  • haven't seen this; looks bleak...

  • culpably and voluntarily is not distributed in Italy.

  • Up the Ra.

  • That is fair eniugh, I should hope we all see it for what it was,

  • I'm going to have to go out and get this movie now, because the quality of this trailer got me pissed.

  • people who like the piano soundtrack in this trailer go on my channel, ive uploaded a version of the theme ive created using audacity software.

  • I myself was in The maze when the IRA burnt it down, No one ever mentions that the Loyalist prisioners had to endure the hardships which they did and without complaint, and through no fault of thiers. All the IRA succeded in doing was paving the way for Gang-War and a screwed up generation because of their inability to except the rights; of the People living in Ulster Provence. I think it is a waist of good film and should have been blanketed ..for being one sided.. and flogging a dead horse

  • @TheBrandAXE Loyalist prisoners didn't have an easy time either, I'll admit. But, this movie was not made to be one sided or even sectarian, 'cos even the director was British.

This movie was created to highlight internment and it's consequences.

  • @TheBrandAXE Look at it this way, the Loyalist scum should have been treated with far less respect than the Irish Republican Army fighters. 93% of Loyalist Paramilitary targets were civilians, compared to the less than 31% IRA-killed-individuals being civilians. If Loyalists were jailed, they'd suck British dick because those in charge were also loyal to the Queen. But that's your opinion & I'm not able to change it...

  • I think the hunger protest was kinda sad. It made him a hero, and people definitely remembered him and respected his death and purpose. But he didn't change nothing. He just demonstrated the serious dedication to his beliefs. Which is very beautiful.I think we can learn something from him, better to die trying than die doing just conforming and not trying.

I do say his cause is slightly not worth it though. I mean, i don't agree with republicans or catholics.

  • @skulldrix Obviously you don't have a clue what your talking about. For years the Republican prisoners protested without making any progress to get their demands matched and when bobby sands led this hunger strike and died for it everything changed after 9 more men died. Sad yes but these men are true martyrs.

  • he got to had a voracious appetite after all that he been through

  • Bobby Sands committed suicide.

  • @tdcpm27 r u mentally challenged?

  • @TaMeGoHiontach No, he committed suicide. It's the truth.

  • @tdcpm27 committing suicide is putting a gun to your head and pulling the trigger, hanging yourself, swallowing loads of sleeping pills, cutting ur wrists vertically or something like that. Bobby sands did not commit suicide he protested by hungerstrike for a cause he believed in so strongly that he was WILLING (not eager) to die for it. If you die like Bobby Sands did you deserve every bit of respect, if you commit suicide u dont.

  • @TaMeGoHiontach Hmm, had he not been protesting, and just chosen not to eat, what would you classify that as then?

  • @tdcpm27 What do u mean? if had just chosen not to eat for any reason? dont think anyone has ever done that before

  • @tdcpm27 so ghandi attempted suicide.yeah, booby sands and ghandi did the exact same stuff. protested against the same people, you are obviosly someone completly controlled by brit propaganda. enducate urself. even if he had eaten he might have died. the british fed them shit and very little of it

  • God bless Margaret Thatcher!

  • @GrandmaMargaret1 troll.

  • Steve Mcqueen II would be able to become a genius filmmaker !

  • Moving film on the political and idealogical sacrifice that the men of the maze made.

  • god bless bobby but dnt frget is soilders either!!...........

  • why would anybody like this? he got what he deserved in the end, the terrorist scum

  • @NornIron1991 Bobby Sands and the rest of he MEN who stood by their word were NOT terrorists they were Freedom Fighters doing what they believed to be right .

  • @logan1776 they wanted a united Ireland right, so they shot and blew up civilians. that makes them terrorists in my book. one mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist, just depends if u support violence or not

  • @NornIron1991 oh but the death squads in belfast are what might i ask, the random shooting in the streets are what? just becuase a goverment does them doesnt make it not terrorism. and what the irish did to the english the english had been doing for 800 years, research what happened during the famine, or the war of freedom. or anything up till today. the english are scum erin go bragh

  • you could have used what thatcher just said against what the british do and support every year, criminal murder, criminal bombing and criminal violence, only they paint it as political murder, politcal bombing and political violence.

  • FUCK SPAMS

  • find it funny that an English Director made this film, usually both ethnicities stick to the atrocities of the other side when they direct a film about the IRA, none the less a brave film.

