Sorry to blow up your thread, but It just made me recall something worth mentioning.
Also, the literati comment was originally "literalist" but my spell-checker flagged it, and while it was what i meant, the word literati popped in my head, and out of poetic sentiment, I decided to go with it, if only to inspire my literati within.
Run on anyone? Yeah thats me.
When VI's do bring me back in 35k years, to honor me with my planet named "The Warren Planetarium", I hope my run-on-ism remains intact.
Heheh, at 4 min or so, he destroys the little sprite that is interacting with his image and I just remembered the one big contribution I would like to have upon the medium. Both simple and complex in concept. I've considered... quantum physics... Life... IE the cries of the carrots...
Anyhow, It is respect for virtual life... I think VI(virtual intelligence) will never be "possible" until we make the shift in perception. I forget the exact name that I have come up with. ;(
@nazaxprime I've taken to only confronting VI's that seek to destroy the bits I represent in games because of this. Well, I mean.. I kind of try to consider it murder to simply destroy some bits acting in logic loops via circuitry in a virtual environment...
I should do a video reply...
hmm.
I know it sounds insane, but in 3 thousand years, I will have inhabited planets named after me. LOL
They will cite this as my first release document...
@nazaxprime I'm a bit of a literati, but If we really want immersion, and emergent behavior to arise, we need to allow our selves such a luxury... Thus we must first respect the lifeform. Same way that archaeon are at least respected. they may be a bit different, but surely VI's deserve some respect. Oh out of respect I must mention where I am loaning the term VI... As an avid gamer, I must cite either Palladium books or Steve Jackson Games... I think its SJG, but I cant recall exactly.
Many designers and artists have and continue to be influenced by Kruger. It's amazing that so many of these techniques were developed over 20 years ago by a single person.
@poxod Thats what happens when people actually think about things... Look at Copernicus, Galileo, and Di Vinci... Kruger is in their league if you ask me. "Technological positivist"... Nice one My Kruger.
