I find it a little off that Hitler's getting pissed when he first found out about it (still epic, though). Thing is, between announcing the license and the time they actually aired the first episode, 4kids actually showed potential of changing their ways: they showed a dub of We Are! at a convention, and they were releasing uncut Yu-gi-oh! and Shaman King DVDs. Sadly, none of that worked out in the end, and somehow, they went on to make the One Piece dub far worse than even their previous dubs.

@dataman121 I meant with the violent scenes, for some reason they just cut random stuff, at least what I saw. XD And they didn't yell the attack names in the German version. -.- Makes especially Zorro's attacks much less epic.

After I watched almost all episodes in japanese with english subtitles the german version makes me cringe everytime I see it, but it's still much better than the gag reflex I have to fight when I hear the 4Kids dub.

@Operngeist1 i know what you mean. the reason for the cuttings in the german version was that it was dubbed by rtl 2 pokito thats something like 4 kids just not that much censored. In the pokito version you still could follow the story very good just annoying that some parts of the fighting scenes were cut because of the violent action going on. however Pokito just like 4 kids has stopped to dub it.

But I have to agree the Pokito version was still ok,

R and L are flipped a lot in Japanese...Zolo and Zoro are both fine. Like Alucard or Arucard. (However, in that specific case, it was supposed to be Alucard, Dracula backwards)
