@candyberriche There are many schools, many belief systems, and many different Gods, Goddesses, and other beings to choose from. I'd suggest you start with some of the 'Intro to Paganism' and 'Intro to Wicca' videos here, as well as some basic books (silly as it may sound, The Idiot's Guide series has some good books on the basics), and then work your way from there.

"Pagan" like the word "Christian" is a very large umbrella term that encompasses many different faiths. Under Christian you'd have Episcopalian, Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist, Lutheran, etc. Whereas under Pagan you would have Odinism, Shinto, Tao, Hinduism, Hellenism, Native American, etc. Pagan has been used as pejorative for centuries, so a new label should be used.

Just because some christains are not following the word doesn't mean we are all the same......I respect all people of there faith and you guys are only looking at one side of the christian teachings yes it says love thy naghbor and so on (forgive my spelling plz) but there are more verses I think that can help clear up why certain christain act the way they do towards wiccan believers. Like I said. I respect people for who they are as people not faith. Just a thought. I try not to generalize

I'm a Wiccan, I have been for many years. Personally I see my religion as a religion of love and respect for everything around us. I don't believe in Satan or hurting anyone. No matter what any religion says, the creator wants us to unite and respect one another, not cause petty arguments because one person believes they are right over another. Religion is a personal journey, and your path is your own. Respect others and you will in turn be respected. Blessed be.

I refer to 1 Corinthians 13, because it describes well, despite who is right or wrong, the proper approach to witnessing beliefs, in love and in truth. The chapter will not fit in this comment box. Any Christian that has not charity, has moved the discussion from the spirit to the flesh.

You can think that Pagans and Wiccans are "dark" all you want, that belief isn't what's being criticized here. As long as you still treat them fairly as fellow human beings. My problem with ShockAweNow is that he doesn't treat them fairly which goes directly against Jesus teachings.

I have watched a lot of Mr. Shockawenow's vids and find them highly disgusting. I have refrained from sending any letters to him because i could not find the words of disgust to say. If you define 'paganism' as anything non-Christian, sure. But even modern-day Celtic Reconstructionists aren't willing to admit that they're following a religion which is thousands of years old - all they're willing to admit is that their religious beliefs are based on their own interpretations of older writings. You don't need to go 'oh, we're older, therefor we're better'. Wicca's a "new" religion and there is nothing wrong with that, it's still a valid religion.
