They are assembling and finishing frames, doing everything by hand. The painting and details and fine adjustment on the dropout inserts are all seen being done by hand.
As an aside, the carbon fibre factories in China are of as good a standard and work to ISO standards just like their Western counterparts. The frames are then assembled and painted in Italy. Most of the big manufacturers have been doing this for years.
They aren't made in china, but the video is a Chinese tv show that is going through a tour of the Pinarello factory in Italy. All the workers are Italian.
If this is a Chinese factory, then where are all the chinese factory workers!? All I could see were europeans - only one asian guy who appars to be being shown around by the Italian presenter.
I would buy from China,Hongkong or Taiwan any day.they might have cheaper labor, but they are way smarter than Americans!!! And pay much more attention to detail than anyone!!!!
i make a point of NEVER buying any high ticket price products from China. I prefer to keep Americans and Europeans in jobs then the chinese. I also think Chinese products are inferior and carry little kudos. Pinarello a italian company only make bikes in China because the workforce are cheap and they can make even more profit. Buy American. Buy European, the chinese are undermining all of us with their shitty made crap
@lndac02 funny 4 years ago bought a cannodale super 6, the BBt split in 2 the carbon fiber cracked and it was american made $4K. 2 years ago I bought a chinese carbon fiber frame...i have already 16K mi on it, and still strong. Stop complaining for stuff you cant do nothing about it. Better, take advantage of it. True not everything from china is durable..neither if is made here. look a the bad quality of cars they made in the US, they were crushed by the Japanese, who we thought had bad quality
@richardriver how you gonna buy a bike when all the jobs have gone abroad in a few years and your either on welfare or low wage? its exactly that kind of mental behaviour that helps people the other side of the world get your job. everythiung made in china is shit, no IF or buts. Anyone who pays for anything shipped out of China is a Sucker in my opinion. They make shit stuff and steal American jobs, don't defend the chinese, they sure as hell would never do the same for you
@lndac02 how I am gonna boy a bike?US is the highest consuming economies in the world people buy stuff all the time and would buy more if s cheaper. Labor is cheaper outside US...makes sense...if I were a producer I and probably you would do the same.
Nearly all of any bike's frame is made in China/Hong Kong/Taiwan. This likely includes bikes like Pinarello which are thought to have the best reputation for quality in manufacture and design.
My bike is from that online store, you know. If I were not laid off, I could afford one of those fabulous, juicy Pinarellos.
Not sure where you're getting "china" from. Those are all caucasian workers in that factory (are you implying that the Chinese factory imported Italian workers to China?) The narrator is speaking English with an Italian accent.
Also, the subtitles are Japanese, not Chinese.
This is a Japanese video of a tour of the Pinarello factory in Italy.
Epic failure of ignorance on the part of the poster.
@elephantcup The bikes are actually made in Hong Kong now, to be fair to the poster. They are only allowed to say 'Fatta in Italia' because they are painted and finished in Italy.
Anyway that's just to have fun , don't worry about it, you just made a stupid comment
I replied , you made another one, I replied again .....for me it's over but if you want to make a fool of yourself more than you did till now , your choice ...... ;-))))

