Are you sure its gorilla glass on front screen cuz i hear many people complain fron scratching thir screens and from what i know about gorilla glass its very hard to scratch based on my knowlage with my galaxy p1000 thanks
@noknok221178 Yes, the 7.7 has Gorilla glass on it. Even though Samsung doesn't overtly state that it has it, Samsung does partly own Corning glass anyway, so the glass is still the same scratch resistant awesomeness that we've come to love.
I would need AT&T or T-Mobile to use the unlocked capabilities since it requires a SIM? Without a SIM (i use sprint) would this just be a regular wifi 7.7? Please respond, oh and I love this video. Liked and favorited!
@vwlolfordlol Right now there are two versions of the 7.7: the P6800 and the P6810. The P6800 is the one I am showing in this video, and is the international 3G version of the 7.7, and therefore has a SIM slot. The P6810 is the WiFi-only version of the 7.7, does not have a SIM slot, and is about ~$100 cheaper on average.
Great review! Are you in US? I am seriously considering to buy this. If I want to use its phone function (call and receive), what plan should I have in AT&T? Can I simply insert a SIM card, and that's it?
@hwbaac Yes, I'm in the US. Both AT&T and T-Mobile work as far as using the device as a phone, and all you need to do is pop your SIM card in. However, with T-Mobile, since the P6800 does not support 1700MHZ AWS, you won't get 3G/4G speeds for your data; you'll be stuck on EDGE instead. If you really want to fully take advantage of this device's capabilities, you really need to be on AT&T.
@cedvaz1984 The main differences between the 6200 and the 6800 are screen (1024x600 PLS LCD vs 1280x800 SAMOLED+), battery (4000mAh vs 5100mAh), CPU (1.2 vs 1.4 ghz, both dual core), and RAM (both have 1gb, but the LPDDR2 in the 7.7 consumes less power).
The battery life on my 7.7 is ridiculous! I can easily go a couple days of moderate use without charging, as long as I take some basic power saving steps, like adjusting screen brightness etc.
@chino8646 As of now, until someone makes an AOSP ROM for us (like CM9), there's no way to completely remove TouchWiz. It is highly embedded throughout the entire operating system, so currently our only option is to replace the home launcher with something else of your own choosing. I prefer ADW EX because it is quick, simple, and smooth. It's important to remember that TouchWiz isn't all bad, but it is a matter of personal preference. For me, I just think the TwLauncher is too resource heavy.
I am planning on buying a tablet, and I was originally going to hold off for the IPad 3, but It looks like you can do a lot more with Android (soon to be 4.0). However, I have a few questions to help with my purchase. I have already invested a bit in Itunes with my old Ipod touch (which broke), so would it still make sense to move to android? Are there as many good apps and games? Is it worth the screen downsize for the AMOLED+? Its either this, Transormer prime, or ipad 3. What do you suggest?
@CPmillenia94 When it comes to iTunes, my easiest solution would be to use Google Music. If you've never used it before, it's absolutely amazing! Basically, on your PC (or Mac (or Linux box)), you download the Music Manager, point it to wherever you music is kept, like your iTunes directory, and it just goes ahead an uploads all your music to the cloud (up to 20,000 songs). On the Android side of things, you download the Google Music app, sign in, and that's it! No wires involved it's all there!
@CPmillenia94 As far as the Android market vs the Apple App Store goes, admittedly, the Android marketplace is a little behind the App Store, but only a little bit, and it's only gaining more momentum each day! The Android marketplace has tons of great games and apps, and as Android's popularity is growing, more developers are making apps for Android first before making Apple versions. This trend will only get stronger as Android continues to grow.
@CPmillenia94 When it comes to screen quality, at this stage, I have simply never seen a better screen than the one in the 7.7, period. The iPad 3 supposedly will best the 7.7 in terms of resolution, if the rumours are true, and the TF Prime's screen is not a bad looker by any stretch. However, when it comes to overall colour reproduction, brightness, and contrast, there's just nothing that comes even slightly close to Super AMOLED+ and I'll take that over resolution any day personally.
@JadeEyedWolf Alright Thanks! I really appreciate your help. I have also heard that it will soon be updated to android ics so this tablet is looking like the best out of the three. I am a big fan of amoled though and The resolution does not bother me. Even if this thing had an LCD it would still be a very high quality display. Ive checked out google music stuff and it looks great. And the smaller size of the tablet is good for portability and making it more a music device than the ipad.
@CPmillenia94 Yes the 7.7 should eventually get ICS. As to exactly when that is, who knows? Then again, having used both, honestly it's not really a whole lot of difference from honeycomb.
@jay4life86 Hey thanks for watching! Not sure about a video edition of the 7.7 vs GNote just yet, but if you go to the 7.7's general section of XDA Forums, I've made a pretty decent 7.7 vs GNote write-up there. Check it out and tell me what you think! :)
P.S. I've added a link to that specific post in the description. You're welcome ;)
@JadeEyedWolf Thanks for the link Jade. It was very well written and informative. Its so strange that I too used Galaxy S2 for 5 months before replacing it with Note. So your article totally spoke to me haha.
I definetly agree with your quote of: "At the end of the day, with the s-pen safely nestled away, the Note is just a really big Galaxy S2 to me."
Thanks for your input and look forward to possibly future videos later. Favorited.
@boyishiyah You're welcome! :) Turns out mine has a "Made by Samsung in Vietnam" label on it lol! May have bought it in Singapore at the time, but I guess it's spreading quickly!! Now if only it would hurry up and get to the rest of the world right? ;)
@boyishiyah Heh, yeah, it's no wonder Apple never wanted this thing to come to market; it puts their iPad 2 to shame (and it doubles as a phone)! And I totally hear ya when it comes to quick updates for RTL language support... That must be frustrating!! I feel your pain bro... Would it work well enough in the mean time if you got one now and then just updated to your region specific firmware as soon as it was available? Food for thought ;)

Hey Jade
I too also own a Galaxy Note for the past 2 months. I was wondering if its worth going for this tablet if the specs are similar to note.
Maybe a future video of Galaxy Note vs Tab 7.7? =D First on Youtube probably.
But yeah, i've been mulling over whether i should go for this when i have the note already.
