Regarding restrictiveness, there are two versions of the Ornish diet, one for preventing heart disease and one for reversing heart disease. The reversal diet is more restrictive based on research and the logic that the arteries of those already sick with heart disease need a bigger break from fat.
Excuse me!?! The Ornish diet is NOT calorie restrictive! You'll actualy get more fat than you need from the amount of dairy he allows. We need NUTRIENTS, not excessive fat and calories to be healthy. This video is so biased.
You can get TONS of Iron from spinach. Omega-3 is (now) fortified in many low-fat dairy products. Obviously, this lady doesn't know what she's talking about!
Ornish's diet is ridiculous and the people who follow are even more ridiculous.