ancient greek ) , just recall that to urself the next time you'll pretend to make fun on outer people's attitude in speaking English despite you show low skills and crappy abilities in it ......
You're making such a fool of yourself comment after comment that I think you've got the secret intention of suiting a Terentius' play dated 165-160 b .C . , Heautontimorumenos -
The owner of video is a brainless retard (Pinarello could even denounce him for calumny and defamation ) : Pinarello bykes are not made in -china at all, only the main frame in carbon prince is made in china ( taiwna factories don't make bycicles in carbon, try to get informed before spelling asinine cooemtns and funny bs ) by Pinarello design and project ,the framea are inspected and checked by Pinarello's Italian tech experts just there in chinese factory before being delivered to Italy .
Though the owner never wrote Pinareloo's factory is located in China, the same I want to punctualize that
Pinarellos' factory is in Treviso ( Villorba location ) northeast Italy and Pinarello bycicles are all originally made in Italy, no matter Pinarello itself gave the job of carbon made frame to a chinese factory !!
@Trulyloyale Umm, why don?t you try and get informed, ALL the best carbon frames including carbon itself is MADE IN TAIWAN! In factoryes like Giant (A1 team), Merida, Fuji and Topkey (where the best are made)
there are many bikes that are mabe in chine but they have many qualities as there are the cheap bike frames and other who use the best qualities.eg Iphone 4 is made in china and it ise the best smartphone in market
Complimenti a tutti quei coglioni che comprano a 10000 euro una bici che finita costera si e no 800 euro!! guardate su e bay venditori internazionali un dogma 2012 costa 500 euro telaio piu forcella gia verniciati|||
@TonyL78 sure, you spent the money, make sure it's italian! Congrats on new frame. Dogmas are very nice bike and I don't think there are open mould asymmetric dogmas available yet for purchase, but lots of open mould prince/FP's/KHOB's being painted as dogmas (nicely done though) Maybe next year you'll see the asymmetric moulds on eBay. Even de rosa and colnago unpainted open moulds are everywhere, just have to know where to look.
@elinikas73 said from a greek who notoriously is in troubles even with his native language .....))) PP
Anyway I'd used a different adj. for that : bizarre in place of impressive, since historically the 2 international and most important languages in cycling are French and Italian, English comes behind them but for sure ahead of greek .....! ;-) lol
@Trulyloyale Yeah you have absolutely right Mr clever boy,I have huge problem with my language...it's such a richly language, that's became extremely hard for me when i have to choose between words..
@elinikas73 I didn't say you have huge problems with your native language on yourself Mr IQed ungrown man , I meant the average greek has, which is absolutely true !
So if the average greek has huge problemS ( with plural s ) with his native language, you can imagine with English ...
And the best evidence of that is just your last comment in bad English with a couple of English grammar mistakes , so you look quite pathetic and ridiculous as " professor " of English since you can't speak it
spraying with no respirator in Italy I find depressing. I would have expected Pinarello to be a more responsible employer. The guy spraying will suffer with respiratory disease in the years ahead. Pinarello charge enough for their bikes, so they have no excuse. This promo video does more harm then good to their image
Not all bikes are made in China. Especially non conventional bikes. Gazelle Bikes are made in Holland, Mango Velomobiles (recumbent trike with fairing), are made in Holland. Cattrike is made in the USA. Sure most bikes are made in China, but not all.
@KrunchyJD I bought a American made bike that will never rust or chip and unlike carbon never fibre wear out. it looks good/FANTASTIC and has a lifetime frame guarentee. Yes its expensive, but consider this bike will last me 30 years plus and will always look good. I bought a titanium Moots from colorado USA. check em out they are a beautiful ride!
this is globalization means, produce in china to get cheaper product, sell worldwide very expensive so that you can make more money, hahaha. Customer fuck up
Still made in China though. The carbon comes from Japan, much like Columbus tubes come from Italy but the carbon is processed into the frame in a factory called Carbotech in Shenzhen China. Its not the only brand being made there and although Carbotech also sell open mould frames for small businesses like mine, the private moulds are only for the companies like Focus or Pinarello who pay the tooling charge and the patents. Italian brand, not production.I didn't notice any italians there last time
@HOPSING08 Did you watch the video? Did you see the people working on the bikes? Do they look Japanese? Chinese? Or perhaps Italian? Strange, how they would build their bikes in a factory in China full of Italian people.
You are right. This is a coverage of Pinarello factory in Italy by a Japanese TV station. But I also know that not all the Pnarello bikes are made in Italy.
@215alessio Hi Alessio, the carbon used by 90% of the industry comes from Torayca in Japan. Much like Columbus tubing comes from italy but that doesn't make every columbus tubed frame italian from origin.
Pinarello is still being made in Shenzhen China in one of the most popular factories called Carbotech. These guys also make Principia, Focus, and a whole bunch of other high end brands. Pinarello branding is still italian and I gather their product development also italian.
