you guys also have to Remember the SEC is a much tougher conference to run in due to Defenses being much better and larger than other conferences. Most college Football conferences focus more on offense and scoring while the SEC focuses so much on defense.
@frogboy122192 the sec is not tougher to run in, when I watch MOST sec teams, I just see pathetic offensive play, not great defensive play, with the exception of LSU and Alabama. The Big 10 is just as tough to run in. The only differnence is the speed at positions like cornerback.
@dwid1984 Every Team in the SEC with the exception of Ole Miss can beat just about any team in the Big 10. The SEC is the toughest conference, has the best teams, and has produced more national champions than any other conference including the last 6 champions are all from the SEC and the SEC has never lost a BCS championship game of course that will end this year since the SEC is SOO good that they have both the number 1 and number 2 team.
@frogboy122192 Lets see, Tim Tebow dominated, that was about it. Jim Tressel was always a bad coach when it came to coaching evenly matched teams. LSU won on the back of Jacob Hester. Alabama beat a Texas team with a true freshman that is currently 3rd string. They were still in the game in the 4th quarter. Alabama LOST the previous year to Utah in the Sugar Bowl. LSU replaying Alabama just proves the system is flawed. They get to cherry pick their out of conference opponents
why was TCU forced to play Boise St in the Fiesta Bowl? Oh thats right, wouldn't want to have the SEC exposed like when Utah beat Alabama. Remember, the SEC has the largest television contracts, so of course your are going to be brainwashed into thinking they are the best conference. Just Ole Miss? what about Vanderbilt, Miss St, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee. Boise beat Georgia this year and last year they LOST to UCF of all teams. Iowa beat South Carolina when they played
why have several of the SEC teams struggled against FCS opponents? Auburn barely beat Utah State. Auburn barely beat Oregon last year, and I don't think the pac 10/12 is as strong as the big 10. Oh yeah can't forget another crappy team, Kentucky, they lost their bowl game last year to Pittsburgh. Ohio State beat Arkansas last year. Mich St struggled against Alabama, but I guarantee it wouldve been different if they had played Wisconsin
and yes Wisconsin lost to TCU, but TCU last year was 10x better than the Utah team that beat Alabama. The defense was top notch plus an NFL star at qb. How are the SEC's athletes panning out? Pierre Thomas who didn't see much playing time is better than Mark Ingram the "Heisman Winner". SEC dominance is a myth, they are a top heavy conference. They have the biggest tv contracts which pays for the best coaches and facilities but with the new realignments its going to be more even
compare him to Montee Ball over 1600 rushing yards with 38 touchdowns. i mean is there any comparison? p.s. welcome to the Big Ten Nebraska fits right in
@laxer034 monte ball has the best offensive line in the country, Wisconsin has been able to put anybody behind there and have them put up big numbers, even a fat john clay. Monte Ball actually has someone that can throw the football Rusell Wilson 31 tds 3 int. Martinez looks terrible throwing the ball, Burkhead looked better throwing the ball. 1900 yards 12 tds 7 int. Terrible at making reads
Martinez has been dissapointing , he looked much more promising as a sophomore. He has regressed, its like hes not trying to get better, his accuracy has gotten worse, his mechanics are sloppier, he constantly makes the wrong running the option. Hopefully he puts it together next year, and Nebraska's defense steps up, they can be a legit contender, thats right national title
@dwid1984 Actually, Martinez is a sophomore THIS year. I think you meant to say he looked better as a freshman. If he ever becomes an effective passer the Husker offense will be unstoppable. Next year looks very good for Nebraska but the following year looks like the one they could compete for a national championship.
@spiderdragon1969 It would have to be next year, none of the backs have shown the potential to be workhorses like Rex. They can be playmakers but Rex is who you go to when the offense is stalling. Unless they really bulk up. They all have the potential to be playmakers but none are over 180 at this point. Ameer showed the most promise but doesn't have the frame to be an every down back, maybe a Jeff Demps role but I can't see Martinez becoming Tebow, more like Crouch
@dwid1984 dude sorry but thats not true. When Ball wasn't in and they stuck the other wisconsin back in (James White) he wasn't nearly as productive and the team didnt look nearly as good. im not bashing Burkhead he's a good back and honestly, i don't even know why im arguing over this anymore cuz Trent Richards won it and frankly i think we can both agree that he didn't deserve it.
