@marckarlock Glad to make them available. Hopefully she'll tour again. The last time she did was before YouTube was rolling and she has acquired a lot of fans. The lyrics are not that difficult to do and make the video available for listeners in dozens of languages as well.
3:22 to 4:04 is a secret magical realm. wherein you will smile laugh dance or cry. or simply stare in amazement. since mere adjectives will not be able to properly describe what you feel. (just remember to breathe). though whatever you do it will be done with a feeling of true love. for some of you it may be the first time you have ever this way. it's o.k. everything is just fine. how about another listen?
@TheAgentOfTruth Vickie here (not k8fan, who's my husband). Even a year later, this is one of my all-time favorite Comments. I love reading all the comments on Happy's music, but this just gives me chills. Thank you.
I am just so thankful to see this somewhat live... I love her, always have. Although this version is definitely back to her early 90s days, it is as beautiful in this version as it is on her album.... *shivers*
What can you say. I had a video of Stephen Stills playing in my house until I accidentally broke the TiVo/DVR and it was professionally shot. This isn't a video; it's a documentary.
I always love reading nice comments about Happy, and this is one of my favorites. :) What the F&%K !!! indeed! Off the scale indeed! Love it! Is this the first time you've heard Happy? How did you come to view this?
I saw a Happy Rhodes concert thing on TV many moons ago (late '90s) and thought it was great. I bought her Worlds CD and loved it but I lost the darn thing and time zipped by. She popped into my head the other day and I thought, Hey UTube, and low and behold here she's doing a house concert!!! What a mind numbing talent.
Ah, that was the Prism thing you saw, where she played the Middle East club. I might be able to get some cuts from that up on YouTube at some point. Btw, that was me (Vickie) who posted about loving nice comments. I was accidentally still logged in to k8fan's account (he's my husband).
Have you seen her website? Is it really Auntie Social etc.? Boy, it's as bad as she's good. And I thought I did crappy websites. Not that that really matters; it actually kind of fits her. I really liked that Prism concert, if that's what it was, and it would be great to get a hold of it.
For me, yes, it was the first time I even heard of her. I was listening to Natalie Merchant's Space Oddity, then saw Happy's version in "Related Videos". One thing led to another, and I came upon "Ra is a Busy God". Must have played it 10 times in a row...I *really* like the idea of the house concert series. If it is reinstated and you need a venue in Napa, CA, let me know!!
As far as I know, she's not stopped making music, she's just on a sort of hiatus. Bob and Happy built a studio as part of their home, but they have been involved in the renovation as well as running Bob's studio sound equipment company.
I believe she was disappointed by the response to the House Concert Tour, but I've told her that the tools available now (MySpace, YouTube) could produce much larger audiences if she toured again.
I think it was an accident. I didn't do it, but I've done it before elsewhere, and it's a horrible feeling, you meant to reply and accidentally hit spam.
Being obsessed with Happy is a good thing (well, that's what I tell myself :), she needs fans who will spread the word. And hey, she may make more music. She's gotta do *something* with the home studio she's building. And anyway, she has 11 amazing albums, timeless albums, that will be just as good 100 years from now. Never forget her, world.
I love this song so much. Awhile back I found this during a very difficult crisis in my life and it really helped bring me through some serious "Letting Go". Thank you for this song Happy!

I wasn't spamming, haha. I've just become obsessed with Happy Rhodes, a little too late, since she stopped making music. =(
