How sweet and poetic in the land of The Boston Tea Party the American People have made history and put up a road block into what is the Obama Taxation runaway socialist train.
The Dems running for re-election will care about the midterms. Ask them.
More venom from liberals. Anytime you disagree with them, they insult or try to demean you. I guess you use the term "redneck" because you see yourself as compassionate and enlightened.
If the Dems do that, they will be viewed as thwarting the will of the people and will be slaughtered in the mid-term elections. Additionally, if Scott Brown wins, Dems will desert the health care bill like rats from a sinking ship and very little will get passed. Dems will not risk their re-election chances by pulling such a blatant manuever. A Scott Brown win would be the best thing for the Dems.
Martha Coakley, just another America hating Marxist disguised as a Democrat wanting to take your money and freedoms to give to someone else.
Vote SCOTT BROWN for US Senate. If for no other reason then because he is agarinst the Cap and Trade bill that will destory what little industry we have left in this country.
I, and many of my brothers, would vote for a optional reduced health care plan in order to avoid the tax, and trade the cadillac plan for higher wages.
That would be a clever way to avoid the tax and have some leverage to negotiate for higher wages. Another plan that would benefit the union tradesmen would be to reduce the burden of government taxes and regulations and the demand for new construction would rise. Get the illegal aliens out of the construction trades and your wages would rise also. It is like the Democrats drill holes in your boat then try to sell you a bucket and expect you to be grateful.
The dems want to tax hard working americans ....and you watch.....Odumba will grant amnesty to 20 million illegal aliens and give them absolutely free health care...well......the working americans will pay
I was basing this on $15K worth of taxable health benefits. Many plans would be taxed higher and some lower but when you start doing the math it equals a punitive tax hike for many people. Raising taxes during a recession is not the way to stimulate the economy. If raising tax rates helps us then the Democrats should just tax us at 100% and make everything great ... only kidding Mr. Obama, please do not try this .. they tried it in Russia + China and even the Commies realized it doesn't work.
My father in law's Philly Sherriff's retirement benefits include a "cadillac plan." They paid for his youngest daughter's hormone therapy (and still do) to ensure she didn't die or have stunted growth.
He had to have that benefit and worked at a low paying job he hated because it kept his daughter alive. There are thousands of others with special needs children that this tax would hose too.
My sister and her fiancee live in Boston, they're voting Brown. Enthusiastically.
People of MA please stop the corruption in WA. We must slow down the political machine until the people can evaluate the implications of the out of control spending. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely."
No matter Republican or Democrat, too much power rests in the hands of one party.
But still health care would stay active even if Dems loose in the Congressional election in November, If we keep Scott Brown out by just delaying his introduction after the health care bil; vote than there is nothing he can do about it anymore. And if Dems loose more seats or even GOP gains control in November and want to change the health care bill AFTER it has been approved already and signed by Obama, than Obama will just veto the GOP changed health care plans. Simple
Given that meny are seated in 3 days I am sure their is legal recourse to the democrats dragging their feet! An Obama veto would be the first smart thing he has done!
It has nothing to do with Union healthcare plans it's healthcare plans in general. No one, union or otherwise should have to pay this premium. The Fact that the Union leaders made a backroom deal to protect their own and not give a shit about anyone else is disgusting. I am a union member and I'm a republican voting for Scott brown.
I am sickened by the idea that the democrats attack any one with a "cadilac plan". They have spent decades using verbage that belittles any one who gets ahead. "wind fall profits" and "tax cuts for the rich" ect. They want to bring every one down! They promote education as a way out of poverty then tear you down when they deside your standard of living is above average? Why would any minority vote for their message?
What a joke! Obama was on TV, without a tie, he's so hip & cool, stumping for Coakley & spewing one lie after another. The lame-stream media was scrolling while he spoke, but instead of exposing Obama as a LIAR they just repeated what he was saying. There will be an attempt to steal this election through voter fraud & intimidation, as was during Obama's election. People are so BLIND. The Dems agenda is to create an ever increasing amount of people dependent on government. Modern day slavery.
They probably will. That is the Democrat Party way. Curry favors to win votes. The Union leadership has their own self interest in mind, not that of their members, which if they checked would find that not all of them are Democrats.
