@lilsed3 I also played a spiral once where I got trapped for like 30 seconds I actually took my finger off block and it was still blocking lol. now that was flawless lol. to bad I never got to add the person to my friends because I'd probly do him now lol. But I think things like that is what makes mvc2 so advance you get your practice worth.

Yeah like cable is sooo likely to be jump backwards the whole time not calling any assist and just take the chip. I'm not saying spiral isn't top tier but I never see duc playing "traps" so blindly in set patterns anymore, it just isn't effective.
To the people saying "Oh, this isn't an effective trap, etc": the point isn't to lock down the enemy and chip them to death, it's to build up meter so you can bring in your main. That works even if the trap gets broken.
The real problem is that there are characters who can build meter who are top/near top tier anyway.
Yeah, it's hardly infallible, but I can imagine that it'd still do an effective job of trapping people at least for a short while. And god forbid if they get actually hit by em, then they can be combo'd till death. Also, I seriously doubt most casual players will be ready for this. lol
Once you master all of spiral´s lockdowns, you realize that humans can pushblock and advance guard cancel their way out of any lockdown, doesn´t matter how perfect you can pull them.
Take duc as THE example, he can pull both Spiral+Sentinel lockdowns... however, using spiral takes quite more skill than just "trapping".
Spiral is really really hard to master and use in a pro-level enviroment.

Capcom eats spiral on that aerial dancing sword one and sent assist eats it up. kids dont this at hoem or anywhere, beacuse a person who still plays this game nowadays will laugh at u trying to use traps. they're the lost art. the only traps that have value if any are the strider D.D one and the ruby heart blackheart one.

I don't think he did the Sent/Spiral or BH/Spiral traps as well as Duc or Vidness. They actually lock them down not allowing them to move.

Someone should teach those characters to super jump, and if they aren't to tired after that, to push block.
Also, someone should let that cable player know that he has an air hyper viper beam and jumping deliberatley into swords is a bad thing.
