  • this is awesome...

  • what a great album! could not say enough about it. and yeah, trevor is the man.

  • All Yes members were phenomenal... they went through different phases with different personnel,,, all bands do - and they always came through w/ a shining result... no?

  • I was there... in the round... best show I've ever seen

  • Wow, what a bunch of exhibitionist remarks! That is ok though, because I intend to do some exhibitionism of my own!

Firstly, ok, TR was ok guitarist, but not to compare to Steve Howe. End.

Thirdly, Vangellis and Jon were ok, glad to see end of Yes for that.

    2. Alan White. Good addition. What comes after 2?

  • Want to hear an inside story about Rabin leaving YES?

Let's just say, everyone else in the band would just role with the punches when Trevor played all the keyboard parts, all the drum parts or all the vocals....BUT the day Chris walked in and Trevor was recording a bass track, it was ALL OVER. It didn't matter how close Squire and Rabin had been as friend....don't try replacing The Fish on bass...Big damn mistake. Whatever Chris said to him, he deserved it!

  • @deepcgi I heard that most of the Bass on the Talk album was Trevor.

As a side note, and as a Yesfan of over 30 years, it has recently dawned on me that the person that has always held this band back was Squire. He imposes himself on others with startling egocentricity by always being late, but his faults aside, I think had Yes had a different Bassist in sometime in its history could have been good for the band.

Looking at them today is embarrasing.

  • @neil73 Don't look at them today( watered down YES)...LOOK AT ANDERSON!!!!!!!!!! He's still carrying the YES TORCH! You've just got to listen and and go see him as he tours. COMING SOON.... ANDERSON....WAKEMAN and RABIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The official DVD of this tour has finally been released commercially after 20 years and this song is not on it. Glad to have my extended boot that I've had for almost 7 years waiting to make a purchase. This is from another show so great post ... nice to have

  • The opening guitar reminds me of Jeff Beck. Awesome!

  • 0:10 to 0:23 Love seeing & hearing Trevor glowing in the light, opening the song with his soaring violin tones on guitar..just transcendent. What an unforgettable moment in music.

  • What a waste of a perfectly good Steve Howe.

  • @DevSodDribble I adore Steve, but this song was composed by Trevor..with Chris. Trevor originally wrote this song as a solo piece, which was then requested by Arista Records' Clive Davis for Jon's 2nd ABWH record, which became a Yes record, "Union" which this wound up on. Steve didn't play on the record version either. This is Trevor's song. Steve did play alot on other songs on the "Union" tour though, songs that were from the classic Yes catalog and some of the songs from Union & was amazing.

  • @arweiss100 Yeah I know the whole story about Union and AWBH, etc. (I was in high school then and hadn't gotten into Yes yet. Wasn't mature enough hehe.) I'm just saying it seems like a shame to have Steve downgraded to being basically a background player.

  • @DevSodDribble Maybe on this song, I agree, but as I said, Steve got to also shine on songs such as "And You And I", "Shock To The System", "Roundabout" & more. he & Trevor traded off depending on whether it was a classic Yes song, or Trevor era song, or "Union" song, so each got to shine beautifully.

  • caught this in tampa July 5th 1991, first show backfrom overseas. awesome.

  • DAROCKA: WELCOME TO THE CLUB!!!! THE FIRST TIME I SAW YES WAS IN 1976 @ HAWTHORNE RACE TRACK IN CICERO ILLINOIS, THE LINEUP WAS GARY WRIGHT, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, PETER FRAMPTON, AND YES. THERE WAS IN ACCESS OF 100,000 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE OF THAT INCREDIBLE SHOW!!!

  • I SAW THE UNION TOUR IN SEATTLE IN MAY OF 91, THIS SHOW WAS RECORDED ON MAY 9TH, THE SHOW I SAW WAS RIGHT AROUND MY BIRTHDAY 5-15-59 SO MY GUESS IS SEATTLE WAS THEIR NEXT STOP. AND LET ME TELL YOU THIS WAS THE BEST PERFORMANCE I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!!! AND LET ME TELL YOU BROTHERS AND SISTERS I'VE SEEN A L O T OF CONCERTS!!!! LONG LIVE YEEESSSSSSS!!!!

  • @dthtoneocons1 I must agree!

  • Yet another illustration of how utterly pedestrian Tony Kaye is as a keyboardist.

  • Does anyone hear Trevor playing "Cover Up" in this performance besides me? You are so clever, Trevor. Can't wait to get my copy of DVD. I loved this tour, as I do all of the "Live" stuff. Can't wait to get a sample of T.R.'s new CD. Please - Please - Please!!!

  • @DJMADZACK Actually, what you heard on Trevor's 2003 "Live In L.A." album, from his 1989 Can't Look Away club Tour show, was indeed "Lift Me Up"..the short instrumental intro to "Cover Up" was indeed from this..Trevor was in the process of writing it and he originally intended this song, as a solo piece, but later on through an assortment of business we now know happened between Yes, ABWH, Managers, etc. & Clive Davis of Arista Records, this was recorded by Yes..with Trevor.. for "Union".

