As we all now know, this gifted Grenadian athlete went on to win the 400 metres title at the SENIOR World Championships - which took place in Daegu, in August 2011. Moreover, just one week after his nineteenth birthday, he set a personal best time of 44.36 ...... very impressive indeed.
I predict that Mr James and Mr Wariner will finish in first and second positions respectively (in the 400 metres) at the Olympic Games in London next year. However, I have no idea which one of these
@MrLfitz1 Thats completely wrong. You're upset that people are striving to be the best? You're upset because other people are satisfied with being beat? Hmm.
@MrKarlozz I could understand why he would be pissed for missing the World Youth Record by only by .10 seconds. I would be upset myself. But hey at least he won.
wow that guy is a total douche, he gets all pissed cuz he missed the record by a little bit and he just brushed off all the other guys trying to shake hands or something.
Hahahaha nice video did you know that Kirani is my son? I'm 11 years old and my PB in 400m is 45.67 I hope one day to make the olympics. Also, I've jumped a personal best of 17.27m in triple jump!
Greenz to da world!! big up Kirani. Only 17 and has 3 world records and by-the-way he totally ERASED Usains' 6 yr record in the CARITA games: Kirani ran 45:45 and bolt was 46:35
dude just ran 45.7 indoors for University of Alabama. We're going to see him against the NCAA's best!!! THis guys is more of a freak than obea moore, and his physique is more suited for further improvement with age. He's going to be a player in 2012, especially with teh competition of NCAA's.
@Kar16d lol, no i'll stand by it. congrats 2 him. but how many ncaa champs don't end up with olympic gold or WRs? maybe he does, maybe not. just sayin...
yow kirani u know this a kem costa rican king jajaja...so you coach call me but any way you know you a di man!!! respect mi friend still dat mi from costa rica me proud of you cah u a mi friend yu zeet see you in a next tournament str888!!!
It will be very intresting to see what he will do when he's competing against 400m runners like Lashawn merrit and wariner when he gets older. I bet he will be a tough one for them
He needs to change his attitude lol.

Does anyone know what Kirani James was mad about at the end? He seemed really pissed off at the end despite setting a new meet record.
JoshMcRay 2 months ago
@JoshMcRay I assume he was angry because he did not break the World Youth record, only the Championship record.

[Continuing on from my previous 'post' about Kirani James]: two exceptional athletes will take the Gold medal in that prestigious race.

In 2012, Mr James will become the first non-American quarter miler to break the elusive 44 second barrier.

trackextrordinaire 2 years ago
nice run, gr8 athlete but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
45.2 as a teen is awesome but how many others have run so fast, so early and disappeared?
marlon ramsey in texas, obea moore in california both ran 45 low in high school and were never heard from after 1996.
i'm sure kirani james will keep winning in juniors, but there's no real way 2 predict success on the next level.
just sayin...