@215alessio, As cameras are forbidden inside the factory, no. If you want to confirm this then you could go to the trouble of contacting their office in Shenzhen but the point I was making here is that it shouldn't matter where your bike comes from. Pinarellos and so many other brands cost what they do because of the cost involved (in italy) with product development and marketing. You can buy open mould frames per 50pcs from the same factory for very little money but they are not the same bike.
@simmske80 , Audi is a german car manufacturor and although some of them are made in Belgium, you are still buying the german engineering when you buy an Audi. Like I said, almost everything is made in Asia because they work harder for less. In China the average wage is now 14% higher than last year. Thats a good start, lets hope the factories dont move to India or Pakistan to keep production costs low. We should consider these things whenever we spend our money. Start supporting fair trade.
China Bicycle Company specializing in the manufacture of the bicycles since 1985, we were No.1 export manufacturer of the world in bicycle business in 1990's, we manufactured a wide range of bikes for various Japanese, US and European brands such as Schwinn, Diamondback, Specialized, Scott, MBK, Repco, Apollo, Hodaka and Deki. belgian companies got theyr bikes from shenzen like norta and thompson I will dig this out about "our" italian Pinarello
@215alessio Hi Alessio, The point I'm trying to make is not a negative one. Salesmen in bike shops should stop lying to their customers about the origin of their products. We as europeans are not in any position to assume that Chinese production is in eany way less of quality than here in europe. I work in this industry and have visited some 20 chinese factories where high end bikes are made. If you see how hard those people work and hear what they earn then you will only appreciate it more.
@simmske80 I'm not saying there aren't any Pinarello are Made In Taiwan. Taichung, Taiwan is where all the bike factories are located. I'm ordering a Dogma 2 and Wrench Science said the Dogma 2 is Made In Italy!!
@TonyL78 Italians have a certain LAW that enables them to say made in Italy, if the cost of assembling the bike + painting (which in some bikes is done in Italy) is greater than the production of the frame (which for Pinarello is in China, Taiwan is too expensive for them apparently).
So no, your next bike is NOT made in Italy. The ONLY european made bike is BMC.
Italian bikes have not evolved in ages, somebody should tell Pinarrelo, that a wavy front and rear fork is half as stiff as straight
@maticeva your stupid bullshiting and bizarre comment looks so typically ...slavic , which is like saying so childishly provoking ...!! xDD
If you wanna play such a role, 1st learn some basics of bycicle and 2nd learn to expose with a bit of logic your pathetically messy statements !!
Italians have the most stringent and severe laws in EU about facotring marks and labels ( something probably in underdeveloped slovenia you don't know at all ...) if a byke is totally made in Italy,
builders are allowed to put the made in Italy label, otherwise not , differently from other european countries.
That is so, simply and fairy ...
Any other bs about costs of frame and other kid's idiocies youur thiny brain invented, are only bs of a slovenian idiot. Full stop ( and in any case Italians don't buy both china and taiwan frames 'cos they're crappily maid, cheap price , 0 quality and 0 technology , probably they're good for subnormal slovenians ...) .
Italian factories that make all original bycicles, all made in Italy bycicles which means the best bycicles in the world for innovation , technology, quality and evolution due to the costant researching and passion of Italians, who since ever are know to be the best bycicles builders of the world !!
Take this tip, slovenian child brain : wash your slavial empty head and fill it with a bit of brain , in case a slavian retard knows what it means ( which I doubt of ...) !!
@Trulyloyale I'm sorry I offended your childish brain. I have stated the FACTS, and your laws are as stringent enough to let the biggest mafia in the world work freely inside the country, not to mention you have a criminal prime minister!
Italy sells the most crap in the EU, you have 2000 bycicle 'manufacturers', of which 99,999 are total crap.
Look a your law, before it got changed, you were allowed to put a Made in Shitaly sticker if the cost of production is lower, than the work in italy
@maticeva I couldn't care less of the retarded statements and farcical idiocies of a typical slovenian child brain ( don't ripp off redundant insults like a 5 years kid, you brainless moron ...) who made a fool of himself enough posting his bizarre rubbish and inventing lies like a jackass ...!! ;-)
Our laws in certain matters , fight ag mafia comprehensive if you look at all criminal bosses put in jail differently from certain shithole countries like spain or germany where
they live indisturbed and can make their business , are the most stringent and avanced in EU , you can check it all in whatever source you want if you have still 1 gr of brain abiulity in your wooden-minded slavian empty head !!
Not my fault if you spell only upon ridiculous and stupid personal opinions , I talked upon TRUE FACTS knowing the subject and not as a funny retarded clueless slovenian jakcass , that's the difference !!
that's what may happen in a democratic country when dummy people give their vote in free elections, for sure it doesn't happen in a slavian shithole nation where people are not allowed to give their vote to a WAR CRIMINAL and a DISGUSTING SCUM named TITO FOR MORE THAN 40 YEARS .....!!
And I repeat , despite your childish bs and your bizarre nonsenses Italian bycicles are SINCE EVER the best and most advanced technologically ( well just talking of technics and you as slovenian
