The only possible way I can get a city (and trust me) is to have 4 armies (2 archers and two legioners). That how I took down Montezuma and Alexander the Great. A really good strategy if I do say so myself.

P.s. be sure to heal your men and have the steel making thing (forgot the name).

You have to have 3 of the same exact unit in the same spot and then it will give you the option to make an army.

In the demo, I was egypt, I managed to get all the way to the Steam engine and I was just working on gunpowder when it ended. I had a cruiser and everything, and I took out athens with just two squads of "Ninja" Knights. With a spy, of course, destroying their defenses.

you should have gotten some catuplts when your were facing the egyptians. for some reason the egyptians are always the hardest to get rid of if you dont it real early in the game.

Out of the 5 games I have played of the demo only one time was I able to progress far enough in the tech tree to build catapults. I think the game is actually easier playing as the Egyptians. They seem to tech up faster, and if you are the first person to reach a new tech then you automatically get free buildings in your main city.
