  • No wonder the U.S. is a bunch of Fat asses who are depressed!

  • Hey Josh, I'm interested in your services but I live in New Jersey. I'm also in Indiana during my school year. I feel that you could be of tremendous help to me in relieving my symptoms from what I suspect to be adrenal fatigue and neurotransmitter depletion. I wanted to know how I would go about getting your help without having to come to California. Thanks.

  • ‎... Yes common knowledge being spouted back at you, by a fitness instructor reading off a a script in the background... very interesting. I think he should put away his 3 fold poster board which I haven't even used since middle school to express myself in a visual way and just let people learn the truth from licensed professionals.

  • The body becomes accustomed to having the constant serotonin in your system, you do not need more of it because there is only a certain amount in which your body can process at a single time, any more would just be useless. Furthermore should you take a drug that increases the amount of serotonin, more people would become dependent on the amount of serotonin needed in the body and would ultimately lead to more suicides.

  • Excellent and important video. Thanks!

  • 80% of adults are on SSRIs? Huh? You sure about that statistic? Also, it's "supposedly," not "supposably." Thank you for making the video.

  • me personally, I usually just pour water at the bottom when the streams dry up, and just hope for the best.

  • Wow, I thought that high carb were good for serotonin. I know that our main nutrient need is for energy and carbs burn. Why does everyone on low carb diet crave carbs but people on high carb diet only get hungry? It's not craving if it's necessary for health. I think you're generalizing a little too fast about the high protein. Last I checked bananas and many carbs are high in AA tryptophan. Only Tryptophan can turn into serotonin btw, not 'protein', not 'amino acids', which actually compete

  • Awesome bro, you know your transmitters and SSRI's not most do and most dont recommend a healthy cave man nomadic style diet aka REAL food. Dam even milk and sugar etc....u got it all down pat, and yes Protein are the building blocks for our neurotransmitters. kudos very good vid, NA EXCELLENT VID.

  • I did the quesitonaire on Julia Ross' website and I got the highest score on Low Serotonin so I don't think I'm dealing with adrenal fatigue or any of the others. The associate at the nutritional/supplements store I went to, suggested that I try SAMe. I was wondering what your opinion is on using SAMe for low serotonin. Of course I'm also focusing on the diet changes you mentioned about carbs and white devils. I'm also exercising more.

  • @FizzyWodawg Do you have a reference for the heart thing buddy?

  • what about eating bread josh? is that ok?

  • I really enjoy your videos. I didn't know 5htp could raise cortisol in people with adrenal fatigue. Guess that's why I feel much better using the l-tryptophan. Thanks

  • The instance of suicide when starting on them is also very high.

There is iust as much sun on the east coast as on the west, during the winter there is less sun/daylight in the north than south of this hemisphere.

  • The instance of suicide when starting on them is also very high.

  • I was put on prozac for depression and it made me loony. Then I was switched to another and I got panic attacks. So a holistic nurse coworker of mine suggested Valerian. That did the trick. Problem solved. Never felt depressed or panic again.

  • Julia Ross

  • where did u get the estimated stat of 80% of the population. Someone was arguing with me want to source it.

  • Thanks!

  • I respect America more when I see good young American guys with knowledge and awareness of life and how to live it like that guy..Good Job.

  • Glad I could help!

  • omg, i was so close to going on prozac. of course my psychiatrist failed to mention the ''suicide fest'' when trying to come off them. how damn convenient.

thanks so much for this video. i found it very helpful.

  • great video. i know a dozen of women that are fat, fatigue and depressed. maybe they could see the video clip, know the cause and hunt after their health and their dreams. great hope for many women and men

  • True, that is why we test and retest. The goal with alt treatments is to create balance!

  • @joshrubineastwest I would love to know more on the cautions of giving 5-htp to people with adrenal dysfunction, or rather realy POORr adrenal function. Also, any other people you should be careful with in regards to 5-htp? Thanks.

  • Terrific video! I am currently considering going the natural route with the very things that you mentioned: 5-HTP, GABA and L-Tyrosine.

  • I'm really interested in the research about carbs momentarily raising serotonin - you are right, most dieticians recommend clients eat more carbs for that reason. Is julia ross the source for that or someone else?

    Thanks

  • Thanks, that was a really good video about the affects of serotonin.

  • Super important! But there are people who need AA balancing secondary to a severe deficiency from poor eating, chemicals, other drugs, etc

  • Hey Josh, how important do you think having goals are in depression? Replacing SSRI's with 5htp and trypto are cool but isnt it just another band aid? How do you coach people to get more enjoyment out of life so they dont need supps at all? Thanks,

    Ryan

  • You are welcome to share your opinion. These people though are the ones that rec what you are doing off research. Two things: research shows that when you eat carbs, it raises serotonin levels. The thing they don't tell you is that it is for a split second and only in people that are hypoglycemic. As well, research shows it does not cross the BBB...well it does. It only does not in people are do not change their quality of food intake...meaning keep eating GMO foods with chemicals on them.

  • part 2 - but I manage my migraines with B's, Mag's, D's, Feverfew, butterbur and more herbs/ supplements. So it is very important to me to get correct information about neurotransmitters as keeping these good determines how healthy I stay. Please clarify the brain barrier and protein vs,. carbs for me. Thank You :)

  • Continuation: atcually most of nothing will cross the BBB when you are toxic and deficient in nutrients. I would look into this more (Julia Ross), as she has, I have and many others have helped people on SSRI's with proper nutrition and amino acid intake, at the right time and dosage.

  • PLEASE know I am not auguring. I want to better understand this. I have very low serotonin and some other low neutrotransmitters ( can you say menopause - yuck! lol ) BUT this is what I have been taught.. L -trips and 5 htp do not cross our brain barrier, hence do not help ? Protein lowers our S levels, hence when I feel a migraine ( due to low S ) coming on I am told to eat HIGH carbs? I ( sadly ) am on a very low dose of ssri.

  • Isn't L-tryptophan dangerous? even when used along with other medication?

  • Very good representaion towards a subject of health that everyone needs to learn about for themselves.

  • Julia Ross will be on Underground Wellness radio tonight!
