You know whats funny, considering inflation and how devalued the dollar is getting I would think jewlery wouldnt be that bad of an investment since there will always be a demand for precious metals. Jewelry is not a bad investment. Especially with the gold price where it is today at around $1400 per ounce as opposed to a few years ago when it was about $400 per ounce. That means if you bough gold jewelry back then and decided to melt the gold today for cash, you'll get 3 times as much as your investment. You know whats funny, considering inflation and how devalued the dollar is getting I would think jewlery wouldnt be that bad of an investment since there will always be a demand for precious metals. Maybe the jewler who sells them marks them up a lot for his profit margin and that makes them a bad investment? I would think you could always melt it down later and get most of your money back or even more money. I suppose there are still better ways to use your money regardless.

Jewelry is not a bad investment. Especially with the gold price where it is today at around $1400 per ounce as opposed to a few years ago when it was about $400 per ounce. That means if you bough gold jewelry back then and decided to melt the gold today for cash, you'll get 3 times as much as your investment. Also diamonds went up a bit too so I'm afraid he's absolutely wrong.
