  • I think I remember hearing about this case while it was happening.

  • Bitch tht ain't abuse its called u had the pants u had to take care of them. Usa is a nation made of law Wich makes it free. Ppl can lawsuit whoever the fuck they want. If ppl could not lawsuit tht would mean no personal rites no personal rights = not being able to protect yourself or stuff. Si deal with it bitch. Law makes dis country strong.

  • @beto500ize AGreed. I've never seen a country legally bomb innocent people until I learned about Amerika as a child.

  • @beto500ize and folks like you weaken this nation

  • DC Judge: "Why not $55 million? Oh no, that would be greedy." How did that asshole come up with that specific number 54 mil

  • Watch movie call " Hot coffee "" then you understand how this work..

  • there are ck and balance in old judicial system ,, but no longer after tort reform.. there are no way for an plaintiff to win an 54 million on an pants.. the judge would have be drug or drank or got an gun on this head by the plaintiff .. in order for the judge to render an judgement for the plaintiff .. just because anybody can add numbers on the summon papers don't mean that guy can collect sht ,, this is reason why no lawyer even want to take this case, cause they know judge would toss out

  • i laughed and then i cried

  • Hey has anybody made a video documenting the people suing these people? For all we know that person could have been Bret Farve and his unclean pants cost him a 54 million contract for a wrangler commercial.

  • This lawsuit shows two things about americans:

They have become so greedy to the point where they can sue for 54 million dollars over a pair of pants.

    BUT:

Althrough our legal system has been in the dumps for quite a while now, it is great to see it's still effective enough to recognise this as bullshit and bring a proper verdict to all party involved.

  • I used to go there....

  • Why do the americans always claim damage and wanna have millions of dollars for every fuck happening to them?

Actually I'm happy that I live in Germany, where something like that is not possible.

  • @sebwan you know what i'm actually american and i agree with you. half the people get sued over here for is complete bullshit. your lucky you live in Germany, i wish i did

  • i think the world needs a catastrophic disaster in which 99.9% of the population dies..... i would be willing to be one of the casualties if it stops this.

  • @jloveshow thats a bit extreme for fuck sake... are you serious?

  • this obviously was a ridiculous lawsuit, but i can't help but notice that these people have been in america for 15+ years and can't speak a lick of english....sigh... guess that statement about getting a better education was full of hot air.

  • @bushmasterorc they wated a better education for their kids not them....listen and than talk

  • It helps America that Asian children are attending American schools and universities. Why? They help drive up the national grade point average. (I'm not Asian myself, but I have seen this happen first hand)

  • lol my name is pearson i hope the stupidity doesn't run in the family

  • pearson should be sued for being retarded.

  • and people ask why all the other countries hate U.S.A ... this is why.

  • oh ok pants get damaged or something that cost like 20 or 40 dollars, so you sue for 54 million, why not kill someone, its REDICULOUS the guy who did this is a jerk, just a greedy backstabbing bastard

  • TNB alert!

  • Once a frivolous lawsuit filer finds an expert-at-extortion attorney whose coat he/she can hide behind, there's no stopping the plaintiff from licking his/her chops in the hopes of getting a whole bunch of something for a whole bunch of nothing.

Petty claims/lawsuits are more widespread than most people realize. Get in a minor car wreck with a sue happy scum bag and find out (these people are everywhere). America's glut of money-grubbing attorneys in this country fuels most of this crap.

  • First of all Judge Pearson sued a small business owner over pants for $65 Million. The Problem is Judge Pearson never earned his money the honest way like the Jackson Family did. second of all The late Michael Jacksons Concert suit is worth $65 Million and Janet Jacksons "Malfunction clothes" is $65 Million. Pearsons pants however is only worth $10 and he got it in a cheap store. Or did Judge Pearson really steal the Late Michael Jackson's Pants?

  • Yes, but usually the targets of frivolous lawsuits are deep pocketed corporations , not small buinesses like dry cleaners.

  • wow!

  • this is so ridiculous.. wow..

  • dang I feel bad. dry cleaning business is really labor intensive job. and for them to go through all that is sad. yes, i bet some owners are not all nice but working 70 hours do that to you.

  • man thts sad ... seriously just because of a pair of pants stupid pants and normal ppl must suffer becuz of this... this is why we need lawyers 2 represnt the innocent...

