@MrVictom I wonder what was on Gods mind that he took the time to create allllllll of this HUGE BEAUTIFUL shit in space...to come to one little planet and make a huge fuck up that is the human race.
say they do find a way to make a ''worm hole'' or some type of ripple that distorts time and space to travel vast distances within short amounts of time. from earth we go to the andromeda galaxy about 2 million light years away which means we see it and 2 million years ago. do you think we would end up there 2 million years ago or living at this current time but looking at our own milky way 2 million years ago?
the all pwerful country should help each other to make a extremly great hubble telescope than can see somehow some surface of heavenly body in universe.. like china, japan, russia, germany, usa, middle east, etc. why
I have read somewhere or seen at a documentary, I don't remember, that all these space images are not in color. Actually they are more back and white ones, but they add some filters to colorise them in order to look alike the way they should be. By the other side we can say, Earth is blue, Mars is red, they are stars which are red giants, or blue giants or so. Well does anyone know about this subject? The colors in space images.
They are composite pictures. Our eyes only see a narrow band of the electromagnetic spectrum. (visible light) The images we see from advanced space instruments are combined versions of infrared, gamma, ultraviolet and X-ray wavelengths.
The pictures are combined and colorized so we can interpret them visually. Typically, red=hot, cold = blue; But not always!
Spectroscopy analyzes data much more accurately than we can with our eyes, but seeing images this way helps us understand intuitively.
Some of the images ARE visible wavelengths only. Many of the most revealing and fantastic images are composites of other wavelength data that has been filtered or colorized so that we can see them with our eyes.
An interesting side note that Carl Sagan pointed out in his masterpiece 'The Pale Blue Dot.' is that when we look at the closest galaxy i.e M31 it's 2 million light years away, so we are seeing it as it was when the light from it set out on its long journey to earth-2 million years ago. Same goes with distant quasars.
The other way is called "mapped colour": you use filters that let only the light emitted by hydrogen, sulfur or oxygen atoms pass and attribute them a color on your computer. Your image wont be in true colours but will show the chemical composition of whatever your picture shows.
there are two ways of colouring black and white images: the regular one: you take a picture whith a red filter: only the red light passes. Then, you do the same whith a green and a blue filter. By superposing these images on a computer, you get an image showing true colours.
can someone answer me when i ask: Am I the only one who is very interested in space, but doesnt want to deal with all these bull-shit arguements? Focus less on why we were put here or why we are here, or how all this happened, and just take a moment to realize just how little we are, and how little we know about our universe.
I totally agree with you. When I think that it would take half a year travelling at 3991907 times speed of light just tu reach Andromeda galaxy, I'm amazed. And also the fact that there is still some stars that we can't see just because the light hasn't reached us because they are too far!!!
arguments are one of the only ways to see different ideas and come to a joint conclusion. (but i'm not saying that they shouldn't be a little more civilized)
@dante3440 Thats why we argue, in order to get the theory correct, scientists argue all the time, it's completely normal. So don't be a cry baby. if it wasn't for arguing we wouldn't have as much technology as we have today. War is also important for technology ;)
But what i'm going to say is technology has NOTHING to do with arguing. People (not just scientists) have been inventing new technology since the dawn of time. Another thing, did he state he was crying anywhere in his comment?
@omgWTFUWANT really know, thats a very ignorant thing of you to say. To me argueing is debating. Also in history some arguements turned to war. War provides technology. because if it wasn't for war. we would have no need to increase much technology at the rate we do today. Mabye you should stay off youtube. ;)

@dante3440 so what you are saying is, we needn't worry ourselves as to our origins...but insted focus on how insigificant we really are in the scope of the universe ? so basically we should just crawl under our rocks ? I think one the best ways to understand what has happened, is happeneing, and what will happen is to ponder and sicover our origins. The fact that you said YOU are the only one interested in space is rather offensive.
@MrSYSTEM20 I think that the most appropriate question for science is *how* we got here. The why question is better suited to philosophy, where they think they can derive meaningful answer based on essentially zero evidence. Cosmology is forensic in nature. We gather more and more evidence, and keep saying "OK. So if this true, then what must have happened before that to make it so?". Before asking "why", we should first ask if it is reasonable to expect that there *is* a "why" to our existence.
@dante3440 People fight over these stupid arguments and do not realize: " We don't know because we are not supposed to know, and we will never know. "

Even the more chaotic parts (quantum physics) play a very specific part. And I see God as the one who created, set the rules for, and started the RB machine that we call the universe.
And the beautiful part is, each and every possibility is played out. Only that we experience one chain of universes, which -in our perspective- is guided by the hand of God.
What your brain is actually doing is attempting to piece in the missing items due to your fear of the unknown. Whether or not it's a beautiful thought or explanatory idea remains unimportant.
Beliefs are one thing. (Zeus threw down a lightning bolt and thus, created the Law of Gravity)
Rational beliefs are another. (The law of gravity exists.)

From energy, as it spontaneously creates quarks and anti-quarks.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can only change form (e.g. chemical energy to thermal energy, sound energy)
