Hi I am going to buy a piano and my two options are this one or the p155, which one would you reccomend I just want the one with the most realistic piano sound-
@DustinNesom I have a P-155. The p-155 is the latest portable by yamaha. They have the stereo sampling, the sustain pedal harmonics, and all the other good stuff. It really does sound authentic. the CP-33 is slightly older and has 3 piano samples per key. The P-155 has 4 piano samples per key. On all models they modify the samples that are recorded (in this case 3) and make them sound like they are striking harder or softer. Its fluent but the P-155 has a more authentic sound that I see.
I went down to Sweetwaters in IN with my Roland KC500 and played all their digitals next to each other. I have gigged on the CP33 in clubs and it's good. Test it against the p-155 and you'll hear the difference. Even the on board P.A. on the 155 isn't bad at all for a small room it beats the CP33 for sound and sensitivity for sure and is only another couple hundred bucks.
i am amazed how yamaha managed to sample realistic sounding acoustics. honestly i would go for a Yamaha when it comes to their acoustic presets. im not saying their piano sucks but its just that Roland pianos were better. But of course we all have different taste in music so i cannot push you for a roland. Im sorry for being subjective. lol
Hi, I must add that the accoustic qualities of Yamaha's music styles (samples) are also closer and more authentic (to my ears). But yes, we all are subjective. :))
in my oppinion, i would still go for a Roland, its not that Yahama got a bad piano sound, but i think roland has the better piano. i compared both digipianos and surprised that Roland 700gx is way better than yamaha. one more thing, Roland offers their piano at very reasonable price.
thing is...Roland 700gx is too light compared to a steinway or even bosendorfer. For actual piano playing the Yamaha works better (but not the CP33, the CP300) but for doing other things including jazz, performances, etc. the 700gx might be better.
Should I buy this over Kawai ES6? It is a hard decission, I really love the sound and look of Kawai piano + it has a nice speakers on board...Help me:)
Thx, I've just bought Roland FP-4 barely used for something like $1,230 (with dedicated Roland stand!) and the market price is $1.8K here in PL( no stand!).
i might get this piano. and do you know how many effects that it has stored on it? like synthesizer mode and electic piano and all the flutes and stuff
prety much yes. There´s minor exceptions of course, but argentinian have more or less the same thinking, like americans, I mean cmon, its well known you are all like Homer Simpson. xD
all in all very good, but i didn't like the sound of Guitar, well, I have 2 offers, yamaha psr 900 and a second hand cp33 both almost at the same price. but the guitar sounds amazin in the psr .. quite confused!
Wow, nice. Great piano you have. Hey, is this bad? I want to buy this one digital piano, but instead of having graded hammer keys, it has something called genuine hammer action keys. is that still good, or is it bad?
I'm not too familiar with all the names they give these keyboards.
You should just go to a music store and try out a bunch of different models and choose the one you think has the best feel and the best sounds for the money.
The first one I recognized as one of Bach's little minuets. It's in the "Notebook for Anna Magdalena" It's one of the first songs I was assigned by the piano teacher when I was much shorter and there are several nice little tunes in that book.
I use Logitech Z-4 computer speakers, which are pretty inexpensive and work fine although the sound is a little thin for me. It has a subwoofer but the midrange is not very loud. So you're probably better off with a good set of studio monitors or performance speakers. Check out the forums at "pianoworld dot com" for discussions on speakers for digital pianos.
Both. Some of these tunes are existing themes that I have obviously memorized, but some stuff I made up on the fly. In both cases I play them by ear, though. So yes, I have the melody in my head and I know what keys I have to press to make that melody come out.
what is the polyphony on this?

I believe that you need an external amplifier for this piano, no? If so, what amp do you use?

i still prefer a real piano, or a Midi controller + a top notch sampler like The Grand, Pianoteq, or Ivory.

Agree, but many of Yamaha's non-piano sounds are softer.

I want to learn how to play. Would this be good?
adelgado75 2 years ago
I would say so! The keys are seen as very well, some the the best under all stage pianos.
The sound: I prefer always YAMAHA to Kawai or Roland (for classical music).
What I wanted to ask the pianist: the picture lokks a little bit unattractive. Why ?-when do you ever see the cables or the baclk of the piano.
The pinao is actually one of the most pretty pianos, but here it looks very cheap and cellar-stuff-like

This is and absolute incredible piano, i highly recommend it.
But the real reason I got it was for the grand piano sounds.
I really don't use anything else.
If you want strings, organs, pads, and electric pianos i'd go for a Korg or Roland, or even the CP-300

A pity that your "photograph" of the CP33 is not very impressing.
The CP33 actually looks very pretty and of rather high-value.
Especially he keys look and feel great. Also the black corpus looks very nice. One feels very comfortable with the material product-characterisics.
Your video does not transport these features.
Anyway, nice and informing video and very ggod playing. Thanks!
