Mike Kelly will be interviewed this Sun. Jan 3rd,2010 4-8 PM on Ken Held's Doo Wop Shop 1040 AM WLVJ originating from Florida and streaming by following the prompts.
Well that all depends on taste, I think they were all good for the type of songs we associate with them, Mike's is my favorite because his voice has more in it than shall we say old Joni James tunes, or Jo Stafford tunes, there is more there than just smoothness it is slick but emotional and yet at times has a slight street doo wop quality that gives it depth.
Everyone on youtube has an opinion on who was the best Duprees lead singer. Well, not one of the previous lead singers includind Joey Vann, could sing the end of this song better than the amazing vocal ability of Mike Kelly!!!
This was recorded on Columbia Records. I have video footage taken by the lead singer Mike Kelly when the Duprees recorded the song at Columbia studios in New York City. This song was recorded in the mid 1960's, before the time of synthesizers. The video footage shows numerous orchestra musicians which were used to record this masterpiece.
If you have this video, I hope that you will post it on You Tube. Mike's many fans would be thrilled, and you can place me right at the top of that list!!!!
Mike Kelly should really have been a solo artist!!! I Love his voice!!!

He really has the strongest, the clearest, the most refined singing voice of all the Dupree leads..
