I tried to get a world weary feel to it. I think it is a challenge to get happy words sounding sad. If you succeed then it brings an element of pathos to the song.
The discrepancy between the words being said and the mood of the person saying the words is what brings about tension.
Conflict between the spoken word and the inner reality is at the heart of how we percieve others.
Wonderful wonderful.
I love the second version- you have definitely succeeded at saddening it down a fair bit.

I've done it the 'bouncy' way before, but you've inspired me to try and 'slow it down' a bit....we'll see...

So what you are saying that if you can sing a song in many different styles then you can own a Uke for every version?