  • I was at this show in Denver...it was a very positive experience. The band seemed to be having fun...they played well. Liked Shock to the System a lot more live than I had on the album at the time. Compared to shows in the 70's I saw...well...seeing them tour for Relayer was unbelievable. So this was a good show i'd say.

  • How does this tour ranks between the old timers fans of YES? Just curious.

I'm a relatively "young" fan. Since my first show was when I was 11 during the Big Generator tour. But I was a fan since I was 5

When I finally saw the band together (After seeing the ABWH tour before that), although I had only been in other five or six other concerts, it was such a great experience.

  • I spent my teens as a bonafied Yes freak starting in the early 70's. I've had the pleasure of seeing them live a total of seven times from the Nassau Coloseum to Rosevellt Stadium in Jersey City to Expo Hall at the Florida state fairgrounds in Tampa for this 91 tour. Sitting close ,3 rows back from the revolving stage and to see every living member of yes(save Peter Banks) on the same stage was the ultimate Yes trip. Thanks for the video.

  • This song feels like a summer day when I was a kid.

  • EXCELLENT!

  • I was at the Patriot center in VA for this tour Yes exemplifies crystal clear sound that can only be described as Incredible. Having witnessed the heaviest hitters in music Yes truly is in a league with very few others. long live YES!!!

  • "My Band is SOOO good, Trevor Raven want's to play in it." Who among us could make THAT statment..?

  • I had the pleasure of seeing the reunion tour twice in the Chicagoland area!!! Wakeman, Howe, Squire along with Trevor & the whole band. AMAZING. I'm now 2 years sober I wish I was back then, but I do remember YES. I can't say I know of any good progressive bands today, I like good old classic rock & hard rock. Zep, Sabbath, Tull,Supertramp ETC......

  • @MrJeffyh nice....i saw this tour in miami....great show. What year did they do this tour? Feels like an eternity from now. Those were the days, man......when it meant something to write a song

  • Listening to this again.....the vocals are just so on, from everyone.

  • Thats amazing, purdy....only had the luxury of seein them one time (on the above tour in 91). I know old Yes, but the albums I can't live w/o are 90125 and Big Generator (as well as Talk, to a lesser degree).

PLEASE SOMEONE.....tell me of ANY progressive rock bands today. What has this world come to, where christina aguwhatever and justin B (glad I don't know their names) rule. What little inspiration is available today for REAL musicians. It's one reason I stopped playing daily, sadly..

  • @jsmed07 the closest thing to good prog rock today is Tool....heavier and darker than Yes, but an amazing group of musicians....don't forget, Rush is still going too!

  • @22reTOYOTA and a racist cunt at that....wow your one hell of a twat!

  • some are more a fan of Howe....others of Rabin...i'm more into Trevor's writing-style and overall phrasing (in solos, etc). not to mention, he's got a great voice as well.

  • @jsmed07

I'm a fan of Anderson, Bruford, Howe, Squire, Rabin, and Wakeman!!!

Saw Yes 4 times between 1978 and 2005. Best concert I have EVER seen was 90125 Tour!

  • @jsmed07

    Woops, forgot Alan White!

  • WOW, now that's the kind of entertainment we need at the Super Bowl!!!!!

  • my fave Yes song...soooooooooooooooooo Epic

  • I agree. I love JESUS & Yes does rock!!!

  • Yes rocks! I love Jesus.

  • motivating..moving...wraped in the warmth of Messaline cloth

  • This is actually my favorite song..ever. Never have I heard such a transcedent song..with such inspiring, uplifting, meaningful lyrics that hold true to my heart..always...with such majestic, sublime music orchestrated and arranged as a symphonic piece..elevated even more by Trevor's exqusite lead vocals and Jon's as well..and Trevor's violin soundscapes on guitar. What a soaring, divine gift of artistry..and I've loved & treasured it from the very first time I ever heard it..

  • great yes and great travor. he is big at yes and fantastic at filmmusic

  • This was one of the greatest concerts I have ever attended. I am a die hard Yes fan.

  • all the prog learned from them

  • Wooo hoooooo! Trevor is on fire in this and his skin tight black leather pants are hot tooooo! sssssssmokin'! :) I LOVE YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Another classic

  • Trevor is the reason!

  • @Wachenfeldt

    Trevor is only one reason!

  • OH man..These guys are the best !

  • Ouais moi aussi! :)

  • wish this line up would get back together!

  • @vidmax1234 Bravo!

  • I recall something that Bill Bruford said about his participation in playing with this lineup-he said Alan White was the meat and potatoes and he was the hollandaise sauce, lol.

  • @gh9448 Yeah, I remember too, Bill said he was the hollandaise sauce while White was the meat and potatoes, that was funny, in one of those drumming magazines quotes,.

