@GreenGearMood Actually Amano is still doing work with Square for the logo's and painting illustrations for Final Fantasy games. However last year he met with his good friends Nobuo and Sakaguchi where they made an agreement that those three would be involved in a mistwalker game before any of them die. So i'm so excited I hope it's soon that game will kick ass. Sakaguchi also said hopefully having the game models look like Amano's paintings for the first time ever!!!

Apart from the face which is really beautiful, expressive and well done, it looks like nice cutscene graphics, but not really well done enough for an animated movie. The 2d representation using 3d models is a bit awkward, like okami.

@InuyashaGirl7291 The film is directed by Yoshitaka Amano and uses his art style. He designed all the characters in FF 1-6&9 which were then adapted by the developers of the games.

@necromancer1983x and 8. Nomura just finalized them. And in X as well. Nomura did all the character designs for Dissida to make them like Amano's designs. Lightning also has her visual appearance that was done by Amano as well.

@DarkSamuraiX1989 No, Amano did the original through VI. Nomura did VII and up, except for IX, which was done by someone completely different (I think it was Toshiyuki Itahana). Nomura, actually, also did the basic designs for a couple of earlier characters, like Shadow and Gilgamesh. Of course, Amano does his own art for all of the later games too, but he isn't involved in the design. Dissidia does draw from a lot of Amano's art, but that's not to say it's their original designs.

@Greiga part of that its correct, but, you may consider amano-sama its not just FF, he is an active artist since 75', being one of the fathers of anime, shonen, and japanese novel illustration.... so think what all say before considering that factors, waiting anxious for this to relase ^^.