  • JUSTIC FOR PAT FINUCANE

    FREE THE TRUTH

  • test yourself and fast for a week

  • Rest In Peace Bobby Sands you'll always be remembered for the legend you are :) This film would really show you how Irish people were treated. its a disgrace and should of never happened. Rip to all those who died fighting for Ireland and all those people who died through hunger strike xxxx

  • A piece of Art. Great performance by Michael Fassbender.

  • Michael Fassbender sent me here! D: That sexy man. :D

  • The directors name is Steve McQueen? Are you kidding me?

  • erin go bragh!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fuck Maggie

  • The younger version of bobby Sands in the film is my brother

  • Incredible movie, Michael Fassbender is an amazing actor. It's very hard to watch, emotionally jarring (and particularly difficult as a Brit who's been raised hating the IRA) but absolutely worth it for the education.

  • I thought I was gonna see a fan-made trailer for Micheal Grants 'Hunger'

  • Me randomly typing in Hunger sent me here.

  • One of Michael Fassbender's teeth sent me here.

  • @boomertastic ups it dit it again - my mouse.

or was it my car - or my girlfriend - no it was my teacher.

the world need urgend some real men

  • the great film "Hunger" sent me here not some fucking super hero movie.

  • @boomertastic how?

  • FUCK THE ENGLISHHH DICKSSS they have sick heads ahah it makes me laught that people now go on like i never happend like there never did it becuse they no them self its wrongggggg and you no what am prod to say am fuckng irish and Derry is the place to beeeeee the best place in the world We, The Irish, we will never forget the English, and what they done to Ireland.

They done cruel slaughter and as we fought back they called us criminals and terrorists! And we, the Irish, waged bloody war

  • I know this may be a stupid question but, what exactly was Bobby Sands protesting?

  • @ChandlerBing1993 He was protesting against the removal of the Special Category Status. The status meant that prisoners didnt have to wear uniforms or do work, and that they could havemore visits and they were allowed food parcels. He led the hunger strike against its removal.

  • @blah96blahblah alright, thanks

  • @ChandlerBing1993 He was protesting overall against the second class treatment of Northern Irish Catholics

  • He is a convicted criminal, not a hero.

  • @nmldad How many Irish Catholics died at the hands of England? How many fathers, brothers and sons were torn from their homes for crimes they did not commit against the British governemnt? How many Irish couldn't get jobs or housing? He is a HERO!!!

  • Margaret Thatcher is a cunt.

  • @tpjl25

    Isn't that what a "Thatcher" is?LOL

  • God bless Bobby Sands forever

    From France

  • the last days of your life with the diry protest and to top it off die by hunger strike

    man that sucks

  • better than IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER

  • Guys u can nott resist seeing the film over and over again! Enhanced with the beautifull experience on moovi.co.cc page!

  • @Scoob505 How was that comment racist, I made no refernce to the colour of your skin, which is what racism involves, Nationality and race are two different things. Again i'll repeat, Irishmen really are idiots. The Penal Laws date back further than the 19th century, early 16th. Let it go, the people of Ulster wish to remain in Britain, they have just as much of a right to choose where their allegiances lie as you.

  • cock sucking brit cunts only win wars if they're versing people without weapons

  • @IrishPride691 Whereas the Irish don't win wars full stop.

  • @afcJonny Pretty hard when you are being kept down by the most powerful empire in the world and the penal laws stop all catholics from an education and owning a gun.

  • @Scoob505 For your information, PADDY, the british empire was long gone by 1981, Irishmen really are idiots.

  • @IrishPride691

    what does that even mean.

  • @IrishPride691 well they are supper power, so i guess they would make sort work of the irish

  • @IrishPride691 - Looks like you failed history as well as English.

    Not much pride in education,eh?

  • @IrishPride691 O'rly?

  • @IrishPride691 yeah baby - like the Falklands war (1982),Korean war (1952), Suez (1956),Cyprus E.O.K.A (1967),Germany (1914-1917) or Germany (1939-1945), or the Boers in South Africa (1899-1901) or the Japanese (1939-1945), or Napolean at Waterloo (1815).History was evidently not your strongest subject at school (working on the assumption you actually studied anything other than the "holy book" LOL!)

  • @IrishPride691 lol what a tit

  • Capitalism = modern slavery. With a democracy, where the majority of the stupiditty rules.