are not supposed to have any idea about, since when the subnormal slovenians know anything of technics ? You're as retarded and underdeveloped as the savage turkish ...PP ! ) and Italy is the homeland of bycicle since 100 years , sorry for your 5 years old thiny brain but that's a holy truth knowed by the whole world ...!!
As x the quantity oyou dreamed about like an envious child, that's another evidence of your typical slovenian stupidity , 'cos real stats are totally different in numbers !
And looking at laws, Italy is the only one country that NEVER allowed to put made in Italy on stuff not produced in our coutntry 'cos there's an abyss in quality and making abilities as all customers and all prof riders in the world know so well , try harder or get urself informed instead of posting your trolling shit only to look a cluless idiot !!
Other countries used to do that, like made in barbarian france on their clothes , made in shithole stinky germany on their machineries and so
And as for Colnago and Bianchi and all other worldwide bycicles , xdDD see how stupid and ignorant you are ?? Giving the manufacturing of one piece of carbon prince to an eastern factory is not letting make bycicle in a foreing country, don't talk of things you know anything about !!
The main part of frames of Pittarello ( as I said in my prev comment, learn to understand written comments, you funny jackass ) bycicles like of ALL bycicles made in the world are
made in China ( and not Taiwan, again shut your clueless kid's mouth if you have no idea ) under the project and the supervision of Italian tech experts and the entire bycicle is assembled and built in Pittarello factory in Treviso, Italy !!"
Also get your thiny brain informed that the 90% of all carbon prince ( the material the frames are made of ) is produced in China and not in Taiwan ....got it now clueless and ingorant trolling dumbass ?? PP
well we definitely don't know the laws of our country, so we need to be taught from a retarded ignorant clueless
child brain of web troll who speands his time writing funny bs and inventing fake data and facts in internet ....!!XDDDD Ahahaha
Well schools in the shithole country you're from must be at same crappy level as turkey or spain if they rose such a brainless and ignorant idiot as you !! ))))
The law you lied about NEVER changed in Italy, it's the same from end of 1960s (1st country
to make such a law in Europe) , learn to do your searches on google , you clueless jackass ...! xDD
And as x corruption , we have a corrupt prime minister, but unfortunately other countries can give no lesson in it : USA and UK f.i. caused the worst economic crisis ever due to their inner corruption and crappy banking system and also in their attitude in deregulate anything making bllody mess and ibnfernal troubles , so ...
Anyway that's irrelevant to present subject, you retard
which is Pinarello bycicles are made in Italy and not in China so they're Italian and Italian bycicles like many other things are the best in the world, made in the best way with the best technology and best innovative project
upon the best quality existing, differently from other coutnries that make and sell only utter crap !!
Sorry x your envy, grow up pathetic child brain and leanr any basics instead of inventing false data and in telling lies like a 5 years old kid !! XDD
@Trulyloyale ah well, at least I am not the one that believes, that any (including Colnago, Bianchi,...) frames are made in Italy. And judging from the fact, that you do not even know your own laws, and that all Italians in our country are aither thieves or selling crap (most bank an post robbers are Italians, the last robbery was done by two already wealthy kids from Bergamo, just for fun...). Even if you have strict laws, they dont help if the priminister is more corrupt than the mafia.
@asianlvr70 theres nothing wrong with the quality. Almost everything is made in China now. Colnago, Cannondale, you name a brand and 9 times out of 10 there is some percent of chinese manufacturing involved. Time is one of few generic brands that is actually still made in the same country that the brand is registerd. Time make great bikes, as do Colnago, Giant and Pinarello. Don't knock the country it comes from, we are not in any position to assume that the chinese are making inferior quality.
the best bike of all time and truly made in france is time RXR or time rxrt and some colango bikes like ferrari no bike will ever top time rxr or rxrt bike the best if you truly know how much retailers make money of these idiots who pay over 10 thousands for bike they should burry their heads in the dirt . dogma 5500 will cost the retailer not the new one in the business the capital if u know what im talking about less than 2000 around 1500 so they make 300/100 gain ofevery bike or frame
of course made in china but first one or in order for the design to become a bike it has to be supervised by an italian CEO and later the rest of the models will follow chinese can not make shit these greedy american italy spain country outsourced all their products to chinese who can not make jeans all their products worth shit , clothes hats sneakers etc worth garbage million year from now chinese products will stay garbage they don't have it you pay the american price for chinese s
@TheAnnibelle You are so right and i agree 100%. Products made in china are shitty and crap!! This is why america is going to the shit hole because fukin CEOS are shipping american products overseas and leaving americans with no jobs! I dont know where the united states is going to be in 20 years. Pretty soon you are going to see america the new china and we are all going to be riding bikes to work like the chinks do!!
