  • First time I've ever seen Pete using a Tele. Rock music has PT as one of the cogs in the wheel

  • Pete is the kick of all rock. He's written a really hard hitting lyric here in 1982 which is still relevant today. No one is writing lyrics these days which carry any resonance beyond the day they are written.

When Pete passes away the game's up. Its over.

  • The ability for a musician to perform their material in a different genre style is what epitomizes true talent. Another example - watch Eric Clapton Unplugged. Truly amazing. I think these guys could play with popsicle sticks and tin foil and it would still sound astonishing. True musicians playing REAL instruments. No sampling, lip-sync, or midi effects - lets see the so-called pop stars of today do this. Thanks for posting.

  • This is awesome!! What a great version, always loved this song.

  • KUDOS TO EVERYONE ON STAGE!!! DOUBLE KUDOS TO SIMON PHILLIPS-

DRUMS &,PINO PALLADINO-bass &,OF COARSE PETE TOWNSHEND...A REALLY GREAT,LIVE RECORDING!!!(A Little Sweetening In The Studio???)

  • It's awesome that Pino was on the bass! But I wonder where John Entwistle was this time round....

  • mah gawd ... what a voice

  • Wow, really great. Thanks.

  • DAMM THIS IS A JAM!!!

  • Where's the bass riffs?

  • @432ps1 Original song has very simple bass riffs. This is just solo form John.

  • @432ps1 Not form him. Lol I'm used to see John on stage...

  • Katie Kissoon is one of my all time fav background vocalists ... you know you're tops when you record with the greats like Clapton, Townshend, Pink Floyd and the Stones ....

  • What year is this?

  • @wenaldy

1993. All the details are (and have always been) in the discription.

  • @wenaldy **LIVE IN N.YORK,1993.

  • yum

  • The one and only Pete!

  • Pete knows how to stay young...that is why he keeps those nice looking back-up singers around.

  • 4:48 Pete drops an f-bomb

  • simon phillips and pino palladino, it does not get any better.

  • @3415sean

That's pretty much what I told Simon when I met him last year :)

  • damn pete townshend looks in good shape!

  • Ahhh, we're cookin' now.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • lol, the chorus say too 'Its a put on' I think this makes it horrible

  • @RogellParadox

    What? Learn to english.

  • I think this iss the best song after keith's dead c:

  • damn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • reminds me of not now john by pink floyd in some parts great sonng though

  • GOOD!!

  • oops. Meant to say the bridge at 3:22

  • not the best day for Pete. Voice is sore. Not enough distortion on his solos.Jumped into the chorus early.Another day at the office.

  • No one can ever equal Entwistle in this band, but Pino's a great player who's one of the few who can do the job without being an embarassment.

  • totally agree with you!Needless to say thought that Paladino isn't the best Bass player for the who...

  • @JoeGuitarCenter True, but seen the grove this song has I think a fretless sound fits well. It's ok with this song, but having that bass in a song like My Generation is just lame.

  • great song!

  • I love this

    and you sun!

  • I love this

  • the weird thing is that you cannot hear the english accent when he sings

  • Pete is a bad ass man he kicks ass man :D

  • awesome tune and cheers to pete yaaaaaaaaaa

  • Das beste cover song von Michael Hedges!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 5:54 (to the people in the balcony) "Don't fall off!"

Pete sounds like he's seen that before. :)

  • Pete. You. Rock.

  • less is more baby

  • wrong tone pete...

  • Pete is one fo the best!!!

  • Looks like Pete is wearing a Rosary...

  • Just a fucking put on!

  • thumbs up if you miss keith moon RIP

  • @HollYwoodLinesman I guess no one misses Moonie.

    Shame, really.

    =(

  • My favorite Who song..."just a put-on. Come and join the party..dressed to kill"

  • Pino on the bass sounds brilliant!

  • I wish" Marcus Aurelius " could hear this song.

  • The Master at play....loving it so much!

  • master of masters

  • horrible gtr sound for this number, not there best version not even close

  • Killer ........................and great drummer

  • Thanks for sharing this.

  • This is the best drummer for the WHO. No disrespect to Zak but this guy has great chops and the closest to Keith. Quirky and odd fills.

  • @gaspo218 Definitely. That's Simon Phillips who Pete has been working with since his first solo album.

  • @gaspo218 I disagree. Simon's work on the band's '89 tour was totally wrong for the band. Kenney and Zak were both better suited for the band than Simon. Not that Simon is a bad drummer, just unsuitable.

  • @gaspo218 Totally agree.

Zakk Starkey makes a drum kit sound like a tuneless set of saucepans.

Everyone of his drum hits sounds like a tuneless clunk

  • Is It REALLY is an M & M Front? Yippppeeeeee!

  • Way. Way. Way, TOO COOL!!!!!!!

  • frickin awesome

  • Pete's grooving! Love it! Thanks for sharing this!!

  • @KyleMyLeg You got that right boss! Pete is in a groove, and why not? This song kicks ass from start to finish.