@laxer034 James White didn't look good running for close to 700 yards 5.1 ypc and 6 tds? Kind of like how Montee Ball didn't look "nearly as good" as John Clay in 2009 when he ran for 391 yards 4 ypc and 4 tds. Clay had 1517 yards rushing and 18 tds and is mediocre. Oh wait, is this the same White that ran for 1,000 yards when given the carries in 2010? with 14 tds and a higher ypc. Unfortunately he is under 200 pound and not suited for carrying the ball 20x/gm in the big 10
Trent Richardson is good but overrated just like Mark Ingram. Just another hyped up SEC rb that runs behind gaping holes. Eddie Lacy was able to come in and average 7.5 ypc and 7 tds behind the same line, over 600 yards on around 80 carries. You have to look at the situation and evualte the skillset. The offensive coaching at Nebraska isn't that great, he doesn't get big holes all the time, and he was hurt most of the sason because the coaches insisted he bulk up even though he was 210
He should win the heisman because he is a White running back. Oh wait that would be a racist statement in some peoples opinion. Well lets put it another way, since hes a minority he should have special privileges and more people should vote for him.
@frogboy122192 no he deserved to be a doak walker finalist because he carried that offense on his back and was one of the top rusher in the country. He has been playing injured so his big play ability has been limited. Next year maybe. If Taylor Martinez develops his passing just a little bit they could be dangerous.
@dwid1984 lol it was a joke Dwid, He really deserved alot more recognition than he got this year and next year he will probably be one of the top 5 best runners in the nation. now on Mark Ingram being overrated i don't agree with that statement at all, maybe his senior year he didn't meet up to expectations but thats because every team bama played focused on nothing but stopping him and Alabama's O-line wasn't near as good as in 09. Richardson is not as good as Ingram, but he is a close 2nd.
@13fnf you do have a volum button. Besides, what did you want to hear, the same hip hop crap that everyone else uses? shit is overplayed. This is called highlight music. Youtube only allows so many songs otherwise they disable the audio.
@dwid1984 I wouldn't have to use a volume button if you didn't pick shitty music that completely robs the video of all it's energy and passion. You could have at least used a metal song or a punk song that's actually got energy to it as opposed to cheesy 80s crap that's better off in a crappy 80s chick flick B movie.
@13fnf you are the only complaint. If I use metal or punk I have dozens. If I have rap or hip hop I have dozens. I can't please everybody and find a song that isn't banned by youtube. I usually like to use classic rock but its all banned for the most part. So Im guessing movies like Rocky didn't pump you up? These aren't from chick flicks, there mostly from 80's movies with tough guys. Yes this is what people listened to in the 80's.
you want a real improvement give me actual song ideas for the next Burkhead video instead of references to 2 entire genres. Most metal songs don't fit as well as punk.
@dwid1984 That's easy. Rise Against...Give It All. NoFX...Linoleum. Sick Of It All...Us vs. Them. Sick Of It All...Built To Last. Motorhead...Ace of Spades. Black Flag...Rise Above...Just to name a few...
@13fnf Linoleum for a highlight video? How can i take that serious? That song is about a total loser. Ace of Spades gets blocked, Rise Above is good but last time I used a black flag song it was blocked. Those are 2 are when Sick of it All was declining and bi polar, are they hardcore? are they oi?. There best album is blood sweat no tears, sucks when his voice changed, Rise Against is played out on highlights
@dwid1984 Lol...SOIA wasn't anywhere near oi...Clearly you're thinking about the wrong band...And even if Rise Against is played out, it's better than this crap...As is linoleum...And it's not about what the song is about...it's about the energy...Duh.
@13fnf yes, they had some albums that were oi/melodic punk influenced. Go back and listen to the first album. Nothing like their last ones. Same thing with Agnostic Front, they tried have more of an oi sound. I know what band I am talking about, there are oi bands that sound like that, you don't have to sound like a 70's oi band from England for it to be oi.
@dwid1984 So...what you're saying is that a band can sound absolutely nothing like oi, but can still be oi...That's like saying Slayer might have been a country band at one time...It makes no sense at all.
@13fnf no, im saying it can oi influenced, and if you don't think those albums were, then you haven't listened to enough oi. Im starting to get a sense you don't have an ear for things
@dwid1984 Lol...the only part of the rocky movies that pumped me up was when he beat the hell out of his opponents. That music sucked too. The 80's sucked in general...which is exactly why 80's music shouldn't be used for a Burkhead video...And FYI, I've seen a TON of these videos with punk and metal, and even rap, and not once have i seen anyone talk about the music...because usually, the music used heightens the mood...this music just makes the video harder to watch.
