  • Amazing man and incredible musician. May he RIP.

  • what a gent.

  • A really nice snippet of Dan's wonderful perspective. Thank you so, so much for posting this!!!

  • At 0:34 Dan, even back then, describes the reason why music has sunken to the level it has now. There was more emphasis placed on music videos than on music itself. So now you have the Brittanys, Beibers and Blacks of today's music world.

  • Remembering today 16-12-11.... Dan Fond memories Of the Guitarist Everyone Loved; Balladeer Extraordanaire. Regretfully Gone..................but not forgotten
  • cool

  • Dan was brilliant....not many performers could carry a whole show with just themself and a guitar and keep the audience mesmerized.. Nowadays, seems artists need to have a gimmick or at least a dance troup accompaniment to keep the audience interested. Dan had a way about him that drew you in and made you think he was singing your song--to you. Love the tone and quality of his voice--lots of emotion. Just one heck of a talented guy--sad he was passed so young.

  • Dear...zannadyke...Can this REALLY be the only thing you have to "wonder" about this brilliant man? A short simple answer for you..he fell in love! I don't know how old you are but for those of us that grew up with Dan, a true romantic, we know things don't always work out, but go for it anyway! Thank God, before he died, Dan did meet AND marry the love of his life...we should ALL be so lucky!

  • ...i wonder why he married 3 times and divorced twice?...

  • Can't help but think about this brilliant man this time of year, 'cause he sang one of my favorite Christmas songs ever, "Auld Lang Syne". He seems like such a down to eath, kind gentleman. RIP

  • Live in Brazil, I love Dan !!!!Love!!!!Love!!!

  • i grew up listening to his music, he's missed by many but his music still lives on.

  • Good Man.

  • I'm happy to share this with you all. Dan's music touched a multitude of people in various ways, but it was his character and integrity behind the music that made many of us lifelong fans.

  • @minstrelwinds thanks for sharing!

  • Thank you thank you. Boy was he ever handsome and great!!

  • To be able to learn a little bit more about Dan is a true treasure. Thanks for posting!

  • What a surprise to have found this video! Since I was a very young girl ( about 14 years old ), I became a big fan of this troubadour, Dan Fogelberg. Now that he is no longer on this planet I feel a bit hollow, but this video fills this hollow place in my soul with lots of joy!

    Thank you!

    Greeting from The Netherlands.

  • Thank you hardly seems enough to say, and yet that is what wells to my heart. It was such a joy to see this video/interview with Dan. It reinforces why DanFans are exactly that. Hugs and Merry Christmas to you.

  • I keep listening to this, hearing Dan say he doesn't think a good love song is ever out of fashion, that he is a hopeless romantic, believing in truth and love and honor & all those "out of date values" that to me are never out of date, ending with Dan's face and laughter. This is so moving to me. Other True Dan Fans will understand what I'm trying to say.... Thank you again for this treasured memory of Dan.

  • Dan's values were never out of date - it's just very sad the rest of the world has lost them. Dan held true to his beliefs and we, as Dan Fans, should carry them forward. Never let them go - hold on to what you believe in and keep Dan's words in your mind and close to your heart.

  • Interviews with Dan are so special to me, and rare to find. By sharing himself through talking, we hear the wonderful man behind the incredible music he wrote, played and sang to and for us, always sharing himself.. A "Favorite" to be viewed again and again. Thank you so much for sharing this clip of Dan. It's a true, rare treasure.

  • I remember hearing a radio interview of Dan in 1984. Funny I was just thinking about what he said about the imagination in your head. I still remember the first time in a parking lot of a condo in Rockville. And that sadness of having your heart broken. If the song were video, you would be an observer and not a participant, which is why his songs tugs at your heart so much--it's not about Dan--it's about you.

  • @TheLastNail When I read your comment, I was struck by how well you expressed the reason Dan's music touches so many people so deeply in just seven words "...it's not about Dan--it's about you." Well said.

  • Oh, this is wonderful to see! Dan does look young and beautiful! Thank you for this posting! And thank you, River for sharing!

  • So cool to see this...rare find, great interview..thanks alot!

Blessings, from a life long Dan Fan 1973

    River...

  • Thanks for sending this our way! It's a gem and a keeper !!

  • Very nice indeed...sorry for the bad click, mouse tangle...

  • I loved this entire very short interview ! Your right, as Dan did so well, he made himself the observer within many of his songs and not always the participant, even though most of his songs were autobiographical.

  • Where did you find this....??!! It's wonderful !! Dan looks soooooo young and full of life - wow. It must be very rare now to find anything new with Dan in it. This clip is very much appreciated. Thank you for sharing, minstrelwinds

  • Great to here Dan. Thank you minstrelwinds.
