Bush was on a state visit, and should not have been insulted that way, but it's not the same as a message to Congress which carries the weight and dignity of the Office with it. Great response! Money (donations from from their masters, that is) sure has helped republicans stonewall any sort of meaningful legislation though. Once you have that sort of cash flowing in, boy, it's hard to cut those strings. And most republicans seem to be quite happy to let others pull their strings - to all of our great detriment , unfortunately...

If I were Obama I would withdraw my insurance reform proposal. Let Medicare and Social Security run out of money.