@13fnf 80's music rocked, and without it we wouldn't have the music we have today, espescially the punk stuff you speak of. I have personally made tons of videos with, hip hop, punk and metal. The most hated was the punk and metal. You know why you don't see those comments? because i delete them, otherwise the front page would just be about the music, kind of like how its getting here, so i'll probably delete this. comments should be about the footage. You should be happy someone put it together
@dwid1984 ...Right...Lol...If you didn't put it together, there's a million other people out there that would've...So don't jump on your soap box just yet there buddy....Lol...
@13fnf you don't even realize how oi influenced those songs are because you failed to mention the last song on the video.did you even know who it was? Sick of it All, their first album. That is hardcore without Oi influence. Notice how different it is from some of the newer stuff. The entire first album sounded like that.
@dwid1984 Exactly. SOIA WITHOUT oi influence...See? Not all punk bands were influenced by Oi. I'm surprised it took you so long to add that song to the video.
@13fnf youre not understanding. SOIA's first album wasn't oi influenced, the later ones were. It didn't take me so long to add it, it was on the video the entire time, you just never bothered to watch all the way through. I never said all punk bands were oi influenced, but the melodic ones tend to be.Agnostic Front used to be more hardcore before being oi influenced.
@13fnf how does that make no sense? go listen to the old punk bands like the germs, its raw and harsh, black flag, minor threat. Then go listen to the old oi bands cocksparrer like england belongs to me and then listen to af us vs them and tell me its not oi influenced. Its the same type of music except his vocals are harsher and its a little more modern. No not all melodic punk is oi influenced, you have bands like hot water music that aren't.
After the Oi! movement lost momentum in the United Kingdom, Oi! scenes formed in continental Europe, North America, and Asias. Soon, especially in the United States, the Oi! phenomenon mirrored the hardcore punk scene of the early 1980s, with Oi!-influenced bands such as Agnostic Front, Iron Cross, and Anti Heros. Later American punk bands such as Rancid and Dropkick Murphys have credited Oi! as a source of inspiration.
@HooligansInc1 other than being white, no. Burkhead has more agility and more moves in his arsenal. Not to mention he weighs about 20 to 30 pounds less. Burkhead isn't a small back but he isn't 240-250. He is around 215-220 at 5'10. He is more like a Roger Craig meets Mike Rozier.
Sexy rexy!!! At the game today Rex landed on his knee and got cramped, the whole stadium was holding their breath, HE'S THE ENTIRE OFFENSE!! There was a mom with two little kids that came from ALASKA just to see Rex!! But you know what? Rexy came back the next play, and ran 20 yards for a touchdown!!!! GO BIG RED!!
Rex is good look up Bobby rainy he's at a college that's new to 1-A and the team is not all that but he's good and will probley get picked in NFL in draft
He isn't the biggest RB, he isn't the strongest RB, he isn't the fastest RB, he isn't the flashiest RB... But he has twice the heart of any RB in the nation, and the guy isn't a workhorse, he's an ENGINE. 22 horsepower.
@TheNastyShitler he is stronger than most backs, he has the power of a back that is 230 pounds, he is pretty fast, very light on his feet/shifty. I would say he is flashy, he dances on his feet, very subtle footwork that people don't notice that allows him to change direction without making dramatic noticeable cuts that other backs make. He was a stud in hs and I remember thinking "hes not going to be able to do that at the next level" and sure enough he is.
Rex could win the Heisman Trophy. He is that damned good. If he was the feature player I really believe he could win it. He is a spectacular running back. Terrific receiver, and a better passer than Martinez. Rex's biggest strength is his leg-drive and balance. His cutting ability is exceptional. He's up to 218 pounds and is deceptively fast. But his vision and swift cutting ability is exceptional. If every Husker played with his heart and determination we would destroy any opponent.
@budqt1 HAHAHA are you crazy? We have depth at QB, and desperately need Burkhead at IB. Brion Carnes ring a bell? The only reason he looked good in the wildcat is because the kid was willing to work his tail off and make plays under a Watson O! Nobody else stepped up on offense like Burkhead. Taylor was injured, and Burkhead stepped up and played with effort. However, that doesn't mean he should be QB. Burkhead will be the next big IB at Nebraska because he is willing to step up, but not at QB.
Watched him for 4 years at my al mater of Plano HS - trust me when I tell you he is just getting started. As a starter he gains strength through-out a game - the best of Rex is yet to come!
Underrated.

There was a mom with two little kids that came from ALASKA just to see Rex!! But you know what? Rexy came back the next play, and ran 20 yards for a touchdown!!!! GO BIG RED!!

If every Husker played with his heart and determination we would destroy any opponent.

if martinez gets injured again we should put him in qb
budqt1 6 months ago
