  • Your final point is the most likely, we would reinvent science in another name. Everyone seems to born a scientist, but many chose to follow other paths. I suspect the cause is largely cultural, a mixture of geographical things like religion and economically seductive and pragmatic vocation alternatives such as engineering.

  • Actually, science fading away is probably a good thing. I'm going to have to agree with the Unabomber. Sure, technology and health advancements seem great; but eventually we will argue about whether or not we should grant individuals elongated life and access to information. What we think is progress is self-destruction. That's cool with me, though. I'm just enjoying the ride.
