Hey Palin don't you have a meth lab to tend to? or a rape victim to screw over? or some poor animal to hunt from a plane? I got one for why don't you pretend to be
a mother? Can a day pass without this Mooseburger saying something stupid?
According to Bill O'Reilly Sarah Saks can be tutuored. I wonder if he would tutor Barrack Obama if it was him that was stupid.
Gosh he is so proud about the fact that he does not believe in God or religion. Proud
King asks him to be objective about Sarah, wow. That is impossible for him to be objective about any Republican, ever. I cannot stand him. The other Bill, Bill O. is much better, he is right.
Bill Maher is as far left as you can get. He has said that any one who believes in religion is stupid, a moron, etc. I watch most of his shows and he has made a few objective comments about Republicans but for the most part calls them names, makes fun of them, states that all of their ideas are wrong. He made the comment that if Sarah P. was reincarnated he hopes she comes back as a wolf so she could be shot, killed, from a helicopter. That is the same as saying he hates her.
BM does not call for banning religion. But religous people have called for banning BM. He advocates freedom of speech and freedom of faith (including non-faith), just like the constitution. Fundamentalists want to impose their agenda on people like BM, which he opposes. He was a mccain supporter in 2000 (thats being objective). Can you tell which democrat billo has supported? Making fun of people pays him big bucks, just like it does for billo when he barks at his guests when they disagrees.
When he calls people names and makes fun of them he does it showing haltered and by being mean spirited. He has said several times any person who believes in a religion is a moron, and he is not trying to be funny when he says this.
I don't think you understands maher's views in proper context. You are just quoting one sentence when he might have said religious people are morons. I am religious and I too believe some religious people are morons. I understand where maher is coming from and I am not offended by his anti-religion views even though I am religious. I agree with many of his other liberal philosophies which are based on tolerance and acceptance, the exact opposite of right wing philosophies.
He has said that people are morons for claiming that they KNOW that God exists and that their religion is correct and he is absolutely correct. No one knows that their religion is right, that is why it is called a belief. He has said that religion and religious people are illogical which is also true, religion is very illogical. Again, if religion was logical you wouldn't have to "take it on faith", but that is not what religion is about. His statements are logical even if they aren't popular.
To believe in God and their religion does not make these people morons. I would not be a moron if Joe the plumber borrowed $5.00 from me and said he would pay me back Friday. I took him at his word on faith, faith in his promise. What say you.
No I am not saying that. It is moronic to claim that beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a God and that your religion is correct while everyone who doesn't believe what you do is wrong. I am pro-religion, I am a Christian myself, but I am also a realist and if someone asked me could you be wrong, I say yes. The only reason people are as adamant about their religion is because they have believed it their whole life. To be wrong would be like learning that Santa isn't real.
He said palin should come back as a wolf, but not she should be killed from copter. Thats a innuendo that you added. Either way, saying that is much worse than killing wolves which palin does.
We live in a polarized political climate where people only see thru their partisan filters. You think billm is evil, I think billo is equally evil. If you are capable of agreeing to disagree (which libs are more times than rightwingers) then lets leave it at that,
Like I said, saying something is not as bad as the brutal killings that palin carries out. All his comments seem "mean-spirited" to you because you are looking at them through your republican filter. To me and to the many maher fans, they seem hillarious.
I am not asking you to agree with me. I can live with your disagreement. You see we libs are a lot more tolerant.
I know he is right as in right wing. That was my attempt at being funny and I did it with out profanity, name calling or making fun of others. Kind of the right way of doing it.
"I did it with out profanity, name calling or making fun of others"
Again, That is Maher's bread and butter. A lot of people dig the profanity and making fun. Thats why he is on HBO and not network news. Nobody is forcing you to watch HBO.
And if the right way of doing it is being respectful, then it's strange how you like the arrogant narcissistic prick named billo who goes ballistic and cuts peoples mics when they disagree with him
#1 I have not said you use profanity or name call. When ever I have said these things it was always in reference to Bill Maher. He has said any one who believes and follows any religion is a moron. I agree with you that I feel that some religions have flaws. I have never heard of any fundamentalists stating they want to impose their agenda on people like BM.
#2 You may be right regarding my "republican filter", but I try hard to look at both sides objectively. There are things I agree with the left point of view and positions I disagree with coming from the right. I strongly disagree that "libs are a lot more tolerant", it sounds as if you are but not most of the others.
dude I was quoting you and replying to that. You see the quotes (" ") around that statement? Thats a common way people reply on YT. I know you dind't say anything about me using profanity.LOL
Phil DOnahue, president of catholic league wants to ban bill maher, because he got hurt (just like you) by his comments on religion. Other people want bible to be studied in public schools. They want to throw science out of the window and learn creationism. etc. etc. Thats the agenda BM opposes
It isn't called creationism anymore. They call it "Intelligent Design" but either way it doesn't belong in science class. It does belong in a Literature, History, or Philosophy class, take your choice. Just a note though, academic study of the Bible is not Sunday School, it is an evaluation of the beliefs systems, history, and relationship of the religion to the whole of society.
I think his agenda is greater that just not throwing science out of the class room. But on creationism and science, I think with work they can be taught together. I think most people who read the bible do not take every book as word for word. I am not a good student of the bible to give any examples. Well maybe one example could be that seven days are not our seven days.
So now you think BM has an agenda. BM is too insignificant a creature to have an "agenda". The best he can do right now is bitch on tv and piss off people like you. It will be another 100 years before non-believers have the same clout as believers. And may be thats why the contractors of organized religion are afraid of people like Maher. In the end its all aout loosing power and clout. Religion should be personal. Creationism is a Christion concept that should not be enforced on others.
Creationism and science can not be taught together. No matter how much people want it to be creationism is not a scientific theory. You can't look at hard evidence for creationism and it can't be tested using the scientific method and therefore can't be taught as a science. At best it can be taught as a philosophy, but at least as a literature, but never, never a science.
That's because Creationism is Bullshit, and Science is science. Any progressive religion would understand that and keep religion in the philosophy class. Even though scientific people can accept the idea that there was an intelligence responsible for it all...if they're progressive...they'd know that their God may have created it... but science actually explains it.
I agree that science and a belief in God isn't mutually exclusive. For one thing, science just accepts theories as the best explanation for natural events. That is why they are called theories not laws, but one of the Laws of science is that you can't create living matter from non-living matter. Part of the Big Bang theory is that the primordial soup was devoid of life, so the current existence of life breaks scientific law. Even the Big Bang Theory leaves room for God.
