Another of the shows of my childhood where only the theme song is remembered.I don't even remember what the show was about. They knew how to write a good tune.
@FijneWIET, I never heard the main title from the first season, but according to Jon Burlingame in his book "Television's Greatest Hits", it was a "drum dominated but otherwise conventional theme". Henry Vars had previously scored "Daktari"'s producer Ivan Tors "Flipper" series.
I didn't love this show when I was a kid. But what choices did we have in the 1960s on a Sunday? When my family moved to the west coast in 1969, cable television was in its infancy - and I guess Daktari was still on but I never saw it again. Didn't miss it.
esta serie la veiamos en mi pais venezuela desde 1979,cuando fuimos a mexico en 1981,encendemos el tv en el hotel y estan pasando dacktary...yo tenia 9 años,que buena serie, lastima que ya no la pasan mas...
I USE TO LOVE THIS SHOW AS A KID!!!! But since my EDUCATION I SEE SOMETHING WRONG!!!!...An ASIATIC ELEPHANT in an AFRICAN SETTING!!!! HA HA HA!!!! But I know why!!! It is HARDER to train African elephants to perform!!!!
Clarence el leon visco. jajaja nunca me lo perdia cuando era chica. y mas porque a mi me encantan los animales. Aca en Argentina me acuerdo lo pasaban los sabados al mediodia. Aguante Daktari. Gracias por haberlo puesto.
Any chance upload Daktari BBC1 21st July 1972 Full Series 4.55 to 5.40 please cheers.
