@HedgehogAirsoft Both have good's and bad's. i personally like the 12 valve's. If you get the p-pumped year's 94-98.5 you can get around 100 free hp. and there really durable except for the one's with the 53 block number.

@HedgehogAirsoft 12 valve has 2 valves per cylinder, 12 valve is from 89 to 98.5. 24 valve is from 98.5-2007.5. 24 valve has 4 valves per cylinder. 24 valve has more power but doesnt get that good of fuel milage as 12 valve. 12 valve is known for great fuel milage and reliability. i personally like the 12 valve better. and 12 valve has mechanical fuel pump, 24 has electric fuel pump.

I average 20 MPG driving it daily, even with 9 inches of lift and 35" mudders. Not many diesel trucks around that only weigh 5100 lbs..

Def not bullshit. x2 what xx69roadrunnerxx said. Cummins engines put in Dodge's are small compared to Cummins diesels installed in farm equipment, large machinery, etc.

A common rule for diesels is that they generate about twice as much torque than horsepower. My F-550 dynoed at 442 HP/860 ft-lbs, and mine is just my daily driver, moderately modded.

Yes, I drive a Super Duty, but I have mad respect for Cummins engines. Defffinitely capable of these numbers, when built up. :)

Ahh, not at all bullshit. The 5.9L Cummins diesel is a monster and 1000lb-ft is very easy to achieve with good upgrades. Horespower probably checks in at 400-500hp range.

Remember, Diesels are torque monsters. They have one job-make TONS of torque. Period. Which they do.

Im guessing you dont know much about diesels, but thats cool. Every bodys gotta learn. Check out Diesel Power Mag for more info. The 5.9L Cummins is capable of 2000hp and 2000+ lb-ft of torque in sled pulling apps.
