This game gave me PTSD. This game gave me a type of PTSD called Battered Wife Syndrome. No matter how much it abused me I still came back for more because I loved it so much despite the abuse. Congratulations From Software you are the first developer to have a game that game somebody PTSD.

(demon souls and dark souls) will be remebered as one of the games that you felt like there was no door barred in that world and were free to play as you wished wether you be patient or not!!
This game rules... and it's not some simple RPG where you can smash everything in your path. You have to be careful as hell and you need much patience to get through this... I've always looked for a game like this ;D ... where strategy and tactics are needed and where the bossfights rule as hell! Demon's Souls, the world is in danger, and you're going to be the one out of the thousands to save the world. I don't play Demon's Souls for it's story, I play it because it's hard!

Demon's Souls is one of the most rewarding game experiences I've ever had. As someone of the newer generation of gamers, I appreciate the oldschool sensibilities that went into the creation of this game.

Fuck you. I have a PS3 and a Xbox 360. I've beaten Demon's Souls many times. The only reason Demon's Souls was exclusive to PS3 is because it was originally released in Japan/Asia where the the Xbox isn't popular. And because at the time, no one knew the game was gonna be a huge success.
It's safe to say that Demon's Souls deserves best game of this generation over every other title. Even an epic like Mass Effect 2 and others.
If you haven't played Demon's Souls thoroughly for a long period of time then you probably don't understand how epic the game is and how much you get for you money.
So amazing! I can't wait for Dark Soul.
I'd prefer it to remain on the best tech to get the most out of it(PS3 exclusive) but I'm sure that the Xbox360 can't hold it back. Rejoice 360 fans!!!
Neither is this game. Once you understand how it works and how you should play the game, it's not all that difficult. You just can't run around shooting and slashing everything in sight..this game will punish you for that.

i think "unforgiving" is a better word than "hard" for this game. It takes patience and planning really. if you die its always your fault, not the game's fault. But this song definitely does a great job saying that this game will destroy you.

I agree that Demon's souls is way better than Fallout but I wouldnt go as far as to say its the and only RPG, Final Fantasy, Oblivion, Mass Effect, Chrono Trigger, etc, etc. But I will say that Demon's souls is my favorite RPG ever or at least really close :P
i finished this game in under 30 hours its easy as hell idk why people say its hard when then only hard part is finding the inspiration to play it after you died like 3 times in a row and i did that like once
@BKX4life continue playing BKX4life you will find NG+ (or NG++ ect) harder, even then though i was one of the people like you that only died a few times mostly for me it was black phantoms cuase it seems to like putting me against people 30-100+ sl's ahead of me T.T only place i found "hard" was the 3-2 boss battle Maneater and everyone that's played this knows why...

This song is not only freaky...but it reminds me how hard this damn game is. Don't get me wrong. It's an awesome game. But it will chew you clean and leave whats left of you for the vultures. And this song ALONE proves that.
This game is very hard, and it is a HUGE throwback to the insanely difficult retro games in the past.
However, no matter how many times you will point out its difficulty, this game is nowhere NEAR as hard as F-Zero GX mainly because Demon's Souls throws you a few bones for dying while F-Zero just flat-out says, "You died, you lose, try again."
Ok, but in FZero you only lose 2 minutes progress tops for dying. And in FZero you don't need to formulate macro-strategies, it's all just twitch reflexes, whereas in this game you have to have both good upgrade paths and good combat reflexes.
@xXROFLxXxCOPTERXx Yeah, so I hear. I've been keeping myself updated on it and damn straight, it looks a lot harder. The "insanity" concept from Amnesia: The Dark Descent is going to be in Dark Souls and that was a feature that made Amnesia a lot harder and more nerve-reckoning. Incorperating it in Dark Souls is sure to make Dark Souls a game to remember for years to come.

I'm going to jump onto a conclusion about the game's difficulties.
Demon's Souls and Dark Souls cannot be compared that easily, these games were made to give the player some immense challenge.
The're almost the same; minor all that grass to heal yourself with.
The difficulty to me is based on how new you are to either one of these games.
The dungeons are made to be unexpected of the events that is to come (unless you're a coward and read a guide) beforehand..
But just my assumption.

i think "unforgiving" is a better word than "hard" for this game. It takes patience and planning really. if you die its always your fault, not the game's fault. But this song definitely does a great job saying that this game will destroy you.

I agree that Demon's souls is way better than Fallout but I wouldnt go as far as to say its the and only RPG, Final Fantasy, Oblivion, Mass Effect, Chrono Trigger, etc, etc. But I will say that Demon's souls is my favorite RPG ever or at least really close :P

i finished this game in under 30 hours its easy as hell idk why people say its hard when then only hard part is finding the inspiration to play it after you died like 3 times in a row and i did that like once

@BKX4life continue playing BKX4life you will find NG+ (or NG++ ect) harder, even then though i was one of the people like you that only died a few times mostly for me it was black phantoms cuase it seems to like putting me against people 30-100+ sl's ahead of me T.T only place i found "hard" was the 3-2 boss battle Maneater and everyone that's played this knows why...

This song is not only freaky...but it reminds me how hard this damn game is. Don't get me wrong. It's an awesome game. But it will chew you clean and leave whats left of you for the vultures. And this song ALONE proves that.

This game is very hard, and it is a HUGE throwback to the insanely difficult retro games in the past.
However, no matter how many times you will point out its difficulty, this game is nowhere NEAR as hard as F-Zero GX mainly because Demon's Souls throws you a few bones for dying while F-Zero just flat-out says, "You died, you lose, try again."

Oh damn I remember that. Those damn levels with the boulders, and the bus that couldn't slow down. I gave up eventually.
I think that's one of the hardest games ever scaling for the average age of the player.

Ok, but in FZero you only lose 2 minutes progress tops for dying. And in FZero you don't need to formulate macro-strategies, it's all just twitch reflexes, whereas in this game you have to have both good upgrade paths and good combat reflexes.

@xXROFLxXxCOPTERXx Yeah, so I hear. I've been keeping myself updated on it and damn straight, it looks a lot harder. The "insanity" concept from Amnesia: The Dark Descent is going to be in Dark Souls and that was a feature that made Amnesia a lot harder and more nerve-reckoning. Incorperating it in Dark Souls is sure to make Dark Souls a game to remember for years to come.
