Yeah, what the others said, the novel came first. But still, I recommend watching the Anime before the Novel cuz the novel is about 100times better and you wouldn't enjoy the anime the other way around.
Its the original after all. And VNs are high niveau entertainment in the first place.
@crazyforanime55 nope prolly wont find any (good) VN or galge in the US unless they're really popular. Import and fan subs are the best your gonna get.
The anime was actually based on this, not the other way round

The visual novel you are playing/reading is the original story. The anime is based on it and finally the manga was created.
It does not contain any nudity but more gore then the anime. You will understand when you use the delusional triggers.
