well i couldnt help to mention that- the metro system of paris, should be the greatest metro of all...you know it is not about the metro only, the connections of the tube trains to normal ones, and the suburb trains, are just perfect. and as far as i know, pariser metro is older than the one in NYC. the stations are not far from each other- every 500-600 meters, and this makes, lots of stations.
You all need to remember that the NY system is over 100 years old, runs 24/7/365 and moves about 1 million people a day. Considering that, it's a great sytem, shortcomings not withstanding.
New york's underground is worse compared to DC. The trains are very rickety, they slow and speed abruptly, the platform is usually not clean and messy, and it's styling cues are not that appealing (large open tunnel vs small boxed tunnel with bars)
Also, some stations have the heater on in summer, very strange
@111whiteBoy111 that's why in New York is more than 50 % not underground so it's more easy to make a station between. In london is much more underground. and Making a tunnel is not that easy
Moscow has the largest subway system in the world & a length of approx, 340km; Tokyo is 2nd.
However, Beijing plans to build worlds largest subway system.
New York is NOT bigger than Japans.
FACT: London, 1999: Over 460 trains during peak hours crisscross each other over an area of 2000 sq km, carrying over 800 million passengers a year. The system has a length of 415km.
The London Underground is the world's oldest & most complex subway network in the world.
i didnt mean London lmfao i knew that London was the biggest but New York Comes in second actually. but new york's isnt as clean as the others..... lmao

@GottaBeFirst London's metro is the biggest in the world, but will soon fall to the second once the new lines on Shanghai's metro are completed.
GaryGarratt 1 year ago
@GaryGarratt London's metro is only 270 stations(11 lines), while New York's has 468 (24 lines). Obviously, New York's Subway lines are longer...
So yeah, do some research before posting

gieltjejnssen 10 months ago
@gieltjejnssen 55% of London "underground" is above ground.
In Moscow, for example, every single station is under ground, and there are 182 of them.
111whiteBoy111 10 months ago
@111whiteBoy111 Yes but geographically London is twice the size of New York therefore it's lines are going to be longer.
