This film is amazing... a master piece. Forbidden love is always more passionate.. its not an easy one, it's the purest to me, the realest. When you cant have it.. love becomes more intense... something you need to live, like the air... just like they say n the movie "I was death, now I'm alive... I need him"
is so easy be honored and celebrated for movie like this one. this movie had to be successful because of so much forbidden theme. I don't think there was much talent needed from screenplay writer. it's same like Brokeback Mountain. that movie has almost same user rating like this one. I don't think is a masterpiece, just something what will shock many people and also someone can see him self in this movie. this theme will provide this movie always with higher user rating
this movie was nothing like broke back mountain. it's much much better... it was much more intense and harder to watch.. and much better in my opinion.. if you noticed, there is very little talking in this movie .. and when there it text- every word hits hard.. the intensity is just as much in the cinematography as in the text, and also in the facial / bodily expressions of the actors- the actors here are absolutely amazing.. and i dont think a lot of actors are good ..so yuh.. :)

The emotional and sexual feelings between the main two characters is just... I mean, I truly felt it, it went out of them into me and that rarely happens in any other film, I never believed any relationships out of any film either with straight or LGBT tones, but those two, are just... beyond beautiful.. Just the first moment they kissed, I watched and kept silent, I keep watching it and it still takes my breath away, that moment on the roof... I mean, how did they make it so... alive

I like the way the director creates scenes with minimalist dialogue, and spare gesture which draws us into the relationships, creates interior space for us to become absorbed, and gives the actors grounds for wonderful performances. I'll look for the Haim Tabakman interview.

They're using some traditional Chassidic music. Different strokes, I guess. It didn't diminish anything for me, nor did it wildly draw me to the movie. It's just a part of the world being depicted so it makes sense to me (kinda like the country music used in Brokeback Mountain).
I just got back from seeing it and yes, it was a very good film. I couldn't stop translating it the entire time I was watching. ;) I hope it becomes available online soon!

Yes, it's very good. And yes, controversial. It's not the kinda movie that will leave you utterly happy (it takes place in an ultra orthodox neighbourhood, after all), but it is very well made, acted, written. Heartbreaking and thoughtful and provoking.
*sighs* What can I say, apparently sex is too much for them to handle. *eyeroll*

I have to agree. The entire movie, me and my friends were admiring Ran Danker's lips. Shallow, but it was fun. ;)
I hope you can buy it on DVD with subs even, it is SUCH a good movie. I wanna go see it again.

I hope they change the music used in this trailer...totally diminishes the appeal of this movie.

They're using some traditional Chassidic music. Different strokes, I guess. It didn't diminish anything for me, nor did it wildly draw me to the movie. It's just a part of the world being depicted so it makes sense to me (kinda like the country music used in Brokeback Mountain).

Thanks for posting the translated clip. I first saw the trailer on gayclic and I was like "finally, another Israeli gay-themed movie". The more the merrier. :P Israeli guys just make me go weak on my knees. Hehhee.

Doesn't it? I'm DYING to go see it. *sighs* The young guy, Ran Danker, is one of the hottest heartthrobes in Israel, which means it's very cool to see him in this kinda movie. And the older guy, Zohar Strauss, well, he is VERY nice to look at when dressed in a secular attire. You can't even tell from this clip. ;)

Don't be, I'm dying to see it again and I can't! It's better to wait and have it at home so you can rewatch as many times as you'd like and without giggling teenagers during sex scenes. ;)
Yes, it's very good. And yes, controversial. It's not the kinda movie that will leave you utterly happy (it takes place in an ultra orthodox neighbourhood, after all), but it is very well made, acted, written. Heartbreaking and thoughtful and provoking.

I don't know if I should give too much away, but I can say this - I'm really glad I went to see it. And I still wanna see it again! *hugs* Patience, it'll get there. If it takes longer, that just means it's doing well in Israel, which isn't a bad thing. Yes? ;)