The idea that unions need to be deferred from the Cadillac payroll tax is because they gave up wages for higher insurance is idiotic. Anyone regardless of union or not can make the same argument. If I am offered a non union job for $20 an hour with insurance I can also negotiate for more of a wage if I dont want the insurance.
I made this video before Obama bribed the unions. Taking over the entire healthcare industry to help the uninsured is like a mechanic wanting to install a new engine when you just need sparkplugs. It is way too expensive and unecessary and will likely lead to more problems. How long do you trust someone who is trying to screw you ? Do you say they only tried to screw me twice maybe next time they will be honest . No, it is time to find someone new to fix the problem.
Great post! Thanks for getting the "correct" word out there! I wonder when being a thinker or person who thought about their vote was looked at as being wrong or distorted?.. Could we be changing that tone and changing the way thinking minds react to bad govenrment? If anything Scott Brown has shown we are all thinking.
The tax on "cadillac" plans has been changed to exclude health care plans resulting from collective bargaining (such as union contracts).
Voting for Brown will mean congress will have to pass the senate bill without any changes, meaning this exemption won't be in the bill - and the cadillac tax will apply to union workers.
I am in a union but I am pro-American before I am pro-union. I do not believe that the unions should get an exemption and other Americans should have to pay a bigger share.
It's excluded for a time so that unions can renegotiate their deals so that less of their total compensation comes in the form of health care. With salary taxed and health coverage not, it creates an incentive for a union to negotiate as much of its members' compensation as possible in health insurance, creating unusually expensive plans.
And if Brown wins the bill may be dead, or congress may choose pass the senate bill with no changes - meaning that union plans will be taxed.
Coakley is getting desperate. Obama is coming to MA in order to help her campaign. People of MA stand up and take your seat and rally around Scott Brown. America supports you! GO SCOTT GO!!!
Coakley = Higher Taxes, More Government Intrusion, More of the same old DC insider politics. She never met a lobbiest that she didn't like. If you liked Teddy, You'll love Martha.
Massachusetts Democrats' chickennnnnnnnnnnns are coming home to roost!
That shamefully fraudulent law-switching to get a 60th vote after Kennedy died; they passed a law when Repub Romney was governor saying the governor couldn't make interim senator appointments, just to avoid possibly getting a Republican senator. Then when there's a Democrat governor, they switch it back after Kennedy dies to get another immediate vote on healthcare.
@LennonLives4Ever Police and firefighters are one thing the government should provide.
Whatever happened to Deval hiring more police? They're being laid off and fire stations are closing. The cost of living here is about 35% above the national average. What are we getting out of it?
Medicaid has been around for people who can't afford insurance, which is another matter I'm not getting into.
@ramsjb.Your ignorance is BOLD and BRIGHT with your comment! Why dont you educate yourself instead of denigrate Americans with terms like tea baggers! Idiotic libs do not understand decency and respect. What specifically do you hate about Palin and Tea party movement, cant say can you? I guess us "tea baggers" can now refer to you as n.e.g.r.o. loyalist. My understanding that that word is a okay these days!
For the last 200 years, trickle down economics and our private sector have proven to be very effiecient, reliable and dependable. And we should rely on these to this day rather than allow our government to transform into an oligarchy where their power is no longer limited. Healthcare is a very sensitive issue, that's why it should be decided by each individual state...kinda a good reason that the 10th ammendment exists, wouldn't you agree?
Brown has been pretty clear that he's not interested in the voters, but special interests. We need tax revenue to fund essential services and programs that every day Bay Staters need. Vote for the candidate who's in touch with YOU, not some company who wants to empty your bank account!
Yes, but when government gets involved in anything, there are big winners and big losers...guess who the winners are :/ And it's funny how nobody ever considers the amout of debt everyone else is in. Ever since we've adopted socialist principles, we've been broke too.
I have to say that those socialist principles have literally saved my family. Were it not for Social Security and Medicare, I would be dead b/c priv ins co's think that kidney dialysis is too expensive to treat for more than anything on an emergency basis. My gov stepped up and covers my treatment, & that allows me to stay alive. I know you can't put a price on a life, and it'd be unfair to ask another to do that where I'm concerned, but now that I've been through it, I'd do it for someone else.
Let me tell you a little story about Social Security..it's been bankrupting our nation for 7 decades. Medicare has been too. And I might be pulling this out of my rear, but it seems to me the reason insurance companies are getting more expensive is because of government expansion by forcing regulations after regulations and taxing them at rates that are continuing to rise.