  • @pyromaniaknl What kind of system do you suggest Mr. Genius ?

  • @ilikerainbowbubbles Only a goverment for technological improvements. Just a lawbook with laws nobody ever can change. No more monetairy system, just back money by gold or something again. No more fuckers who try to control u, holding u up by your feet and shaking the money out of your pockets. That's the best i can get up with :)

  • @pyromaniaknl Mate in my opinion you should not criticize when you do not have the solution. There is indeed a point concerning what you said but the solution is not complaining but acting. If anyone wants to make the world a better place do not complain about the system and whatever happens to the world because you do not take part in the change.Unfortunately the difference is that there are people who complain about afeghanistan for example but do nothing about it, just shit talk.

  • @ilikerainbowbubbles Indeed. Normally u never hear me complain. Sometimes it really pisses me off al that bullshit on tv.

  • More than 80 days on hunger strike met 34 political prisoners of the Mapuche ethnic group (people of the land) in the Chilean state prisons.

  • Who is the actor? He looks a bit like Tim Roth.

  • @MOONST0MP Micheal Fassbender

  • Tatcher...war criminal!

  • @xXxcute16catxXx shot vey bad,

it made the story lag, so i agree, but with the true life aspect, its a story to behold,

  • Okay Do not watch this Movie plzzz its so shit they have a convo for 35mins i'am not lieing just sitting in a chair not changeing camera aye and there is a guy mopping for like 10mins slow slow slow movieing this vidoe clip is probley every scence with out the slowness lol shitt!!!

  • @danvsyou hahaha the fact that you're not used to this type of movie doesn't means it's shit man, if you only understood what this movie is about and how deep it goes then you'd think it's amazing, like most people.

  • @danvsyou this film isnt really for your personal enjoyment, it was made by an artist who wants to show what it was like for both sides off the war so you cant say much if you dont know what it really is

  • where can i download this movie

  • Bobby Sands RIP legend and hero

Never hated the british so much after seeing this movie f*cking bastereds!!!

  • Bobby Sands a hero to all republics

  • forever england

  • @icefyreuk lol, is your pride hurt now that you have found out what your soldiers were doing over here? Did your parents tell you they were heroes?

  • HAMBRE Y UN PAÍS POR LA MITAD

En un poema de vida o muerte y donde nos habla más alla que una simple lucha por la libertad. Una cinta basda en Booby Sands por elartista Steve McQueen´s

  • Fantastic film with great performances by all concerned. Watching the film makes you feel like a witness to a crime.

  • @bobgrantsbus Your comment just goes to show how a film maker cans warp people’s perception of an event. Research the reasons WHY Bobby Sands was imprisoned, and why the local prison guards had it in for him.

  • @whiteheartmovies My comment was made purely as a film fan not based in any particular political belief. For example I enjoy many horror films and can on occasion empathise with the bad guy but not condone his methods. Is this the film maker manipulating my emotions or do I come to my own conclusions through the eye of the camera lens. Right or wrong the end of Bobby Sands life was a difficult for the viewer to watch as a fellow human being starves himself to death for his political ideology.

  • @whiteheartmovies That works both ways im afraid. you must also see WHY a generation was forced to stand up because of shocking human rights violations that ran through the core of NI for generations, even if both sides were guilty of taking it too far

  • can anyone who has seen this movie explain to me why the cop who went to see his mother got shot by a random dude??

  • @agileapplet it was a revenge killing by the IRA for the actions he'd been carrying out against the prisoners.

  • @agileapplet: that was an IRA assassin, not a random guy. The prison guard was a victim of retaliatory execution.

  • I guess he was doing what he thought was right...

  • Up the RA! free all political prisoners ww

  • This is a heart-wrenching film.

  • I respect bobby sands, leaders like that are needed, he put his own life on the line with the rest.

  • @killzonephx Not happy with Gerry and Martin then?

  • do they speak in that film cus piano is too noisy

  • the reason i admire Bobby Sands is he was willing to die for the cause before killing for the cause

  • @barry770 - He was a member of the IRA,which is how he came to be in prison.

That means he signed up to kill for the cause but was arrested and jailed before he got the chance.

That doesn't make him St Francis of Assisi...

  • @SeryiVolk2009 No it doesn't make him Francis of Assisi, but his protracted, painful sacrifice was Christ like.

