Not that this head doesn't help, but unless youre going to use digital effects you cannot bring out sound that isnt already produced by a bass. I have an svt 410-b2re amp, and I can shake my neighborhood with this setup, but I can't get a great mid-high range (such as geddy's) with my american jazz.
long story short, make sure you like your natural bass tone before buying it. then it's worth it.
