@ag1o80 Everybody in the ancient world (except for a few greek geniuses) thought the sun and the moon had an orbit i.e they orbited around the earth. Hence 91:1-2 "By the sun and its brightness; (1) By the moon as it follows it (the sun);" talks about the moon following the sun.
This is also why in the hadith (bukhari 54:421) Muhammad is asked where the sun goes and he says it goes until it waits underneath the throne of allah for his permission to rise on the other side

there is different word for earth in arabic each used in different context. but in english is always earth no matter what. The word in one point the word earth is used to describe the openness/spread, not in bigger scale, but from the point of view of the eye or person who is contact with the ground (its seems that way to us). so when its saying spread-out or spread out like carpet its talking about the point fo view of the eye. know the different definition of words before speaking.

First of all Quran is not a scientific book. It is a book of guidance. Guidance for the mankind who were created by the Creator (God) to worship him. It does have scientific facts in it but it does not need validation by science or science does not need validation by Quran. If Quran says moon has its orbit and it is going around the earth then earth must be round otherwise flat earth will have edges. If earth does not have edges then earth must be infinitely large and flat but the fact is Quran doesnt say anywhere that either earth has edges or it is infinitely flat therefore it must be round.
As for as calling earth flat, we do it even today. We say flat land or walking on a flat surface. You ever heard anyone said I am walking on a sphere? No of course not. Besides, nothing can orbit flat earth and yet Quran says moon is in orbit around the earth.

The word DAHAHA means expanded,spread out,evened and rolled up.Most of the Arabic word tend to have more than one meaning and it is understood in the relevant context. @ag1o80 Everybody in the ancient world (except for a few greek geniuses) thought the sun and the moon had an orbit i.e they orbited around the earth. Hence 91:1-2 "By the sun and its brightness; (1) By the moon as it follows it (the sun);" talks about the moon following the sun.
This is also why in the hadith (bukhari 54:421) Muhammad is asked where the sun goes and he says it goes until it waits underneath the throne of allah for his permission to rise on the other side

there is different word for earth in arabic each used in different context. but in english is always earth no matter what. The word in one point the word earth is used to describe the openness/spread, not in bigger scale, but from the point of view of the eye or person who is contact with the ground (its seems that way to us). so when its saying spread-out or spread out like carpet its talking about the point fo view of the eye. know the different definition of words before speaking.

Let me just repeat what the video is saying...
There are ONLY 32 verses that mention the moon but many of these refer to an orbit. There are ONLY 69 verses that mention the sun but many of these refer to an orbit.
However, there are 413 verses that mention the earth and NONE... NONE mention an earth in orbit!
Many of these verses mention an earth that is spread out like a bed/carpet and that is fixed!

If the embryologist you are mentioning is saying they do not conflict then he is word scrambling the Quran. However babies are developed in the same way they were 1400 years ago and we have since proven that his description is wrong. This is NOT the correct explanation for the process of embyology. First of all Quran is not a scientific book. It is a book of guidance. Guidance for the mankind who were created by the Creator (God) to worship him. It does have scientific facts in it but it does not need validation by science or science does not need validation by Quran. Where Quran does provide scientific evidence we take it as is and where science provides something that is not mentioned in Quran we also accept it.

Having said that I only have one thing to add for you.
If you reject faith that means you reject here after, which means when you die basically you have no idea what happens to you. Where we muslims try to live our life to make a better life in the here after.
Honestly, I would rather be safe than sorry. I would rather live a nice life in this world and also try to make my here after rather than take a risk of not knowing what happens to me when I die.

Truth is the existence of God, heaven and hell. How about going to heaven for doing the good things? You believe that life will end once you die, but for muslims it is the begning of a new era. Hypothetically speaking, If turns out there is no God after I die, then there is no punishment or reward for me. Fair enough. However, if it turns out there was a God, then guess what? you will be in trouble after your death for being a disbeliever. isn't it?

We are able to observe in ways we couldn't during Muhammeds time. We also know that this was a popularized theory during his time. I downloaded the .PDF version which allowed me to search for those key words. I searched for the word "Earth" and 413 results were found. I took a screen shot of every one of them and read the before and after verses and then i framed them into the video. I did the same for the words "Moon" and "Sun".

Yes i'm obviously aware that the word "earth" could refer to soil but you'd think at least one of those verses would refer to an orbit.
When the Moon and Sun is mentioned, the words ORBIT and FLOATING are included but out of 413 verses with the word "earth" in them, NONE refer to an orbit or floating. This, along with other verses suggests that they thought the earth was flat.

If Quran doesnt mention earths orbit then you will have to use your head for a change, after all Quran is not a book on physics.
If Quran says moon has its orbit and it is going around the earth then earth must be round otherwise flat earth will have edges. If earth does not have edges then earth must be infinitely large and flat but the fact is Quran doesnt say anywhere that either earth has edges or it is infinitely flat therefore it must be round.
Using little logic solves your problem.

As for as calling earth flat, we do it even today. We say flat land or walking on a flat surface. You ever heard anyone said I am walking on a sphere? No of course not. Besides, nothing can orbit flat earth and yet Quran says moon is in orbit around the earth.
Flat earth in the Quran means as it appears to an observer on the ground not when looking down from space.

No verses refer to "the other side" of the earth... Or what life is like elsewhere on the earth... But the quran has 100's of "proofs"? Where are these "proofs"? They can't even get the shape of the earth right!!
We do refer to the earth as flat but if i had to write about the earth then i'd mention (out of 413 times) that the earth is Spherical in shape!