ive been to this factory it is in trevisio .as the video shows all the work on the video is done their that i have no doubt .obviously the frames are made elswere .the molds are designed and made in taiwan .rumour has it they cost upwards of $50 k each which might explain why you pay a bit more for them as the dogma frame for instance has i think 12 sizes each requiring a different mould i would think .then they are sent to italy to give it the italian panache .
@dennislightfoot The molds are most likely between 1/20th and 1/5th the rumored cost, depending on size. Regardless of whether they are cast or CNC, aluminum or steel. Molds are for sections, not the entire bike and many can be shared among different sizes. Parts are trimmed and bonded together to make the frame. An estimate for the line would be 20 molds at an average of $2.5K each. They can make 3 sets for $150K. With prepreg they should be able to pull 1 part every 2 hours.
Net would be 4 complete bikes for every size in an 8 hour shift. This capacity should be plenty.
Also, if anyone is interested the asymmetrical weight and stiffness changes on the different sides of the bike can just as easily be handled internally with the layup. A simple change to the type of fabric or orientation of the same fabric will get this done. But it is a lot easier to market something people can see. And if you don't have good employees, the external engineering may be safer.
Silly boys. The frames are molded in Taiwan. All design and fabrication/painting is done in Italy. Still a really fucking fast bike. Also the Taiwanese have carbon fiber down. Most all carbon frames come out of Taiwan.
Guukotech is the only one to get this in this little comment forum. Though, Guu you may want to consider learning how to spell before calling one a loser for their lack of research. What is a "losser" anyway? Someone who suffers a great loss? Just curious.
@dadwhitsett Definitely not a good sign, he does have the filter vent sucking assuming its even on, but still it would be nice to see someone following proper safety procedures especially if he's considered a pro or a role model. The other possibility is he's using water based but there is still the pigments which im sure aren't good for you.
Looks like a Japanese visitor was showing around the factory. The workers look Caucasian. I'm Chinese, so I am pretty sure those workers don't look Chinese to me. And yes, those captions are not Chinese either, they are in Japanese.
All a bunch of lossers are you people, I have worked in the industrie and the frames are made in China and Taiwan and painted in the main factory in Italy, before you gives comments learn first a bit more about the industry
In fact the pinarello FP 2 in an italian bike store costs about 1800 euro. Service and body measuremets included. Sometimes you have to wait, cos they have to order the bike. They only have some show models in the store.
Same thing in belgium but the prise is already 2500 euro for the FP2
The store only has 1 showmodel for each category, and they mostly have to order your specific model.
The belgian store keeper assured me the same thing that the one in italy said; the frames are made by hand
Specialised is an North American brand. Shure North America can make bikes, no doubt about that! In fact the materials used for those bikes are also studied by Nasa.
See also materials for fishing sports.
But to save production money, the SPECIALIZED bikes are not made in USA. But in China under license of the USA brand "Specialized"
Pinarello is to prouwd to close the factory in Treviso Italy.
@215alessio No, Cannondale is DESIGNED in the USA, but it's MADE by the fucking Chinks. I love how even they've sold out, you can see a HUGE DESIGNED IN USA sticker, but on the bottom of the bottom bracket.....shhh....made in Taiwan, FUCK CANNONDALE
@SvalbardJanMayen1976 Dont be racist dude! Most frames 2day r either made in Taiwan/China, unless they r TOP range. Sticker will say made in X, as long as majority % cost of the bike/frame comes fr X. Manufact in Taiwan,40% n painted in Italy,60%, = made in Italy. If ur concerned w Chinks making ur goods, y not throw away EVERYTHING of urs thats made in CN. U must b rich since ur always buying made in USA? coz CANNONDALE could't afford it, can u? China is todays super power not US, go figure y?
As a big bike fan, once and for all i would really want to know where all the big companys making their top of the line bikes at... parts, bonding, painting - the whole story, no secrets! this look to me like Italy, like a lot in here saying.
but still would love to know the WHOLE truth this big "grey" area in the bike industry
the vid's title is totally ridicolous. this is just a japanese captioned reportage of some japanese tv from an italian Pinarello's factory. had the captions been written in hindi, tagalog or swahili you would have believed pinarellos were being built in India, Philippines and Niger, respectively. you guys are just too much!
actually, i am not surprised at all seeing a bunch of italians biting the bait: whenever somebody talks thrash of Italy they are all ready to jump on it. Svegliatevi idioti
all carbon frames are now built in the East, and the sad part is the prices they want for a name. I wonder the price they really have in a frame like the Prince?
They paint the bikes without a secondary air supply? I'm sure the clear has a hardener in it. The painter is going to have or has serious health issues.
You know, I like Pinarellos and Colnagos (though I ride a steel Guerciotti most of the time). What strikes me is just how crude this factory is, compared to the Trek factory where they make the Madones (only seen online) and the Serotta factory, which I've visited. The guy was talking about precision, but I have to say, there seemed to be NOTHING precise about the way they were setting those dropouts. I think I'd sooner buy a high-end Tiawan frame...and I hate to say that!
LOL, this is the Treviso factory, and it said so in the Japanese subtitles.