  • @SeryiVolk2009 Shhh don't start telling people the truth of why Sands ended up in prison - he was after all a sweet, innocent, cute cuddly puppy (who just so happened to find his way into a terrorist organisation!) LOL!

  • thatcher was a stuck up arrogant bitch, they were political prisoners for fucks sake!! they were fighting for the freedom of their country, people love freedom fighters, che gueverra is a like a god to some people

  • @twiggo66 At jus sums use snouts up like, yas arent all the same like but the likes of u ur jus a dirty smelly orange bastard.

  • maggie thatchers is now a tortured dribbling wreck of a human, what goes around, comes around.

  • @antoireland09 england was NOT always right.

My viens run with green bllod.

    UK/USABOY.

  • In Iran, we named a street after Bobby Sands. Guess what's on it?

    The British Embassy!

    God bless Bobby Sands.

  • @kruger97 Ah well perhaps there needs to be a film about the joys of Iranian prison life - the storys of the people caught up in the Green revolution are worthy of a film (rape as a means of getting a confession out of people anyone?)

  • @revol148

Is that the same Green 'Movement' that gathered a couple of dozen people onto the streets of Tehran to kick down phone booths earlier this year - whilst the rest of the Middle-East were having genuine uprisings attracting millions of people onto the streets?

I also would like you to qualify your comment about rape taking place in Iranian jails. Preferably in Farsi please, and something more credible than "unnamed sources".

  • @kruger97 Do you accept the findings from both amnesty international & Human rights watch as evidence - or do you only pay attention to when they criticise Israel?Either way it doesn't matter:high velocity rifles are doing their work in butchering people who want change of government across the Middle-east.Still as seen with Iraq after the fall of Hussein (maybe?) your "sort" of people need to be ruled by dictatorships to create order however blood-thirsty.I had hoped better for you all- oh well

  • @revol148

I accept neither Amnesty or HRW, due to them being fundamentally linked in agenda and discourse to the hegemony of the United States, nor do I think that they should be considered the 'standard' of human rights or international norms. I don't see what this has to do with my question though? Are you unable to understand Iran beyond the tabloids and Panorama specials?

  • @kruger97 Quite the contrary - I've heard great things about the country - still (as with so much off the Middle east - including Israel!) I do make a clear distinction between the rulers and the ruled.Likewise I would NOT want someone from Iraq thinking that I am in anyway responsible for the termoil in that country just beause the person running my country back in 2003 felt the need (desire) to stand "shoulder-to-shoulder" with the president of another country in a dubious case for war.

  • @revol148 What exactly do you know about the big bad regime in in Tehran then? Why do you feel so comfortable to merely regurgitate statements by MKO exiles about the political situation in Iran, when you clearly don't know the first thing about the system of government or living conditions in the country? Have you even visited the country?

While we're also on the subject of war guilt - how do you feel now the UK is now in Libya as well?

  • @kruger97 Libya: a pointless piece of grandstanding before the "rebels" are crushed.Of course western military planners (mainly France this time) hoped for the rebels to win - but as I said yesterday the so-called Arab spring is almost over now and so the Arab people can after they have burried their dead can safely get back to their normal l lives living under dictatorships happily blaming Israel & the US for ALL their problems rather than their own leaders! The human race eh - I dispair!

  • @revol148 Last time. What do you know about Iran to start this completely off topic discussion?

And it's funny that you're blaming the Arab people in more or less the same fashion that you had previously said was unwarranted when the subjects happened to be Westerners who get blamed for the destruction of Iraq and Afghanistan of Bush and Co.

  • @kruger97 I thought we had already established that (a) I have never been there - although I would like to(b) I watch Zionist controlled western media (as you would call it) for most of my information as well as newspapers (Guardian which is just about left of centre most of the time) - I'm sure the Jews control that as well as most things non Islamic (c) that I also have read from NGO's in Iran (two of which are critical of Israel - spot the irony there if you will).

  • @kruger97 Absolutely I do think there is commom ground between the Syrian,Yemenis,Israelis(!) who should NOT be tarred with the same brush due to the actions of their government. After all it was quite ironic that at least two victims of the July 7th bombing had participated in the stop-the-war march in 2003 YET had to pay the price as pointed out by one of the suicide bombers - for the actions of Tony Blairs foreign policy.

  • @kruger97 we are agreed then:that when those 2 NGO's (who's credibility you question) report back on the "situation" in Iran regarding the Green revolution they are simply out and out liars with a US/Zionist agenda to follow.Except of course when they criticise Israel then they are credible:the Goldstone report did consider evidence from both of those organsistaions when looking into the finer points of Operation Cast lead.

