right is not everyones. I don't believe Might equals Right, which would seem to be the logic that you are operating under. But then I have to ask what you really understood the US and UK government's interests to be. Iraq (and Afghanistan) have NOTHING to do with making the lives of Iraqi people better. The US govt. couldn't care less what people are oppressed, especially when the US supports many countries that repress their people.
Is there a country of justice in the world, ??? Is there country of humanity, freedom and democracy??? Yes ,certainly there is,this is the Great Britain, one of the greatest and respected nation in the world, But how is possible that this great nation tolerate lair and criminal Toni Blair, who even laid the Icon to all of us, noble and graceful our The Quin Elisabet II,where is the justice for innocent people of Iraq.
God Bless Tony Blair--Love ya from the US!!

Let the Brits be our horses and let their horses feed our men.
draphaelc 1 year ago
@draphaelc Red Coats? Horses? What the fuck are you talking about? Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf Wars were all American lead, and Britain refused to fight in Vietnam. Get your facts straight
asathesh 1 year ago
In the 1st WW the germans kept destroying american shipping so the american public became outraged and demanded war, the 2nd the Axis forces declared war on america. Korea and Vietnam was american paranoia over communism and Britain had no interests in either of those countries, and Iraq is as much Americas fault as it is Britains. We divided the middle east, you armed them and let them loose on one another, what did anybody think would happen?

Fox news is shockingly bad. It has its own imperial agenda and is guilty of considerable lies and manipulation. Nothing on this channel can be treated seriously. Fuck Rubert Murdoch, Tony Blair, Dick Cheyney, Donald Rumsfeld,John Reid.

daaammn fox news really sucked blairs cock...just incase you dont no, Tony blair was highly unpopular in britain when he was prime minster.Nobody really liked him
kojimapie 2 years ago
@Pommit From UN Security Res, 1483 "Noting the letter of 8 May 2003 from the Representatives of the
United States and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern
Ireland to the President of the Security Council (S/2003/538) and recognizing the
specific authorities, responsibilities, and obligations under applicable international
law of these states as occupying powers under unified command (the Authority), Recognizing US and UK as the authority. Doesnt really sound illegeal does it?
ConservativeTimes 2 years ago
@ConservativeTimes - May! Almost two months after the beginning of the war when the UN was forced into accepting the fait accompli that the US and UK had presented to the world. The UN had to recognised that the US and UK were invading/occupying powers which gave the UN the ability to get involved to sort out the mess that was caused by very poor US planning. As the American govt/military had not planned for what would happen after invasion.
Pommit 2 years ago
Wow, you did not pay attention in school. The resolution 1483 has not legitimized the invasion, that clearly violated Art2 of the UN-Charta. Just read it again.
1.) no selfdefense
2.) no humanitarian mission by the UN
The US/UK has violated UN law and the international community even had a right to defend Iraq.
AustrianAtheist 1 year ago
@ConservativeTimes - No, not proper Al Qaeda units were training in Iraq. You had one main affiliate organisation in the north which was not suppressed, this is aside from the fact that America is a terrorist supporter itself. No WMD were found - so no proof of ownership. And what if Iraq had uranium, they certainly were not making strides to developing nuclear weapons, rather there was an inchoate attempts some biological strains. But then, why should Iraq abide by any imposed agreement?
Pommit 2 years ago
@Pommit RU kidding? Why did they have to abide by imposed agreements? Iraq was in the unfornutate position of losing a war, and the price for ending it and Saddam staying in power was the signing of the cease fire agreements, which he never lived up to. I'm not sure why you want to continue to defend a brutal dictator and mass murderer, but the U.S. really isn't the bad guy here.
ConservativeTimes 2 years ago
@ConservativeTimes - He never lived up to his agreements to continue allowing inspections, ok. Well more and more pressure should have been brought ot bear on the regime and alternatives found. Not the use of violence which left thousands dead in the wanton violence carried out by the US in cities such as Fallujah. But you seem to have a funny view of things. The war aim was not initially about removing Saddam, although the US govt. would have liked Saddam to go...
Pommit 2 years ago
@ConservativeTimes - the initial war aim was to eliminate the supposed stocks of WMD which the US and British had no evidence of. This isn't about defending Saddam Hussein. He was awful. But it is about placing the burden of proof on the US and UK on their supposed need to invade and occupy. Besides the US and Iraq were on excellent terms whilst Saddam was killing Kurds. This isn't some war fought for humanitarian purposes.
Pommit 2 years ago
@ConservativeTimes - You're a fool. Iraq and 9/11 are not related in terms of cause and effect. Saddam didn't have anything to do with 9/11. He didn't particularly like Al Qaeda. (He was still evil, but this isn't good enough reason to invade and isn't reason for the US to invade). But if the US was ever going to attack a country because it feared terrorists then Iran would have been the logical result. Iraq is just simply the result of a vendetta from the Gulf War and control of oil.
Pommit 2 years ago
@ConservativeTimes - What? The UK and the US are two of the biggest terrorists and terrorist supporters in this world.
Pommit 2 years ago
@ConservativeTimes your forgetting that saddam at 1 point was funded by the CIA ,, the the whole 9/11 thing was a false flag to support americas agenda and theres alot of proof 2 bak this up ,, send me a link that shows any part of the plane that crashed in pennsylvania or the pentagon ,, ie wing or chairs
broonpie 2 years ago
@broonpie We did support Saddam at one point in order to stabllize the region. How you go from that to 911 was an inside job is beyond me. If you really believe what you are saying, then what do you base your reality on? You simply can't believe anything you see or read. How do I know youre not a government agent spewing disinformation?
ConservativeTimes 2 years ago

ConservativeTimes 2 years ago
