Can anyone please help me, when I select or click on certain clip from the one I imported, the select tool keep selecting the whole clip. I just want a certain clip not the whole clip, I know I can just drag both ends of the select tool but that takes forever and it really makes editing complicated. Please help me
FCPX is perfect for dad to edit family video. More limited than NLE but very useful for basic edits. With good content you could create impressive home movies.
Only thing i don't like is this snapping thing. i don't want it to snap i would like to place it in and out where i want without it snapping to a already shown clip. is their a way around it?
@rosstokach My favorite part about how they rolled out the new software is that they let you keep Final Cut Pro 7 on your computer without causing any interruptions with the new version. So all your old files can still be opened in FCP7 while you take the time to learn the new program. I absolutely love the new version of FCP and hope the tutorials help you continue learning your craft!
Hi, great tutorials!! I'm shooting a doco at the moment on a 60D. As I understand it you need to convert the files from the camera into Apple Pro Res 422 and then import into FCPX?? Or can you just bring them in straight from the camera? Thanks, Steve.
@steveholmes77 Hi Steve! Nope. You can import straight in from any of the Canon cameras. If you prefer to edit in ProRes422, Final Cut Pro X will do that conversion for you, you just have to click the "Optimize Footage" checkbox when you are importing. Hope that helps!
Thanks for a great tutorial with real useful tips and tricks. I was wary about downloading FCPX after all the negative reactions all over the net, but your tutorial tells a different story: FCPX is indeed a powerful tool and even fun to use, like to said. You made me happy about my purchase of FCPX. Thanks.
OMG thank you SO much, ive been online for like two days tryin to find out how to fade audio. everyone who has a video of express (which is more abundant since pro x is so new) says it's the same but it's totally not lol. again, thanks, really appreciate the help.
@SCOTTW25 Thanks Scott! I'm glad it helped. All the negative press around FCP X got my panties in a bunch, so instead of just thinking those people are silly, I figured I could help show people how to use it.
Thank you so much for this Video... You are a life saver...