Trulyloyale 4 months ago
Though the owner never wrote Pinareloo's factory is located in China, the same I want to punctualize that
Pinarellos' factory is in Treviso ( Villorba location ) northeast Italy and Pinarello bycicles are all originally made in Italy, no matter Pinarello itself gave the job of carbon made frame to a chinese factory !!
Logic and simple .

@simmske80 No mate the Carbon comes from Yapan, Carbon 60HM1K Torayca® Indeed the company names Torayca JAPAN not shenzen!
The tubing stile shapes and ergonomy was studied in Italy, the carbon comes from Japan.
Mate , Italy produces composite fuselages and wings for Boeing dreamliner 787 ,
Made in China: Norta, Specialized, Bulls, Minerva, Thompson, Superia, Gazelle, Dunlop bikes,
Those are the real gangsters, you pay 2500 euro for those fake bikes
215alessio 11 months ago
@215alessio Hi Alessio, the carbon used by 90% of the industry comes from Torayca in Japan. Much like Columbus tubing comes from italy but that doesn't make every columbus tubed frame italian from origin.
Pinarello is still being made in Shenzhen China in one of the most popular factories called Carbotech. These guys also make Principia, Focus, and a whole bunch of other high end brands. Pinarello branding is still italian and I gather their product development also italian.
simmske80 11 months ago
@simmske80 Do you have any source to affirm your statement?
215alessio 11 months ago
@215alessio, As cameras are forbidden inside the factory, no. If you want to confirm this then you could go to the trouble of contacting their office in Shenzhen but the point I was making here is that it shouldn't matter where your bike comes from. Pinarellos and so many other brands cost what they do because of the cost involved (in italy) with product development and marketing. You can buy open mould frames per 50pcs from the same factory for very little money but they are not the same bike.
simmske80 11 months ago
@simmske80 , Audi is a german car manufacturor and although some of them are made in Belgium, you are still buying the german engineering when you buy an Audi. Like I said, almost everything is made in Asia because they work harder for less. In China the average wage is now 14% higher than last year. Thats a good start, lets hope the factories dont move to India or Pakistan to keep production costs low. We should consider these things whenever we spend our money. Start supporting fair trade.
simmske80 11 months ago

