  • Fantastic

  • I stumbled upon this by looking up a version of "The Veldt" made c. 1980. This version was much better. Good movie

  • one of the greatest movies ever

  • Good movie.

  • listen to the planet of the apes soundtrack , here the same composer ?

  • Great film. Glad I finally got a chance to see it. Very 1960's trippy:)

  • Think I will have to read the book, the film totally lost me.

  • I think 1 more story & a lot less camp scenes would have been better. Thx 4 posting.

  • I wish they showed the story of "Zero Hour" and "Fox and the Forest". One of my favorite stories from this book & I love how they did "The Last Night of the World"

  • Steiger = fucking intense!

  • my wife walked in the room and asked " are you watching Planet of the Apes AGAIN!?!" Jerry probably just gave warner bros. the unused score and went fishing....

  • I would've ended the movie where Will takes off and meets the woman and the same thing happens to him

  • Wow, this is an absolutely wonder film. I'm most definitely going to read the book asap.

  • He sure walks around pretty well after having been bashed with a big rock o_o

  • I always desired to see this film and finally you made my dream come true, thank you very much!

  • 'The Last Night of the World' is better in the movie then it is in the book. In the book, it ends by the adults getting to bed and the wife said the fosit is still dripping.

    This version is better.

  • thanks for the uplaod , a brilliant film , question ,is that rod steiger , the guy in the time machine , surely not!!!!!

  • Hayleysvomit: no, he is not. That was Rod Taylor, not rod steiger. He is a british/australian actor. Very handsome by the way. He can be seen in Hitchcock's "The birds" with Tippy Heddren and Jessica Tandy.

  • brutal! but i do so love rod steiger

  • Spooky stuff.

As the end narration suggests, I guess we're faced with no absolute answer whether Carl murders him or not.

I got this film on dvd transferred from VHS some years ago. I've always liked it, but critics have been unkind to it - including Bradbury himself. I thought the sequences of the camp scenes were best and most spine tingling; moreso than the stories of which the 'long rain' is my favorite.

Steiger is well cast. He made Carl a very frightening character.

  • @MisterEvasion He made Carl a weirdo. Carl seemed soo much nicer in the books.

  • thank you so much for the uploads! can't believe rod steiger and claire bloom were married for about ten years.

  • masTerPiece! I'm from argenTina, the first time I watched this I was 7 years old. Now I'm 28 and I just can't describe my feelings after seeing this one more time... thnk u so much!!!

  • fascinating! thankyou for the post, an amazing film with a lot of atmosphere and plenty to get the old brainbox working

  • great film. Thanks for posting!

  • Hadn't seen the film since I was a child - and read the book. Thanks for the upload - I enjoyed watching very much.

  • This movie deviated from the book so much, but what Hollywood film doesn't? It was still pretty spooky and thanks for the upload!

  • That was brilliant. Thanks for showing it.I can't get the film anywhere..its only in region1 version from the USA

  • Willie saw his own death at the hands of the Illustrated Man and nothing could alter that ultimate Fate. Like a Grim Reaper situation.

  • intersting film thanks for the opportunity to watch it

  • each person who tries to see beyond his own time, must face questions that there cannot be absolute answers.