  • God bless you Bobby sands, you made the ultimate sacrafice for us the Irish people, for your country Éire and for the dignity of man. May you and all those who died for the cause never be forgotten. Ireland will one day be at peace.

  • The term UK needs to end, we need england, wales, scotland and ireland separate.

  • Ireland will be one, if i do not see it, my children will.

    Hopefully peacefully as well.

  • @Scoob505 what will happen to the loyalists, a shit storm if British government abandon them. FACT History is history, & that determines history! Imagine Prime Minister saying,"Sorry boys all your fore fathers who fought at Battle of Boyne is forgotten". Its very complex.

  • does anyone know what song this is?

  • amazing film...

  • god bless bobby sands

  • @123adam321mcnally123 bobby sands is a prick and a dirty fenian scum if u agree write in black people go crazy for free fried chicken

  • I really want to watch this movie! and what song is it please!

If you're not born in Ireland you can not call yourself a full on irish, if you're parents are you're maybe a quarter but older than that sorry mate you're not.

  • jesus thats a bit harsh.

  • do u not agree?

  • @TheMuppetKiller the song is wat wat in the butt by samwell

  • @TheMuppetKiller I was born and bred in Ireland and im a native speaker. That is complete bullshit. If a pig is born in a bar it doesnt make it a cow. Our ethnicity comes from shared customs, values and culture. Not from the country you were born in. Would you consider Dev Irish or no.

  • Look i'm not trying to be a dick even though it really does look that way. Just one question you see when Americans(stereotyping sorry) say they are Irish because of the potato famine, doesn't that annoy you in the slightest?

Watched the movie absolute wonder of a movie!

  • @TheMuppetKiller No it doesnt because their ancestors and the ancestors of people who went to work in Britain built our country by sending back money to their families. Its their birth right and Ireland would be completely fucked if it wasnt for Irish Americans. Irish Americans put a lot of pressure on the British when times were bad.

  • @Freshhhhh1982 Look man i completely understand what you mean by ancestors and all but i can't agree... you see if my dad was american or australian yes i would consider myself half american or australian but if my grandad was american or australian i would not consider myself american or australian... Look we agree to disagree

  • @Freshhhhh1982 You're right they helped... Look man i completely understand what you mean by ancestors and all but i can't agree... you see if my dad was american or australian yes i would consider myself half american or australian but if my grandad was american or australian i would not consider myself american or australian... Look we agree to disagree

  • Comment removed

  • This is such a great and touching film. It's quite disturbing and horrific, but everyone of Irish background, and of any background should watch this film. Michael Fassbender gives a great performance!

  • @TheFruitThtAteItself I agree 100% with you - it is absolutely essential that Irish people watch this film to reafirm their (perpetual?) victim-status of which they so enjoy. The fact that there is/was only one side in this conflict and that the IRA were a force for good and everyone of them had mouths where butter wouldn't melt is also something that needs to reinforced constantly.

  • Dont worrie bout the muppetkillers coment mo chara, hes a muppet and a fool himself, not to mention a pohms, so therefore talkin complete shit.

  • Think about it, lets say my dad was australian i would love to call myself an australian but i'm not because i wasn't born there. It's just common since...

  • What am a geniune irish man, born and bred in county Armagh, my kids will be born auzzies, they mite have oz passports, but they will be irish, and it sense not since

  • lol, of course i'm talking shit! Look my great grandfather was french which of course makes me french. Doesn't matter at all that i was born in Ireland. :D

Oh and i'm glad you called me muppet it's quite funny to me :D

  • Does anyone know the name of the song and/or the artist in this trailer? I'm having no luck looking here or on google search...

  • @PatrickBarrett03 try imdb and criterion. hunger 2008.

  • @Pokahonodas because the alternative has worked so well

  • @Pokahonodas You suggest anarchy ?

  • well, ive got to say, one of my favourite films. the hunger strike of 81 is a historical inspiration to me as a yung republican and the convo with the priest, brillant. in that scene, michael fassbender as sands is unreal. the foal story gave a real strong message aswell. ahh the guilt the brits must feel hi. and old maggie too. 'may God shine on you Bobby Sands, for the courage you have shown' r.i.p the 10. tiocfaidh ar la
