It has been 7 months, now, since she was found burned, and she has recovered wonderfully and was Adopted just a week or so ago to a very nice family. The husband is a firefighter and the wife is a nurse. Sounds like she is in good hands now...

Yes, it must have been terrible for her, and for us, when we found out the extent of her burns, but she is coming along with a wonderful, playful spirit and is getting better every day, and now she plays and runs in the backyard of her foster mom and sleeps on the sofa, supervised, of course. Still has to wear a covering for sometime, because her skin is very thin and her burns are still not entirely healed. Thanks for your comment.

Cookie's veterinarian decided to look into specialized burn treatments and discovered that South Paws in Virginia offers Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to accelerate healing in burn victims. So she took Cookie to her first treatment on January 4. Treatment will be daily until Cookie shows substantial gains in her condition. She still wags her tail and is a very friendly, sweet dog to both humans and other dogs.

I really hope they find out who did this, if ya do, let me know, I have the ideal punishment ready to go. This looks too much like my pooch Daisy. How in the hell could someone do this?

Cookie is doing well, but it will be weeks before her skin grows back. she still needs treatments every day for the burns, and is still under the doctor's care, but she eats well and is happy. Thanks for asking about her.
