@tumatan44 I very much agree with you that Steve Hackett had a huge influence on the band's sound, only noticed when he left. If not, why were T of the Tail & W & Wuthering such great LP's! Never quite realized it must have been the main reason! In fact so great were his 'riffs' that Daryl Stuermer does not stray from Hacket’s basic melody in many songs, only doing ‘his own thing’ in parts that allow it! Sad about Phil & wish I had seen them all back in 2007 -the last dance for Genesis really..
Thanks for posting! So rarely seen live. I challenge the Gabriel hard core who says Genesis were never the same without him. Trick of the tail & W & W were awesome. The bands sound changed for sure -but things don’t stay the same. Have been with them since Selling England ..' I agree 80's onwards they lapse into catchy commercial stuff but still way better than most others. 'And then there were three ' had some great tracks including this one! A little melancholic maybe losing their humour
@soundspur When Peter left a big part of Genesis was gone, but in my opinion when Steve left things really changed. Its really a tribute to phil, tony and mike that they went on to the greatest commercial success the band had. I cant think of another band losing a front man and lead guitar and selling out stadiums and tripling thier record sales. To bad Phil can no longer play drums......all things must pass.
Finally they're inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. FUSE Channel on March 15th 2010 LIVE from the Waldorf Astoria in NYC- DON'T MISS IT -- GENESIS LIVES FOREVER !!
Nice to hear the live version of this song. Too bad that the video portion of this is from a DIFFERENT SONG!!! Watch it again...closely. You'll see what I mean. Nonetheless, a cool little blast from the past!!
Yeah!! The ...And Then Were Three rocker. Like those whole album. Better in the newly remixed stereo form. Like this one, all before, and after it. Except We Can't Dance. Bland pop crap
I was there that night being based in what was west Germany. One of the most magical night of my life at that time. thankyou for this
