  • Your dog is super cute! Great vidoes too! :)

  • I have veen tryin this for about a week my dog is getting it but how long did it take you before you got the end results

  • THANK you for sharing!

  • You are a gorgeous trainer! Thanks for all videos :)

  • bless you, you are very kind. thank you for taking the time to watch and comment :-)

  • what is the verbal command you use with this trick?

  • I use the cue 'scoot' I run out of cues that sound different and have some meaning with the trick! haha! I have taken to using a thesaurus to come up with new words!

  • Great idea! I was wondering how the heck you come up with so many commands! Love the vids.. keep 'em commin!!

  • wow these are all great tips for people who want to train their dogs :)

Me and my sister began training our 12 year old dog for about 3 months and he has learned several things...

we've discovered your videos today and we'll try to teach him some of these tricks.

  • that's great news :-) I believe that older dogs can learn just as quick as younger ones :-) do let me know how you get on and do ask me any questions.

  • in 3 months he learned how to: sit, lay down, up, play dead, roll over, crawl, jump, turn to both sides, close the door, touch a target, talk, leave it (the food), come when called, stay and give paws.

Now we're teaching him to limp, crawl backwards, sit pretty and to turn the lights on and off... :) - as you see he knows many things, but now we we are running out of ideas for him to learn...

  • oh wow, it sounds like you are doing an amazing job with training!! youtube is a great place to get ideas for training, that's where I get most of my ideas from :-)

  • Wow that is awesome, sounds like your dog knows a lot especially in such a short time, there are some great videos on some other awesome tricks if you're looking for more, a few are called smart dogs can weigh themselves, smart dogs can clean up their own toys (or something like that), smart dogs can trim their own nails which I used to teach my dog to wip off his feet, ect...many from the same trainer. Good luck with training, sounds like you're doing awesome!

  • Thank you :)

we're going to see that channel, so we can have more ideas (to train our dog) :D

  • the channel the videos for ideas mentioned are on is pamelamarxsen, and I told you wrong on some of them, "smart dog can weigh himself"* singular dog and himself. Good luck!! :-)

  • pamelamarxsen is an awesome channel! I love Pam's videos :-)

  • Thanks for a great video, I'll try to teach my standard poodle this :)

  • great!! let me know how it goes!

  • Who knew crawling backwards could be so much fun!! All those yummy treats!!! Very cute! :)

  • hehe, it does help when our mum has a big bag of treats :-)

  • I watched this video and just started teaching my dog to crawl backwards, he's already catching on! awesome video, it was really helpful.

  • Oh that's so great! it's not too hard once you get the first little movement backwards but I found I had to be pretty patient in the beginning! thanks so much for your nice comment and if you ever have any questions then do get in contact :-)

    Happy training!

  • Your blue Merle looks very much like mine - I only hope that I can train mine to do some of the things yours does. I started very late - he is nearly 20 months old - and I am only now thinking of doing tricks - guess I am late - but you inspire me

  • Oh I'm so glad you like my videos :-) 20 months is still young, I didn't start training Holly until she was over a year old so it's not too late :-)

  • This one is one that Enya never done before .

    THnx for the tip !

  • This is awesome training...you are really good with your dogs!!

  • Mabel got soo big!

  • hehe, I know!! thanks so much for taking the time to comment :-)

  • Thanks for the tips!! You are a great 'dog' person, gentle, kind and you really get in tune with your dogs! Good work! =)

  • thank you so much, it means the world to me to get lovely comments like that :-)

  • Thanks for posting this video, it's great to see the starts and ideas for beginning. I have taught baby Jett (13wks) to crawl so now we teach backwards!

  • aww, that's so cool that you have taught crawl already! you are going great guns! I'm so glad you found my video helpful! do let me know how it goes :-)

  • Another amazing job Sian!

It's very wonderful to see Holly to learn each step towards the target behavior! 5 starts for you guys!

  • Thank you so much, you are always so lovely about my videos and it really does mean a lot to me :-)

  • definitively, I love too much Sian!!! I think I will steal her!!! ha ha ha

    ok great video!!!I love it!!!

I still hoping your photos, thanks so much, whenever you can, you send me some photos!!!

    cheers,

  • Thank you so much :-) you're a lovely friend to have! Oh I have lost the lead for my camera!! I have taken some photos ready to send to you but I can't get them off my camera until I find the lead :-( I will send them as soon as I find it though!!

  • Like the way you join in/demonstrate to teach your dog. You deserve a big click for your backwards crawl!

