  • Because they like to hire men? Is that why companies hire so many illegal immigrants?

The fact is that businesses can and do pay illegals less and they hire them by the millions.

Wage gap is a myth. But more than that it is an expression of bigotry towards men.

Feminists once again scapegoating all males as the wellspring of female unhappiness.

It is hatred and it's time people start seeing it for what it is.

  • take that femmies. ha

  • I want to praise the uploader for exposing this amazing video on youtube to the masses. Also, I want to acknowledge Stossel for his articulate incursion upon the sham that is feminism.

  • I'm not crazy. I was always suspicious about the wage gap. I aways thought "Is it really there because I've looked for jobs, and there are a lot of higher paying jobs I won't do."

  • noisy protest...that's a soft way to say the

fem nazi's scream high level hatred.

one time I had a fem nazi go ballistic on me at college.

its just anger and rage ...like hating a Japanese neighbor...

be forgiving because these human ways take huge amounts of meditation to control

if they didn't, emotions would be easy and everybody would be fit, trim and healthy.

men strengthen your emotions...empower your physic immune system.

    right after ww2...

  • @888Kharami Sometimes it's easy to forget what you said in the latter part of your comment..."be forgiving...if they didn't, emotions would be easy and everybody..."

    Thanks for your insight!

  • thank you!!

and thank you helping me remember what I said...I too can use help remembering the value of forgiviness

  • Wow, the CORPORATION world is ruled by one thing only.. "What's your Stock Value TODAY".... Any cost cutting measure is acceptable, afterall, everybody wants to get that BONUS for making the COMPANY more MONEY... it's in our (men and women) self interest.

So, why even hire men... great argument

  • This is SHOCKING...SHOCKING!!! I mean...Tony Danza has a show?

    SHOCKING!!!

  • Scary...

  • @kev3d LOL

  • This guy is the Ron Paul of Media reporting.

    Absolutely love him.

  • im in the service industry (bartending, serving). I get paid the same as the women i work with but have to do the dirty jobs because the women supposedly cant. When i was in the military is was just as bad and with affirmative action the way it is those same females were promoted ahead of their male counterparts. I didnt think these things happened until the 1SG told me there were several promotion waivers available but 2 had to go to females. Forced equality is an oxymoron.

  • I recently participated in a psychology study about this issue.

Participants were asked to assign a salary to a company employee. They were given a profile of the employee on which to make their judgement.

Across the conditions, participants were given either a male or a female worker of the same age (various other factors were also systematically varied).

Participants gave females lower wages than males to a greater extent than chance would likely allow.

    Why might that be?

  • Its called RATIONAL ignorance. Economist Tim Hartford explains this very well in his book "The Logic of Life". Basically, the resources it would take to accurately determine productivity is greater than the potential loss due to not hiring an equally qualified person. Why pay a woman the same when generally speaking, she will want to have children on a few years and therefore be a liability to our firm? Most workers and employers have seen this happen time and again.

  • Meh, a useful point, but it's still sexism. It reflects unequal opportunity.

Equality of opportunity is really what these people (e.g., Stossel) should be arguing about. They should be asking "how do we best establish equality of opportunity?" rather than asking what amounts to "who's winning the battle of the sexes?".

  • The opportunity for employment is the same. I have yet to hear of a specific firm that pays women less to start than men. You cited a study not a firm, and although it might be indicative of the sample groups prejudice, it doesn't represent reality. Thomas Sowell has found that women who exhibit the same work characteristics as men; among other things they don't take time off for pregnancy, work the same hours, and are willing to commute, will earn more than the males in the same firm.

  • That's promising, but my point stands regardless.

Speaking generally, I prefer not to argue about facts - i.e., the nature of sexist behaviours or policies. On a multi-dimensional issue like this, opponents are unlikely to agree.

So instead I argue about processes. And I argue that Stossel's approach mainly serves to confuse the issue. Fighting misconceptions is one thing, but his way of doing it doesn't seem like it will yield best outcomes on this (or any other) issue.

  • Another reason why some woman actually do make less for the same job is their lack of negotiation. In one study that looked at wage differences it found that the vast majority of men challenged the initial offer for their job, and were able to get a better wage due to it. Woman were far more likely to accept whichever offer the employer gave them. In these cases the disparity in earnings was due not to sexism but to the womens own behavior.

  • True, Stossel's methods won't yield any results with the exception of possibly introducing people with a different way of looking at this specific issue. Besides, its not his job to have the answers; its his job to have ratings. Its been enjoyable. You can have the last word.

  • I'm a girl and still agree with you, I think it shouldn't just be women though, but the obese as well as their unhealthy life style puts them at a higher risk for heart attacks and will cost the company more money. but, if in a few years a woman doesn't take time off for children her wage should be equalized and she should be compensated for her earlier low wage.

  • At my work some females make as much as me in the same position that don't do the same work. I always do the heavy lifting and more physical work because the girls can't. So what's fair now getting paid the same as me for doing less work?

  • The man speaks the truth, ALWAYS. Logic, logic, logic, truth, truth, truth.

  • right on! truth hurts but it's a process we have to go through.

  • Thank you for the video!

  • women can make the same money for the same job, its all about supply and demand
