is it just me or does this sorta remind eny1 of dead space where they go into a supposedly abandoned ship and now they're trapped and fighting for theyre lives
Epic Fail! I thought this was a trailer, yet you gave the whole movie away! If you look at it as a tribute vid...then...it...KICKS ASS! I love this movie and so do you!
Hasn't it been somehow boringly proved that black holes are just "dead" stars and not holes of any kind, and if sucked in, you'd just be crushed flat dead thanks to the force?
oh yeah. and put 25 year old girls with big boobs as "science-experts" in.....make the cygnus a cgi fest.....well, like transformers.....put chris rock in there as comedic relief and let korn do the soundtrack.....
@BigFatCode And this is the reason special effect movies suck. Nothing beats classic set movies and real special effects. CGI is the death of realism. Blade Runner, Star Wars 4 5 6, close encounters of the 3rd kind and The Thing. These movies still look amazing today and put most things to shame. Why? They use sets and good sets alone with matte paintings will always look better than any CGI.
Fantastic recut. 1000x better than the official Disney trailer! Only thing I would have left out is the shot of the guy's eyes in the robot helmet, that was a pretty big reveal which should be saved for the viewing IMO. Still, amazing job.
Have to agree with what others have said, this trailer is better than the one Disney used to promote the film! Nice job. Ever think of making modern day trailers for other yesteryear sci fi films?
Danny Boyle would direct a remake of "The Black Hole", hire the writer of "28 Days Later" to write the screenplay, and have Ronald D. Moore produce the film, and FINALLY, shoot the film in Panavision. Great idea, huh? It would more bleak and more violent and dark and finaly, it would be distributed by Touchstone Pictures. Great idea, right? Right?!
A truly fantastic editing job. The way this was put together thematically and brought to the climax made the movie look a lot better than the movie was. However the special effects for the time, still with the old technology and real sets that truly made it look believable this whole fantastic world were unsurpassed in many ways from many sci fi movies.
Very nice editing and I like the music choice, however, my favorite part is that you got rid of Kate's ridiculous "habitable life" comment. Well done.
I tried doing exactly that ... unfortunately, the soundtrack didn't sound modern enough for me. Also, some of the better tracks from the film aren't on the official album. If anyone knows where to get those, plz tell!
Very, VERY awesome editing and music. Plays up the dark aspects of the movie very well. If I had one nitpick it would be that you really end up telling the whole story here instead of teasing it, but that's what a lot of trailers do nowadays.
This was the perfect trailer for the Black Hole, concisely and compellingly illustrating what makes this film special-- it's rare blend of gothic horror and science fiction, visualized with power and epic scale.
wow!!!excellent job groome007!!!I thought that was great---I saw the movie when I was in like 6th grade (and was a little freaked out by the imagery toward the end)---this is great better than the original trailor 5stars!
Wow, this is amazing, a much better trailer than the original 1979 one. I like how it focuses on the darker core of the plot, rather than downplaying it.
Probably one of the most underrated movies ever made. It was released during the Star Wars era and was put to the side. Now when people see this, they love it.
Excellent work. Great scene and audio selections. Flows logically and builds in tension. This presents the film much more closely to what I imagine the core story was supposed to be. Darker. Disney's 'cute' elements only gave the film a case of multiple personality disorder, IMO.
I agree ... there was a much more interesting darker element to the story that was only hinted at. It works in the sense that they allow your imagination to fill in the gaps ... but unfortunately they ultimately decided to make a kids movie ... Never a good idea IMO - Look what happend to Indiana Jones IV.
Great trailer.. Massive amount of spoilage though!

@cazmaj Yeah ... I guess it's more of a 'tribute' than a trailer. :)

Now lets imagine little children's reaction to this trailer who are waiting for something like Jungle book or Winnie Pooh....*Evil grin*

Nice fan editing work. But I think it would have been better if they used the music from the movie instead of the music from The Abyss.
There are a couple of tracks from The Black Hole that have a dark edgy sound to them.