@ramsjb yeah, that's what those principles are for - to give a hand up to people encountering unfortunate circumstances. It's when these things grow that they are especially subject to abuse - in some cases, people can live comfortably on a social program where the alternative is a minimum wage job. That should not be the case. I'm with Franklin - the best way to extinguish poverty is to make it uncomfortable and provide help/incentives to rise from it rather than perpetuate it via subsidies.
hear hear tyvon, and the best way to make it "uncomfortable" is to have charity all be private. Give everyone a 60% tax cut, throw out the entire welfare state, and let the American people, the most generous in the world in charity giving, despite the big amount we pay in taxes, take care of the poor. It's too easy to just fill out forms and get money from the wasteful govt. Having to go to people in your city and neighborhood for help personally will weed out the lazy thru shame.
Don' settle for a Canidate just yet. Does anyone remember how Obama schmooozed his way into office? WOW, he seemed so cool at first, at least to the oblivious zombies. Well, he's even still trying to be COOL while he bends us over without lube. Please remember.... there's a difference between being a politician and being a Statesman. We need more statesmen and less lizard people.
Scott Brown is going out and meeting the people in the community. He is sending the message that he will represent his constituents in Massachusetts first and America second.
Modern Day Campaign:
Martha Coakly is relying on her base to vote for her and concentrating on fund raising so she can blitz the airwaves with campaign ads that will make her opponent look bad to get the undecideds.
Scott Brown is all for raising taxes...but in a special way. Cut taxes now, run up huge deficits, and then force democrats to raise taxes to balance things out. Two wars on the national credit card. Brown supports them.
Marijuana reform is more important both morally, economically and socially. The media has everyone all drummed over health care like it is the center of the universe. They have tunnle vision.
@TuneSlingr2 That's because weed is "recreational". Currently, the fact is that it's illegal. Those are reasons that it's a lower priority than the healthcare debate. Think about it - knowing it's illegal, some people made a choice to break the law and do it anyway. They should be punished for breaking a law. I'm in favor of changing the law to make it legal, but I'm going to obey the law as it is. I've been doing so for a long time. I can wait a little longer to avoid a disaster.
Aren't there MORE IMPORTANT things than drugs right now? The fact that terrorists are getting the SAME rights as we are is unfair, and yet the Democrats seem to favor this notion, along with passing a healthcare bill that will increase taxes further. Shall I continue? SCOTT BROWN FOR SENATE
@TuneSlingr2 - Ha,, you have mad an astute observation. Pehaps your State has been infiltrated heavily by NeoCon-necticutts.
It will take a little more that one Senator to make a difference, though this is not to say that just ONE couldn't in fact make a significant difference. Please contribute thoughts to a solution aimed at major housecleaning sessions. A thought that ole Brown had a fairly cool look about him but he obviously is an asskisser if he played the Marijuana game to collect money
All you liberal socialist marxist facist racist nazi obama democrats, be afraid, be very, very afraid..!!!! Scott Brown is like the real normal average amercans and we will be handing you far left liberal socialist marxist facist nazi's, your FIRED pink slips very soon..!!
I agree with with you on this issue, however Im not sure if Scott Brown can pull this election off in a liberal state of Massachusetts, however I will make this point though, all you Republicans and Conservatives in that state better get your ass out there and vote in Scott Brown, if you know what is best fore your state and our country, to get away from this rotton health care Obama machine!!!
I've been waiting a long time for this, but we all have. We defeated the liberals on their own ground, and the beatings will continue on, haha.

I would vote Brown except that he sponsored too many insane marijuana bills last year. He destroys lives and jails kids for money. Thats not cool
Coakley is near as bad but at least she isnt calling for mandatory minimums for any amount of marijuana.
Were doomed either way. They are both insane tyrants who represent big lobbies and not the people.

@TuneSlingr2 that's really a non-issue when compared to the impending healthcare legislation.

@tyvon2000
A Non Issue? Tell that to the near million a year who's lives are destroyed by the police over marijuana.
TuneSlingr2 2 years ago
@TuneSlingr2 I guess if that's more important to you than the several hundred million this bill will affect....

@tyvon2000

I mean, of course, the long-term debt, increased cost of care, quality of care, etc.
tyvon2000 2 years ago
@TuneSlingr2 .... especially considering a bill introduced by Brown such as that would have no chance in the majority Democrat senate.
tyvon2000 2 years ago