  • I am convinced that Mr. Trevor Rabin is our generation's Mozart, any Yes after 1980 is his gift to us, and the post '80 Yes is (IMHO) phenomenal.

  • I always thought that a "reunion" like this was one of the coolest things that a band that has had a few members come and go over the years could do. Get everybody up there at once.

  • What a great performance!

  • i saw this tour, but they were in the round...awesome way to see a concert.

  • Scortching guitar solo. Cud this be a plea to understand God's plan for the individual life? Love the lyrics.

  • tevor is the best

  • trevor Rabin saved that band

  • @lucethepuce he was a very positive influence it takes all of them 2 b a band

  • @lucethepuce With those hands of ham? Pbbbbt HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

  • This is the best Yes' vocals have sounded since Peter Banks was in the band.

  • Trevor is friggin' amazing....

  • A clusterfuck of Yes, but a great song all the same

  • this brought back some great memories. I saw them when they were in phoenix and was blown away by the set they did. It lasted over 3 hours (with a break). I remember especially having a seat in the 3rd row directly in front of Howe. seen Yes several times--by far, this is the best!

  • Is that Cinema project with Anderson, Kaye and Rabin close to materialized or what?

  • I love Trevor. And his pants XD

  • @starrshiptrooper Alexandre Dumas pere wrote over 400 historical novels exposing world tyranny(Roman Catholic Empire). Alexandre Dumas pere was born near Paris in 1802 and 'coincidentally' in 1902 The Society of Gesu(Jesuits) were expelled from France for the 3rd and last time. The Society of Jesu(Jesuits) have been expelled from 83 countries and their pope is ARAMIS AND HE IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE COUNT OF MONTE CHRISTO(GENERAL OF THE JESUITS).

  • Wakeman, Howe and Rabin...Wow what more could you ask for? Truley awsome live stuff on this tour.

  • this song is probably the best performance from the union band.

  • Happy, Magical Birthday Trevor Rabin! Enjoy your very special day! Your music and artistry as a musician, composer, producer, arranger, film scorer, as a Solo Artist, with Yes, Rabbitt, Freedom's Children, and scoring some of the silver screen's most memorable films, including "Remember The Titans", is a treasure and... definitely "Something To Hold On To"!!!!

  • IMO the best song of all the Rabin years with Yes, in the studio, and this live version. The powerful, inspiring lyrics, magestic music, dazzling arrangment, the outstanding musicianship and interplay of every Yes bandmate, Jon and Trevor's gorgeous vocals, and the most pantheonic (is that a word?) guitar solos of Trevor's career gives my heart and mind joy from the first time I heard the studio version and this live version just transforms and elevates it to heaven. What an anthem of hope.

  • love that percussion config...

  • it's not really Yes is it? I can't help thinking about Bruford's comments on the fact that his kit never worked and the band didn't seem to work very well either. Still, as 80's middle of the road prog-pop it's pretty good.

  • Yes forever... forever Yes

  • YES!, they are.....

  • Wonder why they never released a cd from this tour? Not like they have been picky as regards live material that has got the official stamp of approval. I personally think this sounds great.

  • The beginning of this song has always been the best in the world for me.

  • it`s all trevor. with a pretty good band behind him

  • I loved this tour...saw them at the Los Angeles Forum...it was a sold out show and it was AMAZING. I loved seeing all 8 guys perform on the same stage. Would love to see Jon back performing with Yes. They are not the same without him.

  • best band ever

    hands down

  • This is one of the greatest moments in "YES" history. Thank you for your perpetual positive wave of LOVE. I am looking forward to the tsunami !!!

  • to see these guys together on stage. it's awesome...

  • Absolutelly unique performance...Trevor has so powerful voice that he is becoming the frontman and it's great...the best possible line-up....hope they will do one more world tour with their friends...

  • @Guldur1099 I have some news for ya...I heard Trevor will tour with Yes in 2011

  • @stevezane Whoaa!! Great..gotta see them somwhere in the central Europe, however something tells me that they would come even to the Czech rep. itself, as they do in every tour since 1993 :-))

  • @Guldur1099 You're from Czech!!! Cool..I lived there for one year touring with my Band...I was living in Praha 10.You have the most Beautiful Country in the World and the best Pivo..lol I hope they go to Prague.

  • @stevezane Yeah Praha 10, so you were very close to me...i live in Praha 3 (Zizkov - rock city!) and pivo is the best here..that's confirmed!

  • @Guldur1099 I was living on Zitomirska Street..lol I got Fat on Pivo and Salami...I miss that very much.I was working near Charls Bridge in a restaurant called Monterey Mikes(Don't know if its still there?) and gigging at night.Praha is on of the best city for underground Bands.

  • YES.

  • great music great performance great band ...ever

  • "Union" is a great show when Trebor Rabin is leading in most rock songs

    the progressive rock awake!

  • What a stunning performance by my favorite musicians.
