He cant quit! Izzie is sick and she needs his help. I sure hope Izzie tells someone she's sick,it's not like it's going to get any easier keeping it a secret her neurological episodes will become more frequent and more often. So Derek can't quit.

Derek'll get sued and quits Seattle Grace, Owen'll intentionally hurts Cristina as he's coping with PTSD, Izzie'll reveal her illness to most likely Cristina, and Meredith will try to convience Derek not to quit.

don't worry, der isn't quitting the show! on next week's ep. everyone at SG will try to convince him not to quit and on the following week ep. mer will pull all of her strengths to convince him to come back to SG. it's just a phase that he goes through as a surgeon after the horrible devastating case. it happens, he just needs a break from the OR and the brain. :)

Guys! Obviously if he quits Seattle Grace, that doesn't mean he's no longer on the show. Ya know..just some emotional stuff to deal with, and he can't be operating during his little break down. He'll be back...the producers and writers aren't stupid. If Patrick Dempsey actually left the show, they'd loose a lot of fans!

i doubt he'll quit forever. he's signed on for all the seasons. i'm guessing that just as he's saying he quits, they discover what's wrong with izzie and derek's the only one who can save her. so thus, he technically quits, but comes right back.

i don't think der will actually quit. it's the phase that he's going through after one tough, devastating case. i think he'll come around and realize that after all that happened, he's still a good doc.

it sucks that we need to wait for 2 weeks now to find out.