215alessio 11 months ago
@215alessio Hi Alessio, The point I'm trying to make is not a negative one. Salesmen in bike shops should stop lying to their customers about the origin of their products. We as europeans are not in any position to assume that Chinese production is in eany way less of quality than here in europe. I work in this industry and have visited some 20 chinese factories where high end bikes are made. If you see how hard those people work and hear what they earn then you will only appreciate it more.

TonyL78 6 months ago
@TonyL78 Italians have a certain LAW that enables them to say made in Italy, if the cost of assembling the bike + painting (which in some bikes is done in Italy) is greater than the production of the frame (which for Pinarello is in China, Taiwan is too expensive for them apparently).
So no, your next bike is NOT made in Italy. The ONLY european made bike is BMC.
Italian bikes have not evolved in ages, somebody should tell Pinarrelo, that a wavy front and rear fork is half as stiff as straight

Time make great bikes, as do Colnago, Giant and Pinarello. ive been to this factory it is in trevisio .as the video shows all the work on the video is done their that i have no doubt .obviously the frames are made elswere .the molds are designed and made in taiwan .rumour has it they cost upwards of $50 k each which might explain why you pay a bit more for them as the dogma frame for instance has i think 12 sizes each requiring a different mould i would think .then they are sent to italy to give it the italian panache .
dennislightfoot 1 year ago
@dennislightfoot The molds are most likely between 1/20th and 1/5th the rumored cost, depending on size. Regardless of whether they are cast or CNC, aluminum or steel. Molds are for sections, not the entire bike and many can be shared among different sizes. Parts are trimmed and bonded together to make the frame. An estimate for the line would be 20 molds at an average of $2.5K each. They can make 3 sets for $150K. With prepreg they should be able to pull 1 part every 2 hours.
boardmill 1 year ago
Net would be 4 complete bikes for every size in an 8 hour shift. This capacity should be plenty.
Also, if anyone is interested the asymmetrical weight and stiffness changes on the different sides of the bike can just as easily be handled internally with the layup. A simple change to the type of fabric or orientation of the same fabric will get this done. But it is a lot easier to market something people can see. And if you don't have good employees, the external engineering may be safer.

Same thing in belgium but the prise is already 2500 euro for the FP2
The store only has 1 showmodel for each category, and they mostly have to order your specific model.
The belgian store keeper assured me the same thing that the one in italy said; the frames are made by hand

Japanese TV Report in Pinarello old Factory in Treviso ITALY
princeoftheroad 1 year ago
the vid's title is totally ridicolous. this is just a japanese captioned reportage of some japanese tv from an italian Pinarello's factory. had the captions been written in hindi, tagalog or swahili you would have believed pinarellos were being built in India, Philippines and Niger, respectively. you guys are just too much!
actually, i am not surprised at all seeing a bunch of italians biting the bait: whenever somebody talks thrash of Italy they are all ready to jump on it. Svegliatevi idioti

some people just stupid, ignorant, or like to make surprising title "WOW, italian bicycle company makes them in china" even its bogus.

Why is this titled "...made in China"? The subtitles are in Japanese. I guess Japanese characters look Chinese to the uninformed.

all carbon frames are now built in the East, and the sad part is the prices they want for a name. I wonder the price they really have in a frame like the Prince?

Made in Italy, documentary film done by Japanese, that explains the Japanese text on screen.

quite all Pinarello bikes are made in Taiwan.
You can be sure of this...