  • great video and fantastic results.... :)

    5* for you

  • thank you, you are a great friend :-)

  • Totally COOL! I love it! What smart dogs & trainer! :) You know I will have to try this now. :) I have been working on freestyle and have been busy with backward circles. I LOVE your ideas! VERY AWESOME!

  • Thank you so so much, you are always so very kind. You, Isabelle and Bandit aren't half a bad team your selves you know :-) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Well done Sian - have only just gone back to crawl with Milo after a break - haven't attempted backwards yet!

  • thanks! I hope you and Milo are doing well?

  • I like the result...but I presonally don´t like bending over my dog to get that beahvour...It is no the case, but some dogs could feel it intimidating...

  • I like your way anyways.....good job

  • aww, thanks, you make a very good point though. I do show other ways to get the behaviour but you are quite right to say that a completely hands off approach is the way to go :-) thank you very much for your feedback, I'll think about what you have said for future videos :-) hugs :-)

  • You are great taking comments....That is positive thinking....that is the positive way...Muchos besos

  • I've taught Chilly to crawl forwards, but I never thought about going backwards! I'll have to give this one a try!

  • great! let me know how you get on with it :-)

  • Sian - love this!!! Great vid. I love your teaching style. Very easy to follow with multiple options. Rounder pulled a groin muscle (we've attributed it to crawling) so we won't be able to give this one a try. Otherwise, we surely would have. Very creative! 5* and a favorite.

  • thank you so much Marge, you are an inspiration to me and so many other youtubers and your kind words mean so very much. You're a fantastic trainer and a great friend :-) I hope Rounder makes a speedy recovery.

  • Oh my goodness Sian, I never knew about this trick! ha ha I have to do this with Samson, its not a trick that you see everyday! Thank you so much for the Tutorial!! Your such a great trainer!!

    xxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Very good job!

  • Another GEM!!

I have taught Dude to crawl forwards now thanks to you and will definitely teach him the reverse movement too! Way Cool!!

PS have you seen my puppy crossing paws yet. I am so happy as this was such a difficult thing for him to do without toppling over! :D Love Yvonne

  • I just went and checked out your video of Dude crossing his paws and I loved it!! Thank you so much for your lovely comment :-) xxxx

  • Another great video, Sian. You are truly an inspiration to me. :)) I can't wait to train Indi to crawl. :DD Both Holly and Mabel are amazing.

  • Thank you so much!! How is your Indi doing? xxxx

  • She's doing just great! Right now we are working on beg. :))

  • Oh, great stuff. I'm so pleased you're getting on so well :-) love to you and Indi.xxx

  • Wonderful tutorial! I'll have to try this with Winnie :)

    P.S. Mabel's growing so fast!

  • Bravooo!!!!! ;=)

  • Another 5 star training video. fantastic please keep them coming.

  • Thank you so much :-) hope you and your lovely dogs are all well.

  • Another 5***** tutorial:)! Mabel is getting so big and her coat looks wonderful! Holly did a wonderful backwards crawl too. Do they know how to moonwalk? I want to teach that to Kaine, but I want him to be in a bow position, going backwards.

    Happy Clicking!

    Ashley & Kaine

  • My guess would be that if you follow the exact same steps in this video you will get a moonwalk just by clicking in different places as I never clicked when they went into the bow, but that seemed to be something they were both offering all the time in the beginning. :-) good luck and keep me posted on how it goes!

  • Sian, this is wonderful, I've never thought of training Sparky to do a backwards crawl... We'll have to try it!

Mabel is definitely catching on, you're doing a great job with her! And I can't believe how good Holly is, she's amazing!

Thanks for posting this video. :)

    xxx

  • Thank you so much Lizzy :-) Sparky would look sooo cute doing this trick! Mabel is pretty good now, I keep meaning to post a video of the tricks she has completed because she knows a few now but I haven't got round to it yet. xxx

  • Very useful! For Solea I used a table (that she already knew to crawl under towards me) and got her to back out from under it! Love the idea of training this against a long wall though - That really helps :-)

  • Oh I'm so glad you found this a help :-) thank you so much for your nice comment and taking the time to watch!

  • Brilliant, Sian! I love this trick - doesn't look easy, but we'll give it a try!

  • hehe, it's easy once you get the first little hop backwards, then it's plain sailing. Let me know if you do try this how you get on.

  • LOl he looks hilarious doing it! What a great vid nice tutorial

  • Thank you so much :-)