  • Congratulation to California lawyers and Judges. They can get fat eating hardworking people's money. But there is no future for your business. Businesses will move or stop doing business in CA. I worked hard for over six years and a stupid Stanford dumb graduate! sued me just because was jealous of me. I lost everything, guess what? I won't quit. I won't let him get money out of me. His vampire mother should see them all go down.

  • @shcs02 The couple is in Washington D.C.

  • Why are these cases taken to extremes?! Sex offenders and violent cases are taking so lightly but cases that are so stupid, are taken more seriously?!

  • no judge took the Pearson v. Chungs case seriously.

  • sigh, this depresses me so much...

such cases can only catch me breathless

practically breaks my heart to see a couples' hard work to break down from just one "man"

  • @AZN7 what happened to this family did they win or lose? I feel sorry for this family but the judge he should be fined $100000 and sent to federal prison for 5 years.

  • @Steve0686 in short: lost his job, lost the case, and went for an appeal, lost the appeal, went for ANOTHER appeal though the supreme court, reject through the supreme court, sued AGAIN against the District of Columbia for 1 million dollars and for his job back, but still lost it all in the end. That freaking idiot, hope he's sitting on a street corner or at least flipping burgers....

  • @AZN7 wtf so he sued like 3 times? what an asshole.

  • yeah, I'm korean too.........WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH U?!

    how is this funny?

Pain and suffering over stupid pair of pants is funny to you?

  • It's funny...until it happens to you.

  • the lawyers won, which is important.

    cheers!

  • Either way, a good family lost their business.

  • Welcome to America!

  • You'll never know how stressful it is until it happens to you. There are a lot of con artists who make a living on fictious lawsuits looking for either easy money or a way to ruin someone whose work real hard to build something.

Sadly if you lose in big cases, you lose everything. If you win, the other side usually isn't financially solvent to pay your legal bills, not responsible for your pain and suffering, and not responsible for you lost wages. These extortionists should be in jail.

  • That idiot who tried to sue these people is a retard. Moreover, I can't believe that this shit actually made it to court...it should have been thrown out immediately as frivolous.

  • He was a judge who eventually got removed from the bench. How could anyone NOT defend the Chungs?

  • whats funny??..

  • well i saw what really happen in the court and roy person was crazy! lol

  • Absolutely disgusting. I too was a victim of lawsuit abuse. I had all the proper permits to open my small B&B and 2 months before opening, an opportunistic realtor, Maggie Heilmann from Alain Pinel Realtors saw the opportunity to make money so she went to my neighbors telling them to sell their homes quickly since a "hotel" or "whore house" would be opening. There would be and drugs too so she got 5 listings and I paid $70K to fight the city trying to close me down being totally legal!!!!

  • REALLY? wow! thats teribble!

  • there's no dream in america.

  • did u clik on my thing?

  • There really isnt.

  • In a lawsuit, the loser of the case should be forced to pay the legal expenses of the winner. The legal expenses would have to be regulated in order to be reasonable for everyone involved. This policy would deter anyone from filing a frivolous lawsuit because they would have to make sure they had a good case, or else they might end up paying a hefty bill. This policy would also deter filthy and greedy trial lawyers from inflating their legal bills to accommodate their lavish tastes.

  • I am a sixteen year old. I am an American citizen. I have lived here all my life. Never, in all those years, could I have imagined that America would be so heartless, so crude, and so disgusting in their handling of cases such as these. These two individuals are the epitome of the American Dream and a modern government that does NOT work for the people. What happened to this fucking country. Don't dare call me unpatriotic. I'm critical because I care.

  • Frivolous lawsuits make me sick and make us all poor. The only ones who benefit are lawyers.

  • I hope you're happy, you dumb liberal. Thanks to your hero Roy Pearson, another small business had to shut down!

  • Propagana from the right???? This was national news for goodness sake. Are you honestly okay with this? Is it okay for someone to ruin other people's lives over a pair of pants? You better not ever spill any food or drink on someone else's clothes because they might sue you for your house.

  • More propaganda? Whether or not the C.of C. is behinfd this, the Chungs are real people and, suffered for real from a dork that wanted insane revenge for a pair of lost pants. 2 years in court? Yeah, just propaganda.

  • Lost their business, moved back to Korea.

  • Well at least the judge lost his job over his lawsuit... hmm.
