Not very good for flipping up and doing grinding, if you use magnifying lenses for welding, flip up for grinding and you have to take helmet off to put glasses on so you ca see what your are grinding
I've always used a flip down. I never thought I would say it, but i'm getting sick of welding, then trying to find something not too dark and not too light for cutting, then trying to find my glasses to rip a grinder, then welding again. So i'm trying to do my research. HOWEVER, i want to hear an answer for what raggie817 said! doesn't any decent autodark lid have a grinding mode!? why isnt that good enough? how can I justify spending more bucks because it flips up?
I like my 9400, but it is too heavy and bulky to completely replace my Digital Elite. If you are going all day, the extra weight takes a tole on your neck.
Hands down the best industrial welding helmet in the world today. If you weld everyday, don't put a price on your eyes get these, miller 9400i, or if your tight on cash one step behind it would be the millers digital elite series. I don't care what anyone says about other welding helmets MILLER is the best in all trade industry's. The other top 3 competitors ; Snap On, Speedglas, and Jackson Boss are falling way behind in today's market of 2011-2012 welding helmet innovations.
very nice but if i but the lens up and grind i shoot sparks all over the back side of my auto glass. If I put a 2nd cover lens in it I cant get to the controls.
